Ch.24 - Back

Meanwhile in the human territory...

The sound of the car horn shocked Kei, and his ash magic was instantly uncontrollable.

"Woah, relax!" The man next to him immediately calmed him down, although he did not see directly because he was blind. "It's just the sound of a passing car."

"What sound?" Kei is still on standby. The girl looked back and forth, her face looking tense.

"Car. It's nothing" Jon replied, chuckling. "I know you're interested in human life. You should know what our lives are like."

"Well, you're not wrong." Now Kei has returned to his body. Not for a day, they had managed to return to the city of Ratterdam. The city still looks the same and clear by Kei, but different for Jon because of his current condition.

Kei glanced at the human man beside him. "Ready to go home?"

And only answered by silence.

"You should be excited. You've always wanted to go back to your home region, right?"

Jon just shrugged his shoulders. "Yes. But not anymore."

Kei suddenly felt guilty towards this one human. This guy is really fucking shit. In addition to being blind, he also lost a friend who might be able to forever.

"Jon, it's actually me-"

"No need to apologize." Jon hurriedly raised his hand. "I can feel your aura from here, you know. You're looking at me with regret."

"But I have to apologize. I'm also guilty of bringing you into our territory."

"Huh," replied Jon. "Yes, it's your fault. But I'm still more upset with that arrogant guy."

"Maybe that time he just lost control of his emotions. It's not usually like that. Usually he is gentle and patient." Kei tried to defend the Ventus Chairman.

"I don't understand you" Jon replied. "Obviously he attacked you and Clara. He's no longer the man you know. Zeyn is like-"

"Jon?" Not yet had Jon continued his words, someone had already called him.

"Stefs?" His whisper.

Stef can't believe what he just saw. From a distance, he had thought repeatedly that the man who was being swept was Jon. And his appearance looks different. The clothes he wore were not his style at all, coupled with the girl Fae had kidnapped him, now even busy chatting with him to not pay attention to the road.

"Stefs?" As the man called his name and turned his head, he could clearly see his face that had originally been bowed. His eyes were opening, revealing the new color of his eyeballs.

He just needs to use help to walk.

"What happened to you?!" Stef immediately pulled the body of his friend away from the girl Fae. Although he wore a hood to cover up his identity, Stef knew exactly who he was.

Fortunately Oswald soon caught up with him. Now they were in front of the police station, so it would be very easy for them to catch this girl Fae.

Oswald looked just as surprised as Jon suddenly reappeared.

"Catch her!" Needless to say, he immediately told people to catch the mysterious hooded girl.

"What the fuck?! I brought him here!" Kei tried to defend himself. Even though both of his hands were now being held back, he could actually easily escape with his magic. But of course the idea was crazy, using her magic in the midst of the humans.

"Stef, it's okay. You can trust him" said Jon.

"You sure?! He's the one who's been taking you away and disappearing for weeks!"

"Not him," Jon replied in a serious tone. "This is all Zeyn's. It's not her."

"I don't want to hear your defense, Jon!" Now Kei has been taken into the police building. The girl just fell silent, not fighting back.

"And why are you alone? Where's Clara?"

"Something happened" Jon replied hesitantly. "He gave himself up completely to Zeyn to bring me back here."

"What?!" Stef held onto his forehead which was starting to get dizzy. "How is he doing? Why is he being held there?!"

Jon did not reply to her, which made him even more worried.

"I don't know," he finally opened his voice. "Stefs. After I think about it, it's all my fault."

"Now is not the time for self-blame" said Stef. "We have to work together to bring Clara home"

"No, Stef." Jon shook his head. The blind man's face suddenly changed. I don't know what he suddenly remembered. "I don't blame myself, because it's my fault. At that time, someone intentionally injured me in order to lure Clara to go to Fae territory."

"And who is it? Do you remember that?"

"Yes" he whispered confidently. "At that time, Zeyn hurt me. I don't really remember her conversation with Clara, but I do remember she deliberately accused Chrys."
