Chapter 59 - Panic

Xi Zihe stepped out of the office. He pushed the door open, and looked around below. There's another ladder. He retreated back into the corridor and opened the window. Xi Zihe bowed and checked the state of affairs below.

The administration building and armory are separated by a 100-meter street, in the middle of which is an open courtyard. With the moon in the sky, Xi Zihe could clearly see the sight of two cargo helicopters in the courtyard.

However, dozens of zombies roamed aimlessly in the courtyard.

Xi Zihe, "Ruisi, the armory is precisely in the opposite direction. Can you see anything in there?"

"I can't see anything." Answer The Ruisi. "Captain, you go in first. I'll report the situation outside to you every five minutes."

Yao Yue gave his opinion after listening to them. "But there are a lot of zombies out there. How we cross is still a problem. Should we use the rope again?"

Xi Zihe glanced down, and said, "How about we get out?"

Yao Yue felt that it was a bad idea. "That's not good, Captain. If we get out, we have to shoot. What would we do if the hundreds of zombies that were there were interested in the sound of gunfire and switched to chasing here? We're gonna be done."

On top of the hill, Yang Ruisi was seriously observing another place through her monitor.

Xi Zihe and Yao Yue put AK on the window sill. "We'll be ready."

Xi Zihe coded the other members to aim at the zombies from the window.

"I will take care of the twelve on the east side. Li Yan will take the rest." Xi Zihe gave the order while pulling the trigger.

Li Yan casually obeyed every command given, as she could not hear Yang Ruisi's voice directly. He refilled his gun, "Are there enough bullets? I think there'll be more coming." Li Yan shot after finishing speaking. It was indeed worthy of being a sniper, every trigger he pulled directly hit a zombie right in the head.

Xi Zihe shot again, "No, there are only a few of them."

Shen Yuan adjusted the direction of his weapon, he reported, "The zombies below are starting to rise."

"Keep killing them." Xi Zihe said calmly, "I have a plan."

Shen Yuan narrowed his eyes as he looked at the scope, "What plan?" He pulled the trigger while talking. One bullet went through two zombie heads.

The zombies started heading towards the administration building. The zombies downstairs also started to climb up the stairs.

When the momentum arrived, Xi Zihe immediately shouted, "All of you! Lock the doors on both sides of the corridor, now!" Xi Zihe pulled the trigger again, one after another shots were launched. Xi Zihe and the sniper, Li Yan, in front of the window cleared the zombies that were in front of the armory door.

Then, there was a crash. Yao Yue started to shout crazily, "Zombies have climbed to the third floor!"

Zombies started slamming the doors in the corridor. According to the intensity of its vibration, it did not wait long until the door was broken.

After the zombies in front of the warehouse door were all dead, Xi Zihe immediately shouted, "Let's go!"

He hooked the hook with a rope on the window sill, and slid down from the third floor with a whizzing sound. Followed by Li Yan, "Let's go down immediately!"

Yao Yue was very impressed by his captain's plan. He almost kowtowed respect in front of him. All the zombies were being lured to go to the third floor of the administration building, but everyone slid down using hooks, and quietly crossed the 100-meter-long field.

With Xi Zihe leading the way, and Li Yan guarding the very back, they dashed towards the armory.

On the other hand, Yang Ruisi and the two brats held tense breaths as she looked at the state on the monitor. A row of bright orange-red human-shaped figures passed by. The administration building, the field, everywhere was filled with zombies that were attracted by the sound of gunfire.

Xi Zihe howled, "Everyone, go through the side door! Hurry, hurry!"

"Damn! It's bulletproof lock!" Yao Yue growled in frustration as he looked at the door in front of him. "We can't open it!"

"Use the bottle of acid in your bag! I packed it this afternoon!" Shen Yuan said quickly while keeping watch around Yao Yue.

"Dad, you're so considerate!" Yao Yue laughed happily.

Shen Yuan, "Speak later, now work on it!"

Yao Yue immediately lowered his head and started to melt the key. Xi Zihe and the others moved around Yao Yue, forming a circle with their backs on each other to keep watch.

Yang Ruisi again informed them. "They haven't noticed you yet. However, there are some zombies in your area. Song Yi's! There's one on your left, watch out!"

Shen Yuan immediately said, "Don't shoot!" At that moment, he had already pulled out a military knife from his right thigh. The knife cut off the head of the zombie that had just come out of the bushes without making much noise.

Yang Ruisi again said, "On your right, four o'clock. There were six zombies slowly heading there! The captain! The corner! Get away from that corner!

Xi Zihe immediately channeled Yang Ruisi's orders, "Retreat! Get away from the corner!"

But Xi Zihe was one step late, a zombie lunged forward from behind the corner. He managed to grab Song Yi's warden uniform. Song Yi immediately turned around, smashing the hilt of the weapon into her head. Shen Yuan rushed forward to cut off his head as the zombie slightly toppled backwards due to Song Yi's punch.

Yang Ruisi thought inwardly that this was a disaster, within the field of vision on her monitor, she saw more zombies coming.

Yang Ruisi said frantically, "More are coming. You guys still can't get in?!"

"It's finally open!" Yao Yue roared, "Let's hurry in!"

The moment Yao Yue's voice fell, it was as if all the zombies in their area heard it. All the zombies turned around, and spontaneously ran towards them.

"Oh no... Is this my fault?" Yao Yue asked in a hearty tone.

"I swear I won't give you any more food rations!" Xi Zihe said right in his ear.

Xi Zihe and Li Yan guarded the door, shooting down every zombie that started crashing towards them. The others immediately entered the armory. Xi Zihe grabbed the steel chain on the ground and sealed the door tightly.

The zombies immediately slammed the door. Xi Zihe and the others were already inside the armory. They are safe for now.
