Trading With Another World
First Mission (1)

"Drip your blood on this badge, this badge will connect with you through a soul connection. If this badge is not near you within five minutes, it will turn black and unidentifiable. But take it easy, when you touch it back, the badge will be back to normal." Zeff explained every usefulness of the badge given by the adventurer guild.

The adventurer ranks consist of wood, bronze, silver, gold, mithril, and adamantium.

The wood and bronze rank did not get the magic badge like Alex was holding at the moment.

If one were to become silver-ranked, the adventurer guild would give out magic badges for free that would be used forever.

Of course if there was an increase in rank to gold or above, the adventurer guild would ask for the badge previously awarded, then change the design of the badge to depict the rank of the adventurer.

Although others could not abuse one's adventurer badge, sometimes an adventurer lost his badge.

If that were to happen, the adventurer guild would ask the adventurer for the cost of remaking the badge, at the cost of one gold coin.

Alex bites his finger and drops blood on the badge Zeff gave him.

The badge was seen emitting a colorful glow for a while, before the light went out.

Zeff saw that everything was going well and nodded. "How far has your ability to flow?"

In general, someone who can drain mana from the body has a minimum of three thousand existence points.

Although Alex did not inform him in advance, the value that the adventurer guild's measuring stone showed couldn't possibly be wrong. That's what he thinks.

"Hm... I can stream mana into the weapons I touch." Alex answered by half lying.

Zeff nodded happily. With this, a talented adventurer had been born in their city, Xyras!

'Before my system status increases, maybe I should hide that I can realize magic.' Alex thought in his heart.

They talked for a moment before Alex left the room.

Alex went down the stairs to the first floor with all his attention focused on him.

"Look at the young man's waist! He had just signed up, but was already ranked silver." Someone murmured in admiration to his drinking buddy.

"Well... Scarface's looking for trouble with the wrong person." Said someone else from the next table.

Alex ignored the words of many people who were talking about him and stepped towards the reception desk.

"Welcome back, sir." The beautiful woman at the reception desk smilingly greeted Alex.

Looking at the silver badge pinned on Alex's waist, the woman became more friendly than ever. "I'm sorry, I haven't introduced myself before, my name is Aya."

"I'm Leon." Alex only retaliates briefly displaying his disguise as a mysterious adventurer.

"Master Leon is great. At his young age, it was already in the silver rank." Aya smiled flattering Alex.

Alex ignored Aya's words and asked, "Is there a mission you can suggest for me?"

Aya took out a pile of paper and placed it on the table. He checked the paper carefully.

'Isn't that a scrap of paper from the book I sold to Benzir?' Alex thought to himself.

"There are several class c missions available today. As the first mission, I advise Mr. Leon to choose this mission." Aya handed a paper to Alex.

Alex receives the paper that Aya handed over and reads the contents. Inside there is some information about the mission given, as well as the rewards offered if he successfully completes the mission.

There have been several cases of missing children in the slums of Xyras city.

Half a year ago, two or three children went missing within a month.

But in the months that followed, cases of abductions remained, which resulted in the slum residents becoming worried.

They do not let their children roam outside when the sun begins to sink, and some adults are assigned to take turns to patrol at night.

When they thought the kidnapping was no longer the case, two children mysteriously disappeared from their room.

The child's family knew about it when the mother wanted to wake her child in the morning.

After the incident, the slum residents agreed to raise funds voluntarily, and put forward missions to adventurer guilds to help them.

Since most of the slum residents worked as manual laborers, the funds they could raise were originally only twenty pieces of silver.

"Last month, the slum residents sent out this mission request with a prize of twenty silver coins. There were actually already three groups of adventurers trying to complete this mission, yet they failed due to not getting anything during the investigation. Two days ago, the slum residents added the mission reward to forty pieces of silver in order to speed up the search for the abductors." Aya explained with a sad expression.

"Where is this slum?" Ask Alex.

"Western corner of Xyras city, about an hour's walk from here."

The further to the west, the closer to the borders of the fertile regions and deserts of the Eastern Continent.

Most slum residents are poor people who cannot pay taxes to the city government, so their area is not within the scope of patrols of the city guards.

Although the rewards offered were few when compared to the results of Alex's trade with Benzir, Alex did not want to let more parents lose their children.

He knew how poignant it was to lose a family member, even though it was just a blood-related family at Leonard's orphanage.

"All right, I'll take this mission!" Alex nodded firmly.

Aya smiled happily knowing her advice was accepted. He took Alex's badge, then registered adventurer Leon as the recipient of the mission, before handing over some of the information the previous adventurer had obtained to Alex.

"Although the previous adventurers failed, they wrote down some information that might help you." Said Aya.

Alex received the information, then walked out of the guild hall to immediately go towards the slums.

On the way, he got a good plan to monitor the entire slum. In order to execute his plan, he needed the help of the first clone who was currently leisurely at the golden mattress inn.

The sun was straight overhead when Alex set foot in the slums.

Alex observes the landscape of the building as well as the location he thinks is suitable for the first clone to occupy.

After confirming a location, Alex continued his steps to meet the resident representative who brought the mission to the adventurer guild.

Alex's face turned sad, seeing some small children running around by the roadside in tattered camping clothes. Their bodies were slightly thinner than those of children in general, yet their faces emitted a dazzling smile.

Their appearance is inversely proportional to worried parents. Some housewives were seen drying clothes, while others gathered to form a group talking about something.

Alex arrives at the home address of the slum representative who submitted the mission, based on the information written on the paper.

Geck... Geck... Geck...

"Who are you looking for, son?" A middle-aged woman opened the door.

"Is this Mr. Ron's house?"

"Right, Ron is my husband. Do you need anything with him?"

"Include me Leon, I am an adventurer who receives missions from adventurer guilds." Alex introduced himself while displaying his badge, which showed his identity as a silver-ranked adventurer.
