I was checking the infusion tube and the blood hose attached to Tya's arm when Professor Ayyub came.
"Prof...."
Professor Ayyub gave the code with his hand while nodding my head to continue my work. Men of that age usually never come directly to the action rooms like this. But since the patient this time is his eldest grandson, he may want to make sure directly that his grandson gets the best care.
I checked all of Tya's condition, as well as the medical devices that were attached to her body. TTV monitors, infusion bags, blood bags, ventilators to catheters did not escape my observation.Lastly I injected drugs through the infusion tube Tya.
"Notice her vitals periodically, if there's anything call me, I'm in the room" I said as I patted the nurse's shoulder next to mine.
"Yes, Doc!"the answer.
I looked at Professor Ayub as if asking him if he still wanted to be in this room or if he wanted to come out with me. Professor mangosteen and following me.
Professor Ayyub and I walked together silently to the ICU. In the waiting room had been waiting for Mother of Tya. She was the daughter of Professor Ayyub. She and her husband and sister Tya stood up to see us coming out of the ICU.
"Pah ..." called him to the Professor, sounding worried as if from his call it had been agreed with the question of how the condition of his daughter inside.
I lowered my head for a moment to strengthen my heart to explain the patient's condition to his family. It's not the first time I've been in a situation like this. Only this time it's different. This is the hospital's family owner. This is the family of my ex-boyfriend. A little bit of this became a burden on me.
I straightened my head. And this time they all must have seen some unpleasant mimicry from my face.
"Look," I started my explanation. "So, Bu Tya's condition is currently experiencing severe bleeding, sir, Mom. Therefore we put Bu Tya in the ICU room until his condition improves. I personally as the doctor who handled her delivery feel very guilty about the current situation. I have no other choice, Mom, sir!" I said as I grabbed Tya's mother's hand. I hope He can feel my guilt and my sincerity apologizes.
I explained in outline what Tya experienced until he ended up in the ICU like this.
"I didn't think Ms. Tya had preeclampsia. When measured tension we just know that Bu Tya hypertension. There is also Solutio Placenta. The placenta is removed from the uterine wall before delivery. And his condition at that time was OK there was nothing empty, while he wanted to be referred to another hospital he had opened 8. So I decided to do a VBAC act on Bu Tya without the consent of her husband. Because at that time Dr.Ali was doing surgery" I said explaining the point.
The Tya family seemed to understand my difficult position and did not blame me at all. Even though I still feel I have a hand in that situation. And I really regret it.
"It's okay, doctor! We understand that the doctor has done his best" said Tya's father.
The rest of his family members were seen with mangosteen indicating that they understood my situation.
"But, how is Tya's condition now? How's baby? Are they gonna be okay, Doc?They won't do anything, Doc?" ask his father Tya streak.
I feel armed with questions like that. The guilty mimic was again present in my face even though I tried to minimize it.
"Because normal delivery is very risky for patients with preeclampsia, Ms. Tya had severe bleeding so we had to do a blood transfusion on her. Fortunately in PMI blood supply is sufficient. But the bad news is that it looks like Bu Tya has complications in his breathing and heart. And hope it doesn't spread to other organs" I said heavily. I said it myself. My tears almost fell if I couldn't bear it.
"Then the baby?"
"The baby stopped breathing and also swallowed amniotic fluid, but now it is okay. The baby is now in the NICU room under Dr. Fery"kata.
"That ...!!" cry Mother Tya hysterical who was immediately embraced by her husband.
"So, when can we see him, Doc? Can we see the baby too?" ask Tya's father again.
I wiped away the drop of water that came out at the end of my eye before it fell.
"Mr, I can go in turns to look at it. Later ask for help from nurses for sterile clothes and more. For the baby to go straight to the NICU, ask the nurses and staff on duty, sir!" my answer.
"Thank you, Doc!" said Tya's father rushed to leave me. Whether to see Tya first or her granddaughter, I don't know.
After they left me in front of me I was still standing. The tears I had been holding since, fell. I'm wiping. I was still trying hard to hold my sobs from being heard by Professor Ayyub who was still beside me.
Professor Ayyub held my shoulder patted him and guided me to a chair and then told me to sit down.
He was silent for a moment watching me who was trying so hard not to cry.
"Raya ..." call him like a father calls his son.
"B .... Aye .... Prof ..." I said in a stinging voice. My nose is starting to wince now.
My tears are falling.
"But, Prof, this is all my fault. Tya, I mean Ms. Tya," I said in my call to Tya out of respect for Professor Ayyub as his family. "Bu Tya experienced this a little bit because of my Prof .... I checked her pregnancy guide. During her pregnancy Bu Tya only controls once because every come I always reject it. He came to control, I again refused him so that Bu Tya was angry. Maybe that's why his blood pressure went up .." I said as I pleased.
Professor Ayyub let out a long breath.
"That kid must have made you a lot of trouble huh ..." the alleged words came out of Professor Ayyub.
I was surprised even though in the end I chose to shake my head.
"I've long heard of your complicated relationship. The child, though married and had two children, was still childish. Forgive him, Raya"
I looked at the professor in front of me in disbelief. The number one person in this hospital said something like this to me. Apologizing on behalf of his grandson.
"Professor don't apologize like that" I said. "I feel more guilty. It's all my fault, but why is the professor apologizing?"
"Raya ..." call her again in a soft voice.
"Hmmm .... Yes prof ..." sahutku.
"You're a good girl and a good doctor, too. Don't feel guilty about this. It's not your fault. Believe in yourself as a doctor. You are doing your best for your patients. No one is sorry because this is the way that has been listed there!" he said pointing upwards.
Spontaneously I followed Professor Ayyub's index finger pointing to the ceiling of the hospital.
"Haaa? Where is prof?" I was spontaneously confused.
Professor Ayyub chuckled as to my funny expression.
"Haha .... Haha .... Over where? Are you listening to what I say or not?Yep... In Lauhul Mahfudz there, Raya! Are you not talking to me?" he said he was still laughing.
"Ma .... Sorry, Prof ..." I said as I scratched my head covered in a headscarf with my index finger.
I don't know where that stupidity came from, I grumbled in my heart.
"Raya ..." call the professor again.
"Yes, Prof ..."so again.
"As I said, you're a good girl. If I were young and single, I would have put you on my list of dream wives" she said. I don't know if maybe the professor intended to distract me from Tya's problems.
"Ah, Professor can do it" I replied. "I can be compared to the professor's wife, the late Ms. Halimah" I said.
"Or... If I had a single son or a grandson, I would make you my grandson or my son-in-law" he said.
I smiled and didn't know what to say like that.
"You have no intention of getting married yet, Raya?" asked the professor suddenly made me feel like a sprain of salak seeds.
This question again. Even the Professor I knew was authoritative once ended up asking me this as well.
"There's no candidate yet, Prof!" reply origin.
"Want I find you?" tanyakanya. "I have many colleagues whose children are not married, but already have a job and an established business. Who knows if one of them suits you" he said, standing up and rushing to leave.
I also stood up and laughed politely.
"What's it for, isn't there a professor here? Maybe we'll fit in, Prof!" I was greeted by his laughter.
"This bad boy .... You dare tease me now huh, hahaha ...."
Professor Ayyub's laughter rang out to the end of the hall where we were walking. We eventually split up in the hospital hallway. Professor Ayyub headed for the parking lot while I headed for my room. Tonight I have to stay in the hospital.
