Wings & Dreams

Wings & Dreams
Ch.4 - City

The human territory has always been strange. Zeyn has been to villages where humans live, especially small villages located near the border with his territory.

Now, he was amazed and astonished at the tall buildings that loomed before him. Not only was the building close to hitting the clouds in the sky, but the lights were like flaming stars. Loud and crowded sounds from objects moving at high speed on the streets.

"Whatis that? Why is his speed higher than that of Ledion's horse?" Ask Clora who is also paying attention to the peculiarities of the atmosphere in this one region. The girl gritted her teeth. "I don't like this."

"Me too" said Kei behind her. They were hiding themselves with robes, especially taper ears and a pair of narrowed wings on their backs. As a Fae, Zeyn would never understand the human way of life.

They avoid public crowds as well as places that are still active at night. They don't want to be seen, and Zeyn doesn't want to use her magic. Although the senses of the human body were weaker than creatures like himself, Zeyn wanted to appear as normal as possible.

Perhaps, everything would have been normal if he had not covered himself with a robe. Zeyn let out a sigh and was forced to speed up his pace. Usually, he would use his wings if he had to travel a long distance. This time, they had to use both feet.

"Where does the girl live?" Ask Clora. "I want to quickly straighten my wings."

"Patience, Clora," she replied. "I think it's close to here. We just need to do the rounds and pass through this park," he continued while walking. They were now in a park in the middle of broad daylight. Suddenly two humans were walking towards them. Zeyn stopped his steps and hinted to his friends to do the same.

"Zeyn, I don't think we need to do this" Clora said. "We should be able to blend in with the surrounding environment. If we stop every time we see a human, we can be mistaken for a criminal."

"Rubber," said Kei. "A criminal ready to sell organs." The girl smiled and continued her words as Zeyn turned to him. "I'd rather be called that."

"Huf." Zeyn. "OK if so. Let's go again." Fortunately the humans were busy chatting and not paying attention to them at all.

"Actually, there's something I've wanted to ask you since," Kei said hesitantly. Zeyn frowned. "What?"

"Why do you want to look for a little girl?"

Clora replied, "Because she might be able to help us."

"Help like what?" Ask Kei again.

"You can see for yourself later. The most important thing is, we have to take him to Fae territory" Zeyn said. They stopped talking when they saw a tall building. Just like the description of the old woman. 35-story building with its unique building infrastructure and different from others. The balcony of each room is shaped like the letter V.

"Zey." Clora whispered nearby. At that moment he felt something strange. On one of the uppermost room windows, he could faintly see the light of Light from within the room. Around the window, the shape of the light became strange as he narrowed his eyes. Perhaps if the one who sees is the human eye, they will ignore it. However, the light made anyone who was in it think that it was already night.

"Don't tell me.. Has anyone come for her?" Whisper Kei from behind. Zeyn clenched his hand. He could feel the wind beginning to gather on his fist. "Let's beat him up."

***

I thrashed around, trying my best to untie my hand. This Fae who was in front of me only smiled with satisfaction. "Already, Clara. You can't run away from me."

His hand was still emitting light, but not to attack me. Hearing this commotion, Jon and Stef hurriedly walked out of my room, yet they did not look directly at me.

"Here!" Shouts, but free. They heard my screams, but could not see me. "Clarah! Where are you?!" Shouted Jon. They entered the toilet and searched for me in the living room and kitchen, even though I was in front of the entrance.

Fae who was in front of me smiled again. "They can't see you. Thanks to my magic." The light in his palm grew brighter. "It's enough of a game." Smile disappeared. I was surprised to see a serious expression on his face. It looks different than before and also scary.

"What do you want from me?" I asked without hesitation. "Why should I come with you?"

"Pretend not to know?" He looked at me again with his big, big eyes. "Tell me why you killed my people."

"Your lady?!" My spray. I really don't understand what he means. "I didn't even know that Fae really existed! I-"

He did not continue his words, the window of my apartment was broken. There were three robed people who suddenly appeared inside my apartment. This time, Jon and Stef could see them. They immediately stared and just stared with wide eyes.

"Take him off, Chrys," said one of them in a heavy voice. I still can't see the figure behind the hood.

"Zeyn?" That Fae released his grip on me, then laughed out loud. "I never thought I'd see you again."

"I didn't expect it either." The man took off his hood, revealing his light brown hair. It is also Fae, because it has taper ears and a tall body. "If you hurt him"

"Who are you?!" Shouting Stef. I almost forgot my two friends who had just stayed in the corner of the room. "Be careful! I'll call the cops"

"Be quiet, man." Fae, who turns out to be named Chrys, starts throwing his light at Stef. He screamed, surprised when he finally saw me who was being held captive.

Stef is moving less quickly. The light hit him, smashing his body into the wall. "Stef!" Jon ran to him.

"Why did you come here, Chrys?" Follow the other hooded man. A female voice, I thought. "I thought you were being held in the Prisoner Class."

"What is your business?" The yellow light started to light up again. Without warning, Chrys began attacking the three Fae with his magic. But the man was able to dodge his attacks well. He also stretched out his hand, before long a strong wind hit us. I bow my head to protect myself.

"Don't bother me, Zeyn!" They attacked each other relentlessly, while the other two Fae instead approached Stef and Jon. "Don't approach them!" I stood up, though both hands were still tied. In a hurry, I approached my two helpless friends.

The two Fae finally took off their robes. Their little wings are gray. One had silvery-white fine hair, and the other had dense black hair. Both girls are very pretty.

"Come with us, little girl," said the black-haired girl. "We'll protect you!"

"I can protect myself" I said as I tried to protect my two friends. "What's really going on?!" Shouted Jon from behind me. "Are you okay, Clara?"

"Shut up, Jon," I said annoyed. The shadow of my two friends who betrayed me in my room still haunts me. "I can handle this."

"No, you can't" said the white-haired girl. He shook his head, then began to reach into the pocket of his robe. I saw a strange powder emerging from his palm. "We'll explain everything. Please believe us."

"Why should I trust a guy who just barges into my apartment?" I said half screaming. I turned my head and saw two men who were still busy casting their magic. "And just destroyed my house!"

"Clar!" Shouted Chrys, still while watching Zeyn who turned out to be battered on the floor. "Don't listen to them!"

"Claras?" Said the black haired girl. "Who do you trust more here, son?"

I clenched my hands, still standing in front of my friends to protect them. Jon seemed to have risen to his feet, now stretching out his arms to protect me. I'm hissing.

"Let's get out of here" Jon whispered to me, his eyes still staring at the two Fae before me fixedly. "I'll distract you."

"Clora, don't let her run away!" Zeyn's resurgent shout, now punching Chrys that was lying on the floor.

"Clara, please," said Fae's girl again. I just looked at him. "You're not safe. Chrys can hurt you."

Stef had taken my hand from behind, then pulled it, hinting me to take action immediately.

"You're wrong" I said as I glanced at the door of the room from the corner of the eye. "I can protect myself." After that, I pulled Stef towards the door. There was an explosion and a shout of anger from behind, but I could not turn my head. All I heard the moment I opened the door was Jon's loud scream.
