55. Champion of Hope

After getting acquainted with Nathan's friends, Nicko was invited to enter the room of the brother.

When entering the room, Nicko immediately laid his body on the bed. Nathan seemed to shake his head at the behavior of his sister.

"Wake there first, slovenly very new come directly to sleep !" nathan pretended to be angry.

"Ga sleep Bang, doang kok fall," said Nicko as he stretched his body.

"But you can sleep for a long time too. Here's the towel, take a shower first" Nathan said as he handed Nicko his towel.

Nicko received the towel and rushed into the bathroom outside the room. After cleaning himself Nicko returned to Nathan's room. In front of the room he passed by another occupant who had just arrived. He greeted them with a smile.

"New occupants huh ?" ask one of them.

"Not Mas. I'm Bang Nathan's sister" Nicko said with a smile.

"Well, so this is Nathan's sister. Very handsome," praise one of them.

"Ga need lebay. There are no gifts for Lo !" nathan sahut from the doorway.

Nathan's voice makes Nicko and Nathan's friends turn their heads. If Nicko smiles, Nathan's friends grunt and step aside.

"How come, I'm not feeling good" Nicko said.

Nathan nodded then went into the room followed by Nicko. Nicko then unpacked the bag. He brought out some snacks as well as side dishes made by the mother. Both Nathan's eyes seemed to sparkle happily seeing the side dish cooked by the mother in the form of squid sambal balado and chicken ungkep.

"Mother said the chicken was fried only if you want to eat Bang," Nicko said.

"Yes, you know. How much does Nick take ?" ask Nathan.

"Yes. There are many friends here. So Mommy deliberately makes a lot so that everyone goes to menggerasain Mommy's cooking," said Nicko while yawning.

"Ok, if that's what I put this in the refrigerator," Nathan said as he brought two containers of the mother's cooking to the kitchen.

There is no lawfulness. When Nathan turned his head, he saw Nicko was already asleep on the bed. Nathan smiled and closed the door to keep Nicko's sleep uninterrupted.

A painting competition is held in a building. While going there Nicko is escorted by Nathan.

"Ga need to wait for Bang, the wealth will be long," said Nicko.

"Yes. Now you have to go to the campus and turn the book first. If you are ready, Brother pick you up. If not, you take a taxi. Inget is the address of the boarding house ?" ask Nathan.

After the departure of the brother, Nicko turned his body and rushed into the building area. By a security Nicko was directed into a hall. In front of the hall Nicko showed the card of the contestants. After filling out the guest book, Nicko was welcome to enter the hall.

Nicko circulated his gaze to look for an empty place. All the corners of his favorite place were filled. Nicko let out a long sigh as he got a place in the middle of the room. He had to go there because that was all that was left.

When Nicko had just laid out his painting equipment, the voice of the chief of the event organizers was heard welcoming. All participants were forced to look ahead where a mini stage was located.

After delivering a greeting sentence, the event committee chairman also mentioned the theme of the race this time.

The speech of the head of the painting competition committee made the atmosphere in the building become rowdy for a moment. They wondered who the winner of the race was three years in a row. When the bell rang the sign of the race began, all participants seemed to start busy painting.

Meanwhile Nathan has arrived at the college. He parked his motorbike in the campus parking lot and rushed to the library. Nathan let out a sigh of relief as he arrived just in time before the library attendant came home.

"Why is it so late. There were three students who wrote this book. Kasian them," said the librarian named Sulastri while typing something.

"Yes, sorry Mom. I had to take my sister to Building X first" Nathan said.

"Emang can not walk alone, why must be delivered all. His sister must be an adult, right ?" ask Sulastri ninyir.

"Oh that is," said Sulastri, who was taken by Nathan.

After returning the borrowed book, Nathan walked to the cafeteria. He wanted to meet his classmates there.

In the afternoon, Nathan returns to the building where Nicko is taking part in a painting competition. He intended to pick up the sister who he said was waiting for the announcement of the winner of the race.

Nicko suddenly saw the arrival of his brother. He approached Nathan while handing him a bottle of mineral water.

"Where's the result, you won ?" nathan asked after gulping down water from the bottle that was thrust at him.

"Not Bang. If I don't win why Bang ?" ask Nicko.

"Yes gapapa, so this is a good experience. So in the future you know your weaknesses and do not repeat the same mistakes. But if you win, it has to be grateful. Stay humble and don't be pretentious" Nathan said.

"Yes Bang" said Nicko, smiling as he was glad the brother didn't press him.

After Nathan waited almost an hour, the event organizers announced who the winner of this painting competition was. Apparently in addition to champions one, two and three, the organizers also provide prizes for champions hope one and two.

It seems Nicko should be content to be the champion of hope one. Even so Nathan joined in cheering happily to hear the name of the sister called by the committee.

"Congratulations Nick !. Not in vain come all the way from Jakarta. This is good, Brother is proud of you !" nathan said as he clasped his brother's shoulder after Nicko received Thropy, trophies and other gifts.

"Alhamdulillah, Yes Bang. Thanks," said Nicko with a smile.

"Eh, what's that envelope ?" nathan asked as he pointed at the large brown envelope.

"Oh, this is Bang's night tour ticket. All champions get two tickets, brother want to come ?" ask Nicko.

"What night tour does that mean ?" nathan didn't understand.

"The name is a night tour, of course we leave at night Bang. And the place we visited was not an ordinary place but an extraordinary place" Nicko said.

"That night's jurit is it ?" ask Nathan.

"Yes. Brother want to come ?" ask Nicko again.

Nathan's answer made Nicko laugh. Then Nathan and Nicko left the place while piggybacking on Nathan's motorcycle.
