In The Rain
CHAPTER 27
The long shadows of the night began to slip between the windows, Heny was busy cleaning up used glasses and wipes, and throwing cigarette dust from the ashtrays.
“Anyone wants dinner?” tanyakanya.
“I don't want to, thank you, Heny,” replied Gemintang with excitement.
“No, thank you.” Raden poured his liquor into a tall glass. “Sleep, Heny. You've been working hard all day.”
Heny lifted the tray full of glasses. “After I finish washing these glasses, I will sleep. Anything else you need, madam?”
The star smiled and thanked him, then shook his head. “Goodnight, Heny.”
“Hmmm, in the refrigerator a lot of food when anyone is hungry. Good night.”
Heny left Gemintang and Raden alone in the living room. Gemintang leaned his head on the sofa cushion and massaged his temple while closing his eyes, he unbuttoned his shirt and took it off in half while breathing a sigh of relief.
After opening his black suit, Raden rolled up the sleeves of the shirt. He stood at one corner of the window, one hand put in his pants pocket, the other occasionally brought the drink to his lips. It's the first time they've been together since they left the hospital two nights ago. It seems they don't have any chat materials.
Slowly the Gemintang's eyes opened, he observed Raden from across the room. His black hair was in stark contrast to his white shirt collar. Shoulder field.
While the stars were busy observing him, Raden suddenly looked tense and cursing, “What the hell are they?” Raden put the drink glass on the table and then poured out of the room. His face looked tense. Surprised, the star jumped off the sofa and quickly ran to the window.
Looking at Adit and Laura in the courtyard, the two of them walked slowly towards the house. Adit's hands were embracing Laura's shoulders, their bodies tight. Laura put her head on Adit's chest. Adit lowered his head to Laura's head.
Gemintang saw Adit's lips move‐move, talking to the girl gently. Then she saw Adit's lips tuck Laura's temples, giving a soft kiss.
The starfish splashed out with legs wearing only stockings, knowing what Raden saw. He had to go after Raden before he beat Adit.
But when Gemintang imagined Raden beating Adit, he heard the front door slammed Raden hard, his steps echoed on the terrace floor of the house. “Laura!” exciting Raden.
The stars chased Raden, hurriedly descending the stairs. “Raden, don't.”
Laura lifted her head from Adit's chest, but it did not appear that she wanted to distance herself from Adit. Instead, he took Adit in front of Raden who called him.
“Yes, Brother Raden?” said Laura.
“Where are you from?”
“I'm from the house of Mang Adit, watch television.” Laura smiled at Adit. “Adit wants to comfort me, forget my grief at Daddy.”
The flames of anger that tempered in Raden's heart were like being doused in gasoline. “Hmmm, you know it's late at night. You better go to bed.”
“So Mang Adit also said that to me,” Laura replied with a breath. “Goodnight, everyone.” Laura smiled sweetly at Adit before entering the house.
Raden let a few seconds pass, until finally the sound of the front door closed Laura. He quickly approached Adit. “Don't ever touch my sister again, okay? If I see you touching it one more time, you'll lose your job and I'll kick you out of here.”
“I don't love Laura, Mr. Raden,” Adit replied in a flat tone. “I just want to cheer him up. He was sad because he lost his daddy and. a few other things.”.
“My sister doesn't need ‘holiday’ from you.”
“Raden,” interrupted Gemintang while holding Raden's hand, so Raden held back his emotions, but Raden actually brushed off the hand of Gemintang.
“What do you mean?” ask Adit.
“You know what I mean. You pretended to comfort her, when you wanted my sister."
Adit bit his lower lip. “Whatever you think of me, sir, but that's the fact. I've never done anything that hurt Laura, and never will.”
Raden looked at Adit angrily. “Then, it means no problem to stay away from Laura? So that we don't have any misunderstandings.” Raden turned around and entered the house.
After throwing an apologetic look at Adit, the Gemintang hurriedly chased after Raden. He managed to catch up to him when he reached the terrace, pulling Raden's hand turned to face him. “You're outrageous! Does spewing your anger at Adit give you satisfaction? You feeling better now?”
“Not really.”
Raden turned the situation around, now he's the attacker. Clutched by the two arms of the Gemintang, pushed him into the living room, then closed the door of the living room. On the edge of the Gemintang to the wall with his body, his face was lowered to a close with the face of the Gemintang, his breath hunting. He asked, “How did you get my heart to sleep with my father? How is it possible, Gemintang?”
