37. He's Coming

That night the atmosphere was very tense. There was no wind, no sound, not even the moon was shining dimly.

A man dressed in a full security uniform seemed to be pacing around the situation around Bayan's house. He is Jonah, a former OB who now works at Bayan's private home.

Jonah nodded in understanding. He understands how Yumi and Arti feel who must live in a big house alone. Even though it is daytime, but the atmosphere around the house is also quiet to make the two do not dare to go out if not in urgent conditions.

The disembodied head of none other than the night creature that Bayan was avoiding seemed to dwell behind the leaves of the mango tree. From a height he could stare at the window of Bayan's room where Bayan and his wife were. The creature also returned to grinning as it stared at another window not far from Bayan's room. It seems that the creature knows full well that the room is inhabited by Nathan, Bayan's eldest son and Anna.

The night creature called kuyang remained there until late at night. He continued to observe Bayan's house because there was something there that attracted his heart. Predictably if the kuyang was waiting for the opportunity to prey on Nicko, a baby who had not even turned forty days old.

At the same time inside Bayan's house, Yumi is seen persuading Nathan to sleep. The three-year-old boy still wants to play. Nathan seemed to run to and fro happily. Nathan stopped running when his father rebuked him.

Nathan seemed to think for a moment and then nodded. Bayan smiled then grabbed the three-year-old into his arms. Bayan washed Nathan's face and feet with water and took him to his room after greeting Anna and Nicko. Yumi, who was following Nathan since earlier, seemed to smile at Nathan's obedience to his father.

Bayan accompanied Nathan for a moment until the child fell asleep. Afterwards, he exits the room and asks Yumi to accompany the child. Yumi nodded and went into Nathan's room.

Anna, who was still waiting in the living room, smiled to find out that her husband had put Nathan to sleep. He got up and stepped into the room holding Nicko.

"The atmosphere tonight feels a bit different. Is it not ?" anna asked as her husband grabbed Nicko from his arms and placed her in a baby box.

"Okaya anyway, Mother's feelings only time," Bayan said with a smile.

"It was, but ...," Anna's speech was interrupted when Bayan landed a kiss on her forehead.

"Good night dear" whispered Bayan.

After saying that sentence Bayan also laid his body beside the wife. Anna smiled and lay down. Soon, the two fell asleep in positions hugging each other.

The night is climbing. The quiet and gripping atmosphere plus the cold night air made the usually strong Jonah who stayed up seemed to start drowsiness. Several times the man yawned a sign that he was very sleepy. And a moment later Jonah fell asleep in a sitting position leaning on a chair right on the porch of the house.

Something that had been lurking in Bayan's house seemed to smile broadly watching Jonah fall asleep. He felt it was time to act. Slowly but surely the disembodied night creature came out of hiding and floated near Bayan's house.
