In the middle of a large courtyard in the center of the village, dozens of people gathered around Alex and a group of eleven Timothi who had just returned from the forest.

In front of our group, Mathias puffed his chest in front of a small six-year-old boy who was running while extending his hand forward.

Alex thinks that the little boy is Nina Mathias' younger sister whom he tells along the way after seeing Mathias catch the boy into his arms as well as boasting heroic stories during his journey in the woods which was made by him.

Remembering Timothi's words about the whereabouts of Mathias and Nina's parents who died six months ago he felt sorry for both of them.

A middle-aged man who had come with Nina walked to the front of Timothi's group, "So how much did you guys get during this trip?"

"We managed to gather as many ingredients as a full bag and four baskets. But we also managed to hunt four deer." Timothi walked forward leading the group.

"Aren't there four fewer baskets than last week? We don't need much food. You shouldn't waste so much time looking for food." The middle-aged man looked a little annoyed at hearing their results on the trip this time.

'So their main goal inside the forest was to gather herbs to make medicinal herbs? Is there a serious disease in this village?' Alex thought he listened to them.

"No village chief, our hunting time is even shorter than last week, yet we spent a lot of time finding people lost in the forest." Timothi's reply threw his responsibility to Alex.

'Damn, didn't we become such good friends during the trip back from the forest? What's up with that kind of reason. And didn't Timothi say he was the son of the village chief? They don't look like father and son here.' Alex glared at Timothi's back with an annoyed look at him for making it their reason, even though he thought that was exactly what happened.

The village chief observed the group for a while then his gaze was fixed on Alex.

"Who is he?" Ask the village chief curiously.

"His name is Alexander, a former slave who was released by the elves and roamed inside the Great Forest." Timothi's answer doesn't explain Alex's whole story of lies.

Alex thought that he would not be interrogated or so by the village chief, "Come on.. You're also coming with Alex it seems the village chief wants to discuss a few things." Timothi said a few steps in front of him and called out to him after seeing Alex speechless on the spot.

'Well, that seems impossible. Seeing that I was an unknown person in this village.'

Inside the village hall Tio and Stevi were seen preparing drinks for all groups while the boys were laying their bodies on the floor releasing all their fatigue.

"Is this still not enough to buy father's medicinal herbs?" Timothi looks relaxed unlike in previous meetings, as well as other children lying on the floor.

"Not so, our village treasurer is now about seventeen pieces of gold which is only enough to buy seventeen of those medicinal herbs. Trading this month will probably earn around three gold. But it won't be enough to stockpile our medicinal herbs." The village chief explained to Timothi.

"But wasn't Dad too worried, the plague didn't seem deadly." Timothi reasoned while acting relaxed.

"It's not like that." The village chief's eyes were seen shaking then turned his gaze towards Alex. "Your name is Alexander, isn't it?"

"Yes the village chief. The village chief can call me Alex." Alex extended his hand in greeting.

The village chief shook Alex's hand in return. "My name is Owen, as you probably know I am Timothi's father and the village chief. I'm not going to ask you where you came from because I know Timothi can recognize whether you're good or evil. But there's something I want to ask you."

Alex initially calmed down but after hearing the end of the sentence he looked a little nervous. "What is the village chief?"

"Well... How long have you been lost in the woods?"

"I was in the woods about two months ago. My master was previously killed by the elves for wanting to kidnap some of them and make them slaves..."

"All right, let's talk about your story next time. I believe in Timothi's judgment." Cut Owen in the middle of Alex's sentence. "But are you sure it was two months ago that you were in the Great Forest." Further.

"Yeah... Yeah it should have been about two months ago." Alex was a little nervous afraid he would give an answer he shouldn't have.

"It looks like it's gonna be okay." Owen muttered softly.

Timothi who heard his father's murmur knew that something was wrong. "Is there something bad going on dad?"

Owen turned his head to the village chief then sighed sadly. "Do you know why I've been forming your group for a month and giving you a mission to collect herbs every week?"

"Wasn't it to buy a medicinal herb from the illness you were telling me about?" Timothi asked confusedly.

"I didn't actually tell you everything. About two months ago there were two people in the village of Qiwu who contracted an illness. A week after that they died. A few days after that the other residents in Qiwu village also got the disease and within a month only twenty-five people survived thanks to the medicinal herbs brought by the merchant to Qiwu village." Owen explained everything to Timothi and Alex who were listening beside him.

Alex and Timothi are shocked to hear of a deadly disease.

"So that plague you told me about before was that deadly?" Timothi looked at his father.

"Well that's it. I kept it a secret from all of you for fear of causing concern. But it doesn't just stop there. This morning I visited the village of Muru next to their village but their village chief stopped me at the village gate and urged me to leave from there. He said some of the villagers in their village had contracted the disease and were afraid that they would pass it on to me who would spread it to our village." Owen looked a little sad to know the difficulties experienced by his acquaintance, the village head Muru.

"Therefore I intend to buy as many medicinal herbs as possible that the merchant brought to us later as supplies and anticipation if our villagers start contracting diseases. Perhaps with some savings that the villagers have plus the village treasurer we will simply buy about fifty medicinal herbs. But we are still short of about twenty more. Even so telling the residents to collect their own savings is our last option because it must cause panic in the village." Obviously Owen to Timothi who was heard by Alex.

"emmd... Village chief, do you know what the disease is?" Alex suddenly interrupted their conversation.

Owen sees Alex being next to Timothi and realizes that he is too panicked to let outsiders listen to them. "Do you know how to make potions?" Ask the village chief to Alex.

Listening to the question Alex thought for a moment then replied, "Yes I know a little how to make potions. But it depends on the disease" Alex replied. Of course Alex did not understand the slightest bit about the potions and medicines the village chief asked.

But if Alex knew the type of illness, wouldn't he be able to buy medicine in his world and give it to the village chief?
