198. Interrogations

The investigation into the bizarre death that occurred in the bathroom of Hilya Maternity Clinic was also conducted on a marathon basis. It seems that the police did not want to buy time by letting news of the case grow more wild. Police are doing so to keep the clinic safe, which is dominated by the woman and the baby.

CCTV cameras were seized to find out what happened. Several employees at the clinic were again questioned. Hilya also as the owner and manager of the clinic was questioned.

Accompanied by Nathan, Hilya leaves for the polosi office to undergo a series of interrogations. Not without reason the police suspect Hilya. Because according to Hilya's alibi police it makes no sense. And based on police records, previously Hilya also had a bad track record in the past where she was also used as a suspect in the case of infant death at the Hospital. Although the guess was not proven but still make Hilya uncomfortable.

"Why I should always be involved with the deaths of those around me. I didn't know them and didn't know what they were doing until they died" Hilya said.

Nathan and Hilya had just arrived at the police station and were in the parking lot.

"Propay for me, dear. This is just a regular interrogation. Answer what it is and done," Nathan said as he clasped Hilya's shoulder.

"I know it can't be that simple, honey. I'm talking about it because I was in the same position before. Don't you forget that I was accused of killing babies at the Hospital ?. Fortunately you and Dad also came to save me first" said Hilya.

"Yes. And you don't have to worry. I'll make sure the police won't be able to touch you this time either. Lots of witnesses and evidence. So you don't have to worry about it" Nathan said, hugging Hilya tightly.

Hilya nodded then returned Nathan's embrace. She buried her face in her arms and tried to find peace there.

After feeling strong enough, Hilya parsed her embrace. Nathan smiled and landed a kiss of love on Hilya's forehead.

"Let's face it all together. And hopefully after this we don't need to come here anymore because I'm sure you're innocent" Nathan said.

"Aamiinu. Why do you believe so much in me. What if the Police's allegations about me committing the crime are true ?" ask Hilya.

Nathan smiled then grabbed Hilya's fingers and held her tightly.

"I believe in my instincts because my instincts have never been wrong. From the beginning I was sure you were the soul mate God sent me. And I'm happy because it turns out that God's chosen soul mate is a great woman plus smart. So how could you do such a stupid thing that could bring down your reputation" Nathan said firmly.

Hilya nodded with a smile with a pounding heart. I don't know why Nathan's words made him happy. He clasped his hand as Nathan took him.

The police who met Nathan yesterday seemed to smile at the presence of Nathan and Hilya. They shake hands and laugh. The lawyer Bayan sent to help Hilya appeared to have been present there.

"Good morning Mas Nathan, Sister Hilya," said Alex kindly as he extended his hand.

"Good morning Mr. Alex" Nathan and Hilya said with a smile.

"Yes sir, I know. I told you yesterday" Nathan said.

"Well, I'm glad you're here. If everyone has the attitude of Mr. Nathan and Wife, I'm sure the Police work will be lighter and faster to finish" said the policeman, glancing at the clock that was coiled around his wrist.

"We just want to show our good faith and prove that My Wife is innocent. That's why we came early Sir" Nathan said with a smile.

"OKs. We go straight to the room, sir" said the policeman, smiling.

Nathan nodded then took Hilya a step without letting go of his hand.

Then the interrogation session was conducted. Hilya was able to answer all the questions smoothly. Alex helps Hilya answer some trap questions that leave Hilya confused.

When the police asked Hilya's opinion about the condition of the woman's body which was then known as Endah, Hilya's face suddenly paled. Even Hilya looks like she's gonna puke.

Nathan who was on standby seemed to rush to help his wife. He took Hilya to the bathroom in the corner of the room. Shortly afterwards Hilya vomited there.

"I'm sorry Mr. Hilya. She is pregnant young now. Maybe the question made him nauseous because he remembered the sad and blood-soaked condition of the victim" Alex said.

"Oh that, papa sir. But I must get Bu Hilya's answer. His opinion on the condition of the victim is very important because this can prove that Bu Hilya was involved or not" said the police.

The interrogation ended half an hour later. Nathan, Hilya, and Alex get out of the police station together. They plan to continue the conversation at a restaurant as well as lunch.

On that occasion Alex made sure that it was the first and last interrogation that Hilya had to undergo. Of course that makes Nathan happy.

"Why is Mr Alex so sure that Hilya will not be questioned again later ?" ask Nathan.

"Because the police have found the key to the answers to all the questions they asked earlier" said Alex with a smile.

"Whatever it is I remain grateful Sir. I don't think I can afford to have to undergo a rich interrogation session. Impressed to relax even though the pressure is extraordinary," interrupted Hilya to make Nathan and Alex laugh.

"Yes Brother Hilya, I understand what Mbak Hilya feels," said Alex wisely.

And their talks have continued for some time. Although their conversation was often colored by the action of Hilya who was nauseous, but everything went smoothly until the end.
