Wings & Dreams

Wings & Dreams
Ch.7 - Angry Girl

Jon was lying on the bed. Staring at the unfamiliar ceiling of the roof, he tried to expel his thoughts regarding Clara. The girl, the girl he once loved, had now completely changed. Jon wasn't sure what the reason was, and since when did he start to change. All he knows now is that the girl prefers strange creatures over her.

That strange creature was definitely not a human. At first he thought they were wearing some kind of costume, that they had a strange hobby. Apparently not. One of the creatures let out a strange light a few minutes ago. He also noticed that his movements were different from those of humans in general, much more graceful and elegant.

The wings stuck on his back were also genuine.

"I'm crazy" he murmured with goosebumps. Even more strangely, he did not scream or feel frightened. The creatures inexplicably provide calm and peace.

Jon no longer wants to think about this. So he got up from his bed and walked on the cold floor. His footsteps stopped in front of the window of his room, and he immediately flicked away the red curtains blocking his view.

Many times he went back and forth against the window, and many times he was amazed by the outside view. Another cottage house surrounded by the creatures. This place must be really far from the city.

He removed the curtains and then brushed them off again, hoping that this was all a lie and he would no longer see the winged creatures. But his eyes still see the same thing.

Jon ruffled his hair due to stress, then flopped down on the floor while pulling both of his knees against his chest. His head was leaned against the wall and he closed his eyes.

The shadow of Clara who looked like one of them came back to haunt him. Fake butter and abnormal height. The girl looks very different and much more seductive.

Jon bit his lower lip. A few hours ago, he slipped out of the room to fetch water, unwilling to cross paths with anyone when he heard Clara's familiar giggling voice. He immediately followed the direction of the voice and found the girl in front of the entrance.

His heart immediately hurt. Actually he wanted to apologize for the treatment of him last night, but it seemed like the girl no longer cared.

Jon got up from the cold floor, then opened the doorknob.

The sound of the door creaking made his heart race. He immediately looked in all directions, checking if someone had seen him, but the house seemed empty and silent. Jon sighed and finally let down his footsteps.

He arrived at a room with mini sofas. This must be the living room, he thought as he fumbled over the furniture of this house. He had imagined he would find a winged chair or a flying saucer. Maybe a puppet could talk. But this house looks normal.

"How's the condition?" The heavy voice of someone sounded from a distance at the end of the corridor. Jon immediately panicked and hurriedly looked for a place to hide. His eyes looked at the black cabinet that might be able to load his body, then he immediately hid there and opened a slight gap to peek.

That creature again. A man he saw last in Clara's apartment. He was with the white winged woman who had taken care of him. They seemed unaware of his presence.

"Lumayan healthy. Even if you still need rest" replied the woman. "Why is that?"

"No," he said with a smile. That smile somehow instilled a bad feeling in him. The smile was clearly shown to captivate the hearts of women. As a fellow man, Jon knew full well the hidden intent of that seductive gaze. Disgusting, he thought annoyed.

"I think we should get him back" the woman continued. "Well anyway, that girl is all you need, while she's useless."

"Have you seen Clara?" Ask the man. "And check if he can actually predict through his dreams?"

"Zeyn," the woman shook her head. "I'm a Fae Healer. My job is to heal people." The woman almost glanced at the cabinet where Jon was hiding. Luckily the lights weren't on, so they didn't see it.

"Then let's let the friend stay here" said the man. He moved his hand a little. A gentle wind was instantly created, even Jon could feel it from here. "And I think you can get out of your hiding place. I can smell you, man."

Jon kicked the cabinet door. The woman's eyes were wide. "You, what's-"

"You crazy!" He shouted as he grabbed a glass glass located on the table. He threw it at the man. However, he moved quickly and was able to dodge his attacks. "Tell of the future?! How could Clara possibly do that?!"

The woman immediately stuttered. "To-please listen du-fore-"

"There, don't be nervous." Zeyn even casually crossed the distance between them. Jon suddenly felt like a coward for retreating away from them. "I can explain."

"Explain what?" A female voice sounded from the opposite direction. Jon and the two men turned their heads and found another girl with black hair. Jon was stunned to see his beautiful face, although he had seen it also in Clara's apartment. "What's this storm?" The girl's eyes finally landed onto her face. "Oh."

"Clora, please calm him down," the man said in a heartwarming tone. The girl moved her right hand. Instantly the wind gusts and pushes Jon's body towards them. Jon thrashed, but the wind seemed to lock his legs.

"Why does every human being react that way every time they see us?" The girl shook her head and laughed. "We don't bite."

"Take him to his room, and lock him up until he no longer attacks us" the man said before he stepped away. Jon protested. "Locked in?! So I'm your prisoner now?!"

The question was not answered. The white-winged Fae was also gone. What was left was now the black-haired girl who met his gaze.

"What?!"

"Huh?" Jon scrunched his forehead. "Why get angry-tempered-"

"Don't give me a look like that, man," he sighed. He then pulled his arm violently, bringing him back to the room. Jon had not yet opened his mouth, he had already been thrown into his room. There was a sound of a locked door from outside.

Jon banged on the bedroom door. He used his arm to break the door. "Braught you!"

"Whisper!" Shouted the girl earlier before the sound of her leg stomping echoed in the corridor. Jon just shook his head in disbelief. He has the right to be angry because he has been arrested. Maybe the girl had a bad temper.
