14. Execution Night

Dusk meets Karto at a simple restaurant. He waited for Karto's arrival while sipping the coffee he ordered earlier.

Bayan's car stopped at a deserted farm. He came down and rushed into the building. He opened the door violently and saw nothing because of the pitch-black state of the room. Faintly Bayan heard sobs in the back corner of the door and he recognized the voice.

" Bapak..., where is Dusk ?" ask Bayan.

Karto hugged Bayan while crying. His eyes pointed somewhere. Bayan followed the direction Karto pointed to. He was shocked and almost fainted. He let go of Karto's embrace and approached the headless body.

" What have you done ?!" bayan shouted furiously at the sight of the broken glass as well as spikes scattered over the gaping wound on the neck.

" It's the demand of Dusk" said Karto sobbing.

" You have no right to do this!, I'm her husband, I'm not letting you do this!. She's my wife, my wife !" yelled Bayan kalap.

Suddenly my head floated in and looked for his body. Karto hurriedly pulled Bayan to hide.

They watched how my head that many times failed to unite his body. The head continued to drift, trying to fuse again, then drifted again. So it keeps repeating. Until the dawn finally broke. And a desperate growl rang out from my mouth that twilight incarnation.

From the hiding place Bayan cried to witness the suffering of his wife who transformed into a ghost head without body.

When the Adhan was heard in the distance, Bayan and Karto ventured out of their hiding place and approached the body of Dusk lying on the floor.

Bayan could not see Dusk struggling between life and death. With a swift Bayan took his wife's cold body. And with a breath of gasping twilight was still trying to talk.

Dusk smiled looking at Bayan's face for the last time. Slowly Dusk closed his eyes and his cold body gradually froze. Dusk died in the arms of the husband he loved so much.

For a moment the atmosphere felt tense. Bayan was still crying over the departure of Dusk while hugging his body.

Suddenly there was a strange. The body of Dusk in Bayan's embrace gradually shrank then slowly shattered into dust. Then the dust flew out of the room and disappeared in the darkness. Only the last clothes left were worn by Dusk in Bayan's arms.

Seeing his wife's body destroyed Bayan was hysterical. Bayan roared loudly and ran out in his arms in his twilight clothes. While staring at the sky Bayan screamed once more and then fell unconscious. Luckily Karto was still standing behind him. Karto swiftly propped up Bayan's body so that it did not fall directly into the hard rocky ground.
