Wings & Dreams
Ch.16 - Start Suspicious

Kei was still in Jon's room. He was already prepared to be on standby, just in case the man came back to attack him like back then. But because of the condition of his eyes that are almost blind, Jon will not be able to touch a single thread.

"Explain to me!" He shouted for the hundredth time. "Why can't I see anything!"

"Huft," said Kei. "I'll explain it if you sit down sweetly and promise not to attack me."

"Why not?! You guys deserve to be attacked!"

"Oh yeah?" Kei deliberately created wind from his palm, then threw it towards Jon. His black hair became blown away, and the man immediately shivered.

"You forgot what I could do if you dared to touch me?"

Jon was silent as he clenched his hand. Without saying anything else, he immediately felt the wall and looked for a way, and finally sat back on the bed.

"There's Fae powder in your eyes."

"Ser... what powder?" He immediately touched her open eyes, and unintentionally struck her. "Aw!"

"Bas stupid," muttered Kei while shaking his head. "Fae Powder. Fae Ventus's. It weakens your eye nerves."

"The season?! If I don't remember wrongly, that's what Fae calls you guys, right? So you guys did this to me on purpose?!"

"Not me!" Kei said half-screaming. Then he exhaled. Patience, Kei. Don't get high blood because of this stupid man.

"But take it easy" he said to calm her down. "Take it as ordinary dust. Maybe you'll just be blind."

"BUTTA?!" Jon squeezed his own hair. "Just going blind?! You say that it's no big deal!"

Perhaps for her as a Fae, being blind was no big deal. Because a creature like himself could still rely on his sharp hearing.

"What's your vision really bad?"

Jon blinked his eyes repeatedly, then deliberately widened them. But his view is still blurry. He still saw nothing but a cloud of ash that was like a cataract in his eyes.

"It's bad" whispered Kei. "I'm sad too."

Jon bergeming. In his brain, he still swallowed all the information that was like an impromptu blow to him. Now he is blind. Blind, meaning you cannot see. Blind, meaning that he had to wear a cane to walk like his grandfather who was now very old. He was only 20 years old, but God gave him a very hard time.

All his life, Jon never cried, except when he was born into this world of course. Even if he is sad, he can still hold his emotions and will not shed tears. After all, he was a strong man who did not fall easily.

"Jon.." muttered Kei slowly. The girl really felt guilty. "Listen to me, Jon."

Jon said nothing. Everything's free. Want how hard he rebelled, want how hard he tried, in the end he has experienced the consequences. And he realized, from the beginning, it was his fault.

Clara was only trying to help him at that moment. At that time in the apartment, he could not remember clearly because his head was suddenly bent by a sharp and hard object, and he fell unconscious. When he woke up, his eyes were tied and his stomach was stabbed.

At that time, he was actually conscious, but he could not make a sound. He still remembers the moment Clara hugged his head sobbing, whispered his name repeatedly, really feeling devastated because the girl thought he was gone, but he just couldn't make a sound.

Who could do that to me? Inward in the heart. Who intentionally injured me and lured Clara to have her follow these three Fae into their territory?

"Jon?" Kei called him again. "Are you okay?"

Jon still didn't reply to the girl. Because he doesn't know who he really should trust.

As he is healed by the healing woman, he gets an explanation from her, that the one who has injured him is an evil Fae named Chrys.

"Chrys's? Si...what is he?" Asked Jon who was still lying on the bed at that time. He was still not fully recovered, so did not have much energy to just talk.

"Bad frail. He was a Fae Light. His magic is dangerous, because he is talented and can manipulate light."

"Why dangerous?"

Jon could hear the sound of a sigh. At that time he was still half conscious and did not dare to open his eyes, so he did not know that the woman was actually a Fae.

He remembered that faint conversation now.

"Every person, whether human, Fae, or monster, needs light to see. But a Fae Light can bend light, and make it invisible."

Jon remained silent. At that moment, his head was already throbbing, and he knew there was little time left before he returned to his sleep. Based on the explanation of the woman's voice, Chrys must have been someone who was very strong, he thought at that time, still half-conscious that what he thought was not human.

"I wasn't there at the time of the incident, so I didn't really understand" the woman's voice continued. "Said Zeyn, who found and saved you was Zeyn and his friends. Fortunately Chrys had already been successfully dealt with by them."

The zeyn? Who her? He was about to open his mouth, but his body refused to do so.

The darkness immediately pulled him back. Now, even now, that one question keeps spinning in his brain.

"So they managed to eradicate Chrys? Then why are they so afraid of him, and always trying to avoid him?"
