Chapter 47: Mefras and Duke Bloome

Duke Croneaster Bloome was a competent ruler, at the very least he thought he had enough pride to acknowledge himself as a competent person.

He is also a thaumaturgist expert, he has already created a book that inspires people to pursue this field of research.

 he was also a fairly reliable businessman, as evidenced by the city he quasi had higher prosperity than any other city he had visited.

Duke Bloome started playing with Mefras, they approved a two-round match to move Duke Bloome to the rules of this game, they started their match, Duke Bloome used the Deck that Mefras built for him.

Their first fight began, Duke Bloome got a good hand but he was still learning how these cards interacted with each other compared to Mefras who already knew this game with understanding.

Duke Bloome built his field with the cards he gave and missed his turn, Mefras did the same thing, his cards had a different theme to Duke Bloome.

They pitted their cards against each other, their turns constantly changing until the eighth shift where Mefras whipped out the card that turned the situation around, making him able to rebuild his field and give the final attack to Duke Bloome.

Duke Bloome even though the loser enjoyed their game, this game was quite fun and made him think of a path to victory.

Their second fight began, this time Mefras took the first turn, he prepared his field almost the same as before, and missed his turn.

Duke Bloome already understood how to play Mefras began to lure him into activating traps at the desired place, depleting the resources he had before Duke Bloome started his actual turn.

The turn of the six Mefras had already exhausted everything he had, allowing Duke Bloome to finish him off and win this round.

After Mefras finished asking him to shake hands that he accepted happily, this was an interesting game but Duke Bloome still did not understand why Mefras invited him to play like.

Mefras asked his opinion about the game and he answered it with a positive thing, he would not refuse if Mefras invited him to play again one time.

Mefras then gave an interesting offer, he wanted to sell this card game to the public and explain the model is quite detailed.

He basically wants to sell seasonal cards that get new cards every month with a different way of playing or features that make the existing way of playing fresher.

If you say this is not surprising, but a construct that can think of something like this is something interesting, Mefras may be more than it seems.

Duke Bloome continued to listen to his explanation and after his explanation ended he felt that there was nothing detrimental if he followed Mefras request which was basically just to sell cards.

There was another thing that attracted Duke Bloome but, when speaking Mefras mentioned about the aqueduct that lacked a lid, it was, when Duke Bloome asked to make him explain the consequences of unguarded waterways and add a cover and maintain cleanliness could keep to reduce the disease.

Mefras had considerable knowledge for a construct that was only one year old, putting aside where he got the knowledge from was the thing mentioned made sense and that was why Duke Bloome decided to implement the thing mentioned, reducing the chance for an outbreak to occur was a good thing and he had no reason to refuse.

After they finished their talk about his business Mefras began to ask about Helian, Duke Bloome gave the same answer he had given before because that was the fact.

Helian's mother was a maid who was impregnated by former Duke Sunsworth, by the time Sunsworth was alive Helian would not have had the chance to take the Duke's seat, the Duke said, but when his brother got rid of him and took his seat for himself Helian had the right to claim the seat as the only descendant of the Duke.

But luckily it seemed like he had no ambition to take the Duke seat and his mother Helian only asked Duke Bloome to look after him, not to raise him to the Duke's seat, which was why he accepted Helian's mother's request.

He only hoped that Sunsworth was someone who could be reasoned and calm enough to hear their talk to negotiate.

Duke Bloome felt he had nothing to worry about because from what he heard Duke Sunsworth who now liked to gather foreigners who were considered talented, he said, it marked that he was a person who had an open mind to pick up talent from all sorts of places. 

He just wished they hadn't found much of a challenge in reaching Sunflow city.
