"Did we kill him?"
"No. The main objective of our mission is the genius alchemist. We have to extract information from this man to find out his whereabouts."
"alright... But let me knock out both his hands and his other leg."
"Stop... Keep the artifact away from me!"
Dor!!! Dor!!! Dor!!!
"Akhhhh....."
Three bullets hit the calf and both arms over the blue priest. Now, the blue priest could only roll around on the floor trying to alleviate the pain he was experiencing.
"That's enough. I'll call Zeff....."
"Oh great Lord Jack, accept this soul of mine in the heaven which you have made. Soul offerings!"
The hoarse cry of the blue priest cut off Christopher's speech. It looked as if a black-colored wisp flowed from the soul container attached to the magic wand in his hand.
The black blob flowed down the stick and down the blue priest's hand until it reached his chest. All parts of his body suffered convulsions and flesh-freezing that crossed the normal limits of the body.
The five of them were immediately wary of the changes the blue priest was going through. Mina immediately shouted at the others, "Don't let it go. Let's take this guy out as soon as possible!"
Tang! Tang! Tang!
Alex attacked him first before Mina's sentence ended.
As the bullet shot towards the blue priest, the dark aura enveloping his body counteracted the three bullets' rate.
"Double wind knife!"
"Fire ball!"
The pressure that the dark aura exuded caused them to be unable to approach the blue priest easily. Jean and Christopher are forced to attack using their magic from a distance, while Mina who has run out of mana can only watch the situation anxiously.
Just like Alex's shot, the two attacks Jean and Christopher were unable to touch the blue priest at all.
Then Alex watched Big Three take three steps forward.
Thanks to the lapse of time after his mana reserves were exhausted, now the Big Three had a small amount of mana he could use to strengthen his body.
He empties his mana reserves that have just been filled in small quantities, and drains them to all parts of the body.
Then he narrowed the distance in the blink of an eye, while enduring the pressure of the dark aura with his pure physique that was comparable to Alex's main body physical strength.
"This pressure is nothing!!!"
The Big Three arrived in front of the blue priest then raised a fist that flowed mana.
A powerful punch struck the face, or the part that the Big Three said was the head of the former blue priest's black flesh bulge.
Bam!!!
A black lump of flesh smashed into the wall of the room until it suffered a huge crack.
After the dust disappeared, his fifth expression grew increasingly tense as the pressure of the dark aura emitted grew heavier. They also noticed the Big Three's previous attack did not inflict the slightest damage to the black blob!
"What... What do we do now?"
Mina's legs shook withholding her brain's order to escape. During his time as an adventurer, he had never experienced a situation where his death percentage was close to one hundred percent.
Then he noticed the others. Although the four of them showed anxious expressions, they remained in a fighting position with no intention of escaping from the room. Even Jean, a woman much younger than him remained standing firm in her position.
"You four run. I will finish him off with my strongest attack!"
"Whatchu mean?
Jean thinks Alex wants to sacrifice himself to save the four of them.
"But then you will....."
"Just calm down, I'll leave a little mana and make a ground shield for myself. Go quickly, just trust me!"
Alex interrupts Big Three's sentence telling the four of them to immediately rush off the location.
Alex's eyes exuded a strong conviction, making Big Three nod firmly and reassuring the others. "I saw it with my own eyes before. He had a land element other than the fire element he had displayed all along. If we stay here, we'll just be a burden to protect Alex. Just trust me and leave the rest to Alex!"
Christopher felt dissatisfied and clenched his hands tightly. "If you die here, I'll build your grave with the stupidest adventurous inscription ever!"
He turned around then stepped along with the others leaving the basement.
"Now we both live. I'm gonna blow your whole body to nothing!"
Alex took the stance of the horses and poured a large amount of mana into both palms.
Now, the reserve of mana was only half left. The mana required to produce a large amount of fire was only a small part of his mana reserves. What drained him the most during the battle was when he punched and controlled a basketball-sized fireball, with many magic particles contained within it.
The wussssssh.....
The flames were created in the middle of Alex's palm. He pressed it to form a basketball the size of a basketball and kept repeating it for a while.
'This is still not enough!'
The pressure of the fireball in his hand now matched the fireball he had created while exterminating the entire damned creature in the tunnel.
However given the Big Three's previous attack, he felt this was still not enough!
He continued to pour a lot of fire into the ball, leaving five percent of his total mana reserves.
"Hey rotten creature, eat this ball!"
Alex pushes both his hands forward while keeping the fireball from exploding. The fireball floated slowly, towards a figure that began to manifest a human-like shape, with a size that almost touched the ceiling of the basement.
As if hearing Alex's words, the creature opened the part that Alex thought was his mouth, then swallowed the fireball that floated towards him whole.
"Bas an idiot!"
While maintaining control of the fireball the creature had swallowed, Alex painstakingly created a thick, half-cone-like wall of earth with the tip of the cone in front, to strengthen his self-defense from the imminent explosion.
Along with his mana being depleted, his control of the fireball finally disappeared.
Booommmm.....
***
"The explosion is very powerful!"
Big Three nodded in agreement to Christopher's words. "I was even surprised when he exterminated an entire cursed creature in the tunnel back then."
The four of them were currently at the location where Zeff had hidden himself. Zeff's expression seemed anxious about Alex's condition, which they left alone there. "Are you sure Alex survived the blast?"
"Before I saw him use the earth element to survive the explosion. But look at the magnitude of this explosion, hahh..." Big Three shook his head in uncertainty.
Hearing that, Zeff grew increasingly concerned for Alex's safety. If he had previously seen Alex as a genius talent, now he saw her as a monster that had even hidden the existence of his dual element all along. He was confident Alex could reach the mithril rank within the next hundred years.
'No, it might even take fifty years!'
Zeff's expression sank even more thinking about it. "Let's check on him now!"
He's getting impatient to save Alex as soon as possible.
"But..."
Christopher held onto Mina's shoulder and shook his head cutting off her speech. "Unlike the three of us, he has a more radiant path ahead of him. I really don't want to admit this. But I'm sure, he'll precede me as one of The Numbers in the future."
Mina was silent with Christopher's words. The others only smiled wryly hearing his confidence, then the five of them jumped off the roof and ran towards the location of the previous battle.
