After Chrys took me inside his house, I immediately ran towards the toilet and vomited all my stomach contents. It seems like I won't be able to adapt and get used to every time I'm taken flying by a Fae.
"Woah, slow down" Chrys said as he leaned against the wall. His eyes continue to watch me like I am an amusement to him. "You've been fed what's the same Fae Ventus?"
"What...you mean?" Then, my throat choked and I again littered the closet. Two minutes later, my nausea finally disappeared and I immediately cleared everything.
"Green," Chrys said as he clenched his lips as he peeked at the color of my vomit. "So, let me guess. You were fed grass by her."
"Shut up!" Basic sucks! My name is in my heart. "You don't know what I've been through for five days! And this is all because of you!"
"Me?" He laughed out loud. "Don't blame myself for getting you out of that house too late."
"Don't lie! Since when do you intend to get me out?!" I screamed directly in his face. "You tricked me! You deliberately handed me over directly to those boys!"
Chrys smirked instead. "Craud, huh?" He brought his face closer to my face. "I didn't think you were this stupid. Didn't you tell yourself that I'm a bad person?"
I was just gawking, unable to speak. His words are right too. Why did I think from the beginning that he would save me? I should have thought logically, that a man like him would never do that.
Being struck by shame, I said nothing more and closed my eyes.
"What are you doing?" Chrys asked confusedly. But I try not to ignore it. I almost forgot that I was in a dream. I would do anything to wake up to the real world. I'd go crazy for a long time if I kept meeting with Chrys.
However, nothing happened. No light drew me into the real world. There is no miracle. There was only the sound of Chrys breathing that I could feel so close to my face.
"Do humans like to sleep standing up?"
I clenched my hands and tried not to listen to her teasing.
It's freaky. I was clearly dreaming. I should have woken up in the real world, returned to Zeyn's custody.
There was the sound of a small laugh from Chrys, then I could hear his footsteps that had been moving away from me. "You don't believe that I got you out and freed you from Zeyn?"
Is that reality? I hate myself for doubting that. But how? Am I in the real world? So that wasn't a dream anymore?
"You must be wondering in your heart. You can't tell the dream world from reality."
I finally opened my eyes, and found Chrys staring at me.
"Yes" I replied. "Do you have any explanation for this?"
"I can't give you a definitive answer, but I'm not lying. I always see you in a different place, for no apparent reason."
This time, I believed him, because of his serious face. "Then, what does it mean that I can move through my dreams?"
Chrys shrugged both of his shoulders. "It looks like it is."
I remember my friend Rio. How he yelled at me, saying that I was there too at Dain's death. Maybe that statement is true. I can move through my dreams.
All this became clearer after a few hours. This is the real world. The proof is I'm still here.
Because I was busy thinking, I no longer snapped and tried to escape the Chrys house. I didn't even protest when we had lunch together, which of course surprised him not to play.
"So, after this you're gonna do what?" Chrys asked as he devoured a spoonful of strange-looking beaded powder. I'm not at all curious about it.
"What do you mean?"
Chrys had already gotten up from his chair and was sitting on his bed. The hut where he lives is indeed narrow not playing, so there is no dining room or wall divider between the rooms, except for the bathroom of course.
"I mean like your hobby. What do you usually do in your spare time?" Ask again.
In spare time? What do I usually like to do? I had my own bookshelf in my room in my old apartment, so of course the thing I would do other than work as a writer was to read books.
"Writing and reading books" I answered briefly.
"Oh." Chrys's face looked disappointed.
"Why? Very boring, huh?"
I immediately shook my head.
Chrys clicked his tongue, and looked at me full of pity. "There's so much pity. If I were you, maybe I'd be tired of waiting for death."
"Why indeed?" My cheeks are starting to heat up. "What can I do again?"
The man immediately got up from the bed and no longer lounged. "Doing something dangerous."
Whahuh? I haven't had time to voice my thoughts, Chrys has already taken something out from under his bed, then pulled out two sword blades.
I gasped and reflexed my steps back. "You really want to kill me now?"
One of the swords was suddenly thrown at me. I screamed and covered my face with my palm.
"You should have caught him," Chrys said in a displeased tone. There were footsteps, then he grabbed the sword that had fallen on the floor.
"Train with me."
"You crazy?! I would never touch such a dangerous item!"
"Then from that, I give you a chance now." Chrys forcibly pulled my hand, then placed the long sword in my hand.
"No, Chrys." I still refused and nodded. "I'll never use that thing."
"But this is your chance." He still urges me. "Take this exercise to prepare yourself if you encounter danger."
"I'm not like you, who will always meet danger and be the target of everyone," I replied not to lose.
"Thank you for the compliment."
"I'd better read a book." I walked away from him and glanced here and there, but saw nothing suitable to be described as a book.
"You think I'm gonna keep that boring thing in my house?" Chrys threw away his sword just like that, then sighed.
"alright. Besides, I also have no job," he muttered, then suddenly grabbed my wrist.
"Hey! What are you-"
He just threw my body into his bed.
"C-Chrys." My body began to tremble in fear at his impromptu behavior. I immediately hugged my body, trying to protect myself. "I'm sorry for all my mistakes, so don't do it i-"
He crouched down and pulled something out from under his bed.
A familiar book, my favorite book since childhood.
"I'm not a God, so don't confess my sins in front of me." He sat down next to me and began to open the book.
It felt like my entire fear was absorbed and just disappeared. I walked up to him and sat down next to him, like nothing had happened before.
"This book. Where'd you get it?"
I did not see his usual smile. Still groping the cover of the book, Chrys opened his mouth. "I just got it from somewhere."
After that, I don't really remember what happened. We read books together. Together. Me and Chrys. Of course I never thought I would do this with a dangerous man, who could threaten my life at any time.
"And they end up living happily ever after." Chrys read the book's last sentence while frowning. "Huh. This book is more boring than I thought."
I lifted my head and realized that the sun had set. My eyes are sleepy.
"Chrys," murmured. "I'm sleepy."
Wait for. Did I just lie next to him? What have I done? I really don't know ethics! My inner.
Fortunately, the man said nothing more. He cast his magic on his palm, and instantly there appeared stars glittering on the wall of the black-painted room.
I closed my eyes, and placed my head on a soft pillow. Without thinking about Chrys's whereabouts, I've been relaxing on his bed.
"Chrys, why did you save me?" I murmured, but I did not have time to hear the answer because I had fallen asleep.
