In The Rain

In The Rain
CHAPTER 24

There was only a small dim light that illuminated Thunder's inpatient room in the hospital. A kind of floodlight, the light beam is directed downwards, so that the light is right on the face of the man who is suffering from the pain.

The nurse was bowing near Thunder when Raden and the Gemintang entered the room. With his hands pierced by a hose, Thunder shook his hands, sending the nurse out of his room.

“Quick get out of here, leave me."

“But, lord Buana..."

“Out!” rough snaps. “I want to talk to my wife and son.”

The nurse immediately left the room, while the Gemintang approached the Thunder bed and held her hand. “We get straight here as soon as the doctor contacts us.”

Black Thunder Eyes, like bullets, stared at the Gemintang like the muzzle of a shotgun pointed at. The shattered shadows of life radiated from his face, not physically but mentally. “I hope I don't make you forced to leave something more important,” said the cynical Thunder and pulled his hand from the grasp of the Gemintang.

The star did not want to be provoked, she calmly responded to her husband. “Of course not, sir. You know I came here for you.”

Thunder smiled cynically. “For you to know soon I'm dead yet? So you know right away, you're free of me?”

The Starry Body gasped at the thunder's speech. “Why are you saying that? Do you think I want you dead? Wasn't I the one who always asked you to see a doctor? There's no reason you're accusing me of that."

“That's because you don't have a chance.” Thunder's gaze shifted towards Raden, who was standing at the end of the bed, with an expressionless look on his face.

“A-what do you mean say so?” The stars stammered, making Thunder's eyes return to him.

“I mean, because the man you so longed for now lives under one roof with you. You can be tempted to be unfaithful to your husband."

The star felt his breath breaking. “You mean, Raden?” tanya Gemintang, affirming.

“Raden.” Thunder repeats, imitating the Gemintang. “Raden, Raden. Of course he is! Definitely what I mean Raden.”

“But Raden and I.. we don't have... we never...”.

“Do not lie to me.” Thunder sat down and snapped at the Starry. “Don't try to pretend in front of me, Little Miss. I know all the stories about you and Raden.”

The Starfish distanced itself from Thunder, its eyes looking for Raden. Raden was unmoved, he remained standing rigidly at the end of his father's bed. His eyes were filled with deep hatred. “You knew about the stars the night you told me about Willona who was pregnant, didn't you?” ask Raden.

Thunder collapsing on the pillow. His breathing sounded decapitated, physically, obviously his strength was sucked a lot to express his victory message. But the look on his face sparkled with satisfaction as he looked at his son with a look of malice.

“So you followed me and saw us together,” asked Raden in a calm voice

“Hah, of course not!” replied Thunder, pleased. “I don't want to trouble myself in your affairs. I was just wondering, what mischief are you doing. Enough I told my slaves to follow you. They gave a very interesting report. You meet a poor girl by the river every day.”

The sobbing star was heartbreaking, but Thunder did not care about him at all because the target was his son.

“The girl you meet every day is clandestinely just an underage girl, said my men, but her body is very seductive.” Thunder wet his lips.

Raden's body trembled as it tried to control the anger that had ambushed him.

“We laughed amusedly when we found out your adored woman was the daughter of a drunk.” Thunder winked at Raden. “But I'm amazed at your taste in women, my son."

“Let's straighten out the problem,” sela Raden. “You know what Willona was carrying isn't my son, right?”

“I think the baby might be your son or another boy‐, and you can't prove it because Willona refused the DNA test."

“Not your son?” the Gemintang Demoness with a raucous voice, implying disbelief and curiosity.

Raden turned his head, “Not, Gemintang,” Raden replied. “The baby is not my son.”

“But you slept with Willona, didn't you?” ask Thunder.

Raden's eyes remained fixed on Gemintang when answering Thunder's question, “Ya. But it happened long before she got pregnant. I have never dated another woman after knowing Gemintang. Alyssa is not my son.” Raden turned back to face his father. “And you know about it. I told you that baby wasn't my son, 'cause I haven't slept with Willona in almost a year. But you forced me to marry her too. Why?”

“Happy I know you forgot that you yourself chose to marry her.”

“Because you threatened to send Laura to the orphanage if I refused to marry Willona!” shouted Raden, issuing anger that had been muffled since.

“Yes!” The star closes its face with its hands. Thunder forced Raden to marry the girl who was pregnant with another boy? How could he do that?

“Why did you force me to marry Willona? Why don't you deny Willona's father's assertion that I'm not the baby's father, when I'm sure you're not the one who's afraid to bear the consequences of this scandal. You're not a person who cares about the norms of society. And I know Willona's parents didn't threaten you. Why are you forcing me to marry her?” Raden's voice rose, the question echoed in the room.

“Money,” replied Thunder, short and easy. “His father has a lot of money. I need some money. Se‐simple is the problem. I sold you, worth twenty-five billion, big enough right?”
