CHAPTER 30

"LAURA?” Adit knelt between the straws and held onto Laura's shoulder. “What are you doing here?”

“Hmmm?” Laura woke up from sleep, rolled to the edge, then recumbed again. “Adit?” muttered Laura. “Happy?” the girl asked softly while writhing lazily, arching her back and advancing her chest towards Adit.

“Nearly morning,” Adit replied while turning his eyes away from Laura's chest. “What are you doing here?”

Laura sat down while brushing the straw that was in her hair. The soft morning sunlight slipped into the stables, the air still felt a bit cold like night air, but the haystack on which Laura lay was warm. The horses inside the stables neighed, shouting for breakfast.

Laura's eyes were still sleepy on Adit. He smiled and stroked Adit's cheeks, which were reddish and fresh after shaving. “Evening Gemintang and Raden fight. I heard them screaming at each other. Heny's asleep, so I'm not going to his room. Their screams made me feel like I wanted to get out of the house. Why do Gemintang and Raden always fight? I don't understand, Adit.”

Laura leaned her body, placed her head on Adit's chest, her hands hugging Adit's waist. “Finally, I came here. Your bedroom door is locked and the light is off. I know you've been sleeping well. I didn't want to bother you, so I decided to just lie here, in the empty stables, and fall asleep. My feeling is calmer when I'm near you.”

Laura tightened her body to Adit's body. Adit's feeling upset, he mamaki Raden for making Laura sleep in the stable. Did Raden think he could hurt Laura? Can't Laura's stubborn older brother see that he loves this woman?

“I love them both very much. I want them to be friends.”

Adit buried his cheeks in Laura's hair, his large, rough hands stroking the girl's back. "If everything is in order, they will be friends. They won't fight anymore. I'm sure.”

Laura lifted her head from Adit's chest, looking up, looking at Adit. His eyes were filled with confidence and love. “You're so good, Adit. Why isn't everyone as good as you?”

“I'm not good,” Adit replied, he was stunned while tracing Laura's cheek with his index finger. “I wasn't a good person, until I met you. Whatever good I have, comes from you.”

“I love you, Adit," said Laura.

Adit closed his eyes, he clenched Laura's body tighter, pressed Laura's head deeply into her neck “Don't say so, Laura.”

“I want to tell you, because I love you so much. If we love someone, we must express it. Is that wrong?”

Laura distanced her body and looked at Adit expectantly. At that moment, Adit expressed his feelings. “I love you too, Laura.”

With a smile, Laura held Adit. Like a child, he wrapped his hands around Adit's neck and hugged him. “Oh, Adit. I love you. I love you.” He kissed Adit's whole face as soft as the flapping of butterfly wings. “I love you.” Laura kissed Adit to the lips, but for a moment she hesitated, she remembered the words of the Starling who reminded her to be careful.

Adit inhaled Laura's breath, feeling the thrill of excitement emanating from the female body that was so close to her body. Fuck those! with Raden's threat, he will face whatever the consequences, he will fight for the woman he loves so much.

Adit has known many women, but not women like Laura, not women who are loving and trustworthy, innocent, sincere, and unselfish.

“I love you. That's why I can't do it with you. I can't do that with you, unless you're already my wife.”

“Oh.” Laura looked disappointed. His eyes looked at Adit's lips. His fingers touched his face. “Do we have to stop kissing?”

With a smile, Adit lowered his face and kissed Laura's lips. “No.” replied Adit. “No.”
