CHAPTER 23
"YOU'RE STUPID,” Raden told himself in front of the mirror after coming out of the bathroom. His face became blurred, which aptly describes him after the events of twelve years ago. “What makes me think so stupidly, thinking things are going according to my plan?” Raden finished his drink, letting the liquid down his throat without enjoying the taste in the least.
He recalled what happened that night (12 years ago) when he met his father in the study and asked for time to talk. Like a poison that still settled, hatred and anger enveloped him whenever he remembered the insolence of his confident self.
Raden stepped into his father's study and said, “Daddy, I've found the girl I want to marry.”
"His father Willona called daddy last night. She said her daughter was three or four months pregnant. She said her daughter's eyes were swollen from crying because you didn't come to see her again and took responsibility. Congratulations, son. You will soon be husband and father.”
Until this moment his father's words were still very hated, words ba*ingan full of manipulation, and cunning.
And the Gemintang, the Star she met by the river under the rain, was now her father's wife. Now bajing*n that must be heard all his words by Gemintang. The star gave her sweet lips, her breasts, and all her body to her father because of her father who managed to marry her.
Raden closed his eyes with his palm, while the memory of his being together with the Gemintang flashed like a movie in his mind. Imagine all that Raden felt almost unable.
His whole body was in pain. Unfortunately, nothing can heal his wounds.
...ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ...
“Raden says the toaster is broken, but according to Heny there is no need to buy a new one if this old one can be repaired. Raden wanted to fix it but he was busy at the factory. Do you mind fixing it?”
“Of course not. I'm glad I could fix it.” He busied himself with tidying up the workbench in the garage, where small tools were stored.
“You're mad at me, Adit?”
Adit stopped working and looked at Laura who was wearing a collared shirt, her skin looking soft and smooth like a magnolia blossom that was bursting. His desire returned to ambush but Adit turned around. “Why should I be mad at you?”
Laura exhaled and sat on the top step. Fretfully, his fingers toyed with the belt wrapped around his waist. His head was bowed deeply until his chin almost touched his chest. “Because I kissed you yesterday,” replied Laura softly. “Since that incident, you've been mad at me.”
“I told you, I'm not angry.”
“Then why won't you look me in the face?” laura asked in a high tone, full of anger that forced Adit to raise his head and look at Laura speechlessly.
He never saw the girl angry or raise her voice for no reason. Laura's face look like the expression of a woman who felt humiliated.
Adit swallowed with great difficulty. “Okay, I'm looking at you now.”
“Your eyes avoid me. Your eyes never look at me again. Why, Adit?” laura asked, descending from the stairs and approaching Adit. “Why? You don't like my face anymore?”
Adit stared at Lauara nanar, ranging from her fine hair to her slender legs wearing flip-flops. Adit said in a raucous voice, “No Laura, I really like looking at you.”
Laura smiled, but for a moment her smile faded. “Then did I make a mistake?"
Adit rubbed his hands against his thighs, drying his wet palms on the jeans. “You did nothing wrong, Laura.”
Laura scrunched her forehead. “But I think I made a mistake. The woman I saw on television kissing her lover, they tilted their heads, and opened their mouths when kissing.”
Adit's body shook. “Laura,” he said raucously, “you must not talk like that to a man."
Laura looks confused. “Why?”
“Because there are things between men‐laki and women who..... Should not be talked about before marriage."
“Can do it, but can't talk about it?" tanya, she slipped on Adit's body and placed her hand on Adit's chest. His head was raised when he was about to look at Adit's face. “Then we don't need to talk about it. We kissed right away.” Laura's voice was as smooth as her breath that hit Adit's esophagus.
Adit's hand was holding Laura's hand. “We also can't do that.”
“Why, Adit?”
Anger is like slashing his whole body. Adit had to harden his heart to let go of Laura's hand and carefully lowered it to the side. “Ya indeed can not.” Adit returned to the table and picked up the saddle he was cleaning when Laura went in looking for him.
Laura sadly looked at Adit who came out of the warehouse and walked into the courtyard. He picked up a toaster, an object that was used as an excuse to meet Adit, and returned home.
In the house Laura passed by Gemintang. “Hai, Laura. What are you doing with that thing?” Gemintang asked, while pointing at the toaster.
Laura's style of speech attracted the attention of the stars. “How is Adit doing? I didn't see him a few days.”
Laura shrugged her shoulders. “He's fine, maybe. His attitude is strange sometimes.”
“Any?”
“Yes. It seems he doesn't want to be my friend anymore.”
“Really?”
“Yes. Since I kissed her.”
Starry surprised. “You kissed him?” he looked around anxiously, hoping that no one would hear the statement and that Raden was relieved that he was not around.
“Ya.” Laura looked at the Gemintang with an innocent and calm look while the Gemintang looked at her with an annoyed look. “I love him," said Laura.
“You revealed that to him?”
“Yes. Can't you?”
“Mmm.” The star was confused with what to say because this was Laura's first love, maybe this was monkey's love. How to explain carefully but not make her angry “You can kiss and express love to her, but you don't have to kiss her."
“Why?”
Starry smiling. “Because you and Adit aren't married. Make friends first well, to strengthen your hearts each.”
“Then do you think, will Brother Raden marry you?”
“Hah?”
“He always looks like he wants to kiss you, then are you guys getting married?”
“Laura, you can't say that. Raden won't marry and kiss, I'm your stepmother,”
“But he always looked at you?”
The lips feel dry. “Oh yes?” The starter hurriedly shifted the topic. “Today a lot of work that I did, I feel tired,” said Gemintang to Laura. “Soal Adit earlier,” he said, back to the topic of conversation, “Saranku, you guys just be friends first, do not force it too much. Usually men don't like to be shot like that."
“Ya,” murmured Laura, while looking down.
Gemintang understands the reason Adit is suddenly cold. Obviously he fell in love with Laura but did not want her feelings of love to make Laura do something that could ignite Raden's anger. He has sympathy for both. “Let's eat,” invite Gemintang friendly, while wriggling Laura's hand.
“Kak Raden to where?”
“Entahlah. He said he would eat together.”.
The words of the Gemintang were interrupted by a loud horn, and they came out to see it and Raden stopped his pickup car behind the BMW Gemintang. Raden jumped out of his new car.
“Well, what do you think?”
His radiant face reminded the Gemintang of the handsome young man he had once known on the edge of the forest.
“That's your car, brother?” laura asked as she pranced and clapped in joy. “I like the color.”
“Cavalier blue,” Raden replied, nodding at Gemintang. “Kurasa, what I need as long as I'm here is a pickup type vehicle like this. But how do I bring this car and my flying plane back to Jakarta, that's what I don't know yet.”
Everybody laugh. The starry look at Raden's wind-blown hair and the radiant look in his eyes.
“I'm so hungry. Is the meal ready?” Raden wrapped one hand to the shoulder of the Star and the other to Laura's shoulder. “Let my friend to the dining room, Miss-Miss.”
Before they reached the kitchen, Heny appeared in the doorway and exclaimed, “Star, Raden! Thank goodness you're here. The hospital doctor called. The condition of the Thunder lord deteriorated. Doctor says you better get to the hospital.”
