Threatening With Hostages

"This is all that's left." Alex takes out the last three recovery potions from the inventory after successfully killing the five cursed creatures that attacked them.

Alex and his clone drank one potion each and Alex extended the last one to Owen.

"Does the village chief need this potion?"

"Actually my wounds aren't as bad as yours. But other than healing the wound, the rest of the potion in the body can replenish a bit of my mana reserves that are already running out." Owen was somewhat embarrassed to receive the precious recovery potion from Alex for the second time.

"Then the village chief must drink it. We must increase our chances of successfully killing Tio and saving this village."

Owen nodded accepting the potion from Alex's hand and immediately drank it.

"Alex, out! I know you're around here, hihihihi." Tio's voice rang out from a distance as they were recuperating.

"That rotten woman." Alex shouted furiously with a stifled voice.

"Let's take a peek at what he's doing." Owen spoke coldly holding back the angry feeling in his chest.

"Get out Alex! Otherwise, I will kill Mathias and Nina. Are you gonna let them die at my hands?"

Alex, the clone, and Owen looked at each other after hearing Tio's cry.

His third breath hunts down wanting to immediately kill the rotten woman who uses hostages to lure Alex out.

"Let's get out!" Owen said coldly.

Alex and the clone follow Owen who first walks out through the door of the house.

"Hihihi Alex, are you that coward that you're hiding in the house?" Fifty meters from Alex's position, Tio mocked them while laughing.

Behind Tio, Alex sees two creatures each holding Mathias and Nina with their hands and feet tied and their mouths shut.

Although both of them were covered in wounds, Alex was amazed to see the two of them not crying even Mathias and Nina's eyes did not look scared at all.

"Take them both off!" Threaten Alex with a cold voice.

"Oh what would you do if I didn't let them go?" Tio laughed in response to Alex.

"I'm not going to repeat it again. Let them both go!" Alex pulls the gun out of the inventory and points it at Tio.

Tio was afraid to see the gun Alex pointed at him. He orders the two cursed creatures as body shields to withstand the attack from Alex's gun.

"Tu-down your artifact, otherwise I'll stab this knife!" Tio stuttered but remained menacing with a knife taped to Nina's neck.

This is what Alex is worried about. If Tio used Nina or Mathias as hostages, then he could do nothing.

The empty threat of the gun in his hand became useless because the bullets in the gun were gone.

Giving the gun to his clone, Alex stepped forward empty-handed. "Take them both off! I'll turn myself in and you're free to do anything to me."

"Hihihihi, it turns out you're that weak. Come here first."

"No, you let them go first. Otherwise my twin brother Leon will attack with that artifact. Do you want to bet that your heavenly protection will still save your life like before?"

Alex's clone who was standing at the back raised the gun following Alex's words.

Tio frowned clearly afraid of Alex's threat. But he still disagreed with the proposal. "What if it turns out you're gonna run off with these two kids if I let them go?"

Alex could not retaliate because that was the goal of giving such a threat.

A moment of silence, Alex nodded. "Well I'll get close, but if you don't let them go after I've been captured by these creatures, you'll have the consequences."

"Leon, if this woman does not release the two children, attack as much as possible with the artifacts I give you! There's no need to worry if the attack kills me as long as the woman dies." Alex pretends to threaten by shouting loudly for Tio to hear him.

"Do it! Did you go against your brother's orders?"

"All right Alex." Alex's clone pretended to have a stern expression on his face despite the sadness there.

"Are you sure?" Owen whispered from behind his clone.

"Just calm down, I'll tell you everything later." Answer Alex's clone with a whisper that only Owen hears.

Alex walked slowly with his bare hands towards Tio and the group of cursed creatures around him.

A few meters from there, Alex put on a soft face and turned his head to Mathias and Nina. "The two of you run away and immediately go towards the village chief and my twin brother."

This time Mathias and Nina are seen crying as much as Alex says and does to save them.

Although both the boy's mouths are held captive by cloth, Alex can see both of them wanting to talk and refute Alex's advice.

"Do you think this bad woman can kill me? Take it easy, I'll be back safely." Alex tried to put on a gentle smile and did not look worried despite being close to dozens of cursed creatures.

"Take off their bond and let them go!" Alex's cold voice gave Tio some goosebumps.

"Take them both off!" Tio's orders to the damned creature that held the two children.

After all, the main target of this mission is Alex. After Alex dies, no one can make cheap medicine that can cure their man-made plague.

After making sure Alex dies head on, Tio is able to get out of the village and allow dozens of cursed creatures themselves to destroy and kill the remaining villagers of Rod.

"Go away, don't worry about me!" Alex urged the two to run immediately.

Hearing Alex's slightly loud tone of voice, Mathias knows that she and her sister will only be a burden to Alex.

He immediately carried Nina on his back and ran towards the village chief and Owen who was fifty meters away from them.

"Let the artifact in your hand! Otherwise this thing will break your brother's neck." Threaten Tio to Alex's clone who is still holding a gun at him.

After Mathias and Nina are near them, Alex's clone lowers the gun following Tio's words.

Tio was afraid that if he killed Alex in front of his brother, then Alex's brother would attack them with artifacts blindly.

Tio retreated from the location and went towards the direction of the village gate carrying Alex who was being held captive and guarded by the five cursed creatures.

"What should we do? They took Alex." Owen asked worriedly while holding back Nina who looked like she wanted to go towards Alex.

Mathias on the other hand was seen closing his eyes holding back the rushing tears while clenching his hands tightly.

"We go back to the village chief's house. I'll explain it on the way later." Alex's clone calmly replied.

In the middle of the road, Alex's clone explains that the one with Tio is just his clone that can be made within a day.

Alex lies that if it's his main body, he doesn't want to tell anyone about his ability to come back to life if there's one clone left.

Owen still could not believe Alex's words. In his entire life, he had never seen someone who possessed two origin magic simultaneously.

Alex convinces Owen by demonstrating his inventory skills by removing and putting things in.

"I still can't make a clone because it has a period of use that is one time in one day." Alex kept lying for his own safety, "If we survive this, I'll show my skills to the village chief later." Alex continues.

"Alright if that's what's really going on." Owen nodded calmly dispelling his previous worries.

Mathias and Nina don't understand origin magic and other talk.

What makes them both calm is that the person in front of them right now turns out to be the real Alex and the one brought by the evil woman was a body made by Alex's abilities.
