First Mission (3)

The streets were illuminated by a yellowish-red light that was sourced from magic lights.

The magic lamp contains a light stone that will react and emit bright light if it sinks in the water, so the inhabitants of the magic world use the stone as a source of lighting at night.

The rhythmic sound of the insects accompanied the silence Alex felt under the curtain of a star-studded night.

Since starting to patrol, the clones of the two had only been circling around in a central location. He did so because the clones were the first to serve as the primary monitors on this mission.

The second clone spends more time resting and preparing, if the first clone finds anything suspicious.

"Hoaaam... Two days ago, a kidnapping occurred. Looking at the time lapse of previous cases, it seems like tonight the perpetrator has no intention of taking action." A man who was following the patrol said lazily.

"You said that because you still don't have children! Think about what if after your wife gave birth and your son was a victim." The man next to him shook his head.

"All right, I'm just kidding. I'm just sleepy because I haven't had time to rest after work."

Around the corner of the road, the two noticed something suspicious. They found a house with the front door half open. This is of course in stark contrast to the other houses in that row of houses.

The two looked at each other, then nodded simultaneously. They walked to the house, without making a sound.

"Did you smell something?"

"Yes... It smells really weird"

The two whispered to each other after passing through the door of the house. They smelled a strange smell that calmed their minds.

Kreeeeek.

A gray-robed figure came out of the bedroom door holding a child in hand.

"W-who are you? Put the kid down!"

"Heehh... I think I made a mistake." A woman's voice sounded from the figure.

"No problem. You've been inhaling this scent anyway." Continue that figure.

"What do you mean?" They did not understand the meaning of the words of the woman in front of him.

"Don't you feel sleepy?" The woman laughed funnyly at the sight of the two.

One of the men realized something after hearing the words of the woman in front of him. Ever since entering this house, he felt his body become relaxed. The drowsiness he had been holding back since he started patrolling broke out, making his entire body go limp.

"Si-shit, this scent makes us sleepy!" Just cursing, the man beside her fell to the floor. He sees his friend still breathing, making sure their lives are not threatened by this strange scent.

"Sleep. I will make you two monster food! Besides, if the way we kidnap kids is exposed, we're gonna have a hard time going forward."

The last man fell asleep with aversion in his heart. Shortly before falling asleep, he realized that even though the smell did not endanger their lives, the woman in front of him could do anything when they were unconscious.

"Bring them both from here!" Behind the woman, two black figures appeared hiding in a dark place.

The three took a child and two men who knew their actions, then walked out of the house through the front door.

Just a few steps away, there was the sound of someone instantly making them alert, "What is the purpose of the Blood Star Church doing this?"

"Who are you?" The woman retreated when she saw a man emerge from behind the building.

"I am the natural enemy of your organization. Now tell me what is the purpose of the Blood Star Church kidnapping children?"

"What do you mean?" Asked the woman with a confused face.

"I know these two black creatures, don't you call them damned creatures? No need to pretend like that, Tio!"

When her name was mentioned, the woman was shocked and became very wary. "Kill that man!"

Tio ordered the two damned creatures he brought to attack the man in front of him. The two damned creatures threw each of the men they brought to the ground, then ran towards the person following Tio's orders.

'good! Both were not taken as hostages. With this, I am free to use magic.' Alex smiled seeing the two cursed creatures lunging towards him after taking off the two men they had previously brought.

Wush...

One damned creature aimed a punch right at Alex's head. Alex dodged the blow to the side, then pointed his right palm towards the head of the cursed creature.

Zraa..... Zraa..... Zraa.....

The blue flames entered easily through the creature's skull. As Alex relinquished control of the swirling blue flames, the marbles-sized flames grew larger inside the head, and burned the brains and other organs of the creature's head.

"Magic existence!" Tio shouted in panic.

He was astonished to see one of the damned creatures die so easily by the man.

He immediately pulled out a knife tucked in his waist, then pointed it towards the neck of the child he was carrying. "Stop! Don't fight back or this kid will die!"

"Is that so?" Alex calmly dodges the remaining cursed creature's attack.

He recreated a similar magic, then killed the creature with the same attack as before.

"Although it's better if there's no casualties, I don't care about the child. Besides, my mission is to find the abductors and dismantle their cause." Alex said coldly.

After feeling a sense of loss for the second time, Alex shuts his heart from knowing and forming a bond that resembles family.

Although he is still kind to those around him, he will choose an action that he thinks is more effective, and not influenced by compassion.

But Alex's actions are inversely proportional to the situation. When Tio found out the threat was useless, he panicked even more and stepped back trying to get away from Alex.

Alex's cold face hardened as he recalled the people in Rod's village who were killed. Of the dozens of villagers, only ten survived. That is eight people who ran towards the interior of the Great Forest, himself, as well as Timothi whose whereabouts are unknown at this time.

Alex calmed his anger, and his face turned cold again.

"Don't... Don't come any closer or I'll kill this kid!" Tio tried to threaten her back.

"I told you before. Just kill it if you want." Alex kept moving calmly.

"Suck!" Tio threw the child in his hand, then turned to flee with all his might.

With his speed, Alex swiftly caught the boy before touching the ground. He put the child on the ground, and immediately chased after Tio who had disappeared behind the building.

Alex follows Tio's location based on the view of his first clone observing from a distance.

In a dark alley, he felt that something was wrong. "Squeaky. My other body didn't see Tio coming out of this alley."

Inside the building, Tio tried to calm her breath. He stroked the artifact shoes his master had given him, which he would activate in case something happened that required him to escape.

The shoe is an artifact that can lighten the wearer's steps. Even so, the stamina Tio needed remained comparable to when she ran the same distance without wearing the artifact.

"I'm glad I'm wearing this. Just look at it later, I will report this matter to the teacher and avenge the man's deeds!"

Before Tio managed to calm down, the secret wall connecting the side alley with his hideout was destroyed, revealing Alex's cold face behind the wooden wall fragments.

"Why can?" Tio asked in panic.

Alex did not answer. Thanks to his constitution, he was able to feel the surroundings well.

If Alex focuses his consciousness in a straight line, Alex can stretch his consciousness ten meters away from his location.

That's why even though the first clone observations did not succeed in finding the existence of Tio, the second clone used this method and managed to find Tio, who was behind a wooden wall eight meters from its location.

"Pursuing you is really troublesome." Alex sighed, then quickly drove towards Tio.

Seeing Alex running towards him, Tio shouted in panic. "Please..."

Alex hit Tio's head with a casual punch, causing Tio to fall unconscious on the ground.
