The Voice On The Rival's Head
Chapter 40: Purple Robe

After speaking with Miss Gloom and Zorrel Mefras continued his journey around the city, Mefras did not expect time to travel so quickly because the blue sky had become red sky.

Mefras followed the streets of this city without having any purpose, the sounds and crowds of people had started to diminish as they had already prepared themselves for the dark night.

The night in this world was much darker than the Mefras home world, even though they already had lights that lit up using magic from the Mana Mefras stone could still see the stars in the sky, even though they already had lights that lit up using the magic from the Mana Mefras stone could still see the stars in the sky, the beautiful scenery makes it pleasing to the eye proves that the busyness of the dead at night.

Mefras did not know why, perhaps because he had not been whole by himself for a long time, without Verite, just being alone in the darkness of that night made him feel melancholic, she said, perhaps in his heart he longed for his home world and had a pent-up desire to return.

Or perhaps he had a fear, a fear that his coming into this world, might be, his being at the head of Verite was the plan of an invisible mastermind and Mefras giving Verite all his knowledge was part of this person's plan.

It was an irrational fear, perhaps this fear was herded by the darkness of the night and its solitude, whatever the reason Mefras knew this was the time to go home so he started walking to Duke Bloome's mansion, he said, the place where he and Verite now live.

Under the bright moon his metallic feet made a small sound every time he stepped, he could control his footsteps not to make a big sound but in a silent night he would inevitably make a sound, but this is not a problem because the sound released is no bigger than the crickets that sound.

And Mefras steps were not a problem when he could hear an explosion somewhere, if he was not a giant robot he would have run away from the sound of the explosion but he was a giant robot so he without any hesitation went to find the origin of the explosion.

The explosion in a big city like this is not a frequent occurrence, if something like this happens often Mefras will not let Verite stay here.

Quickly but also with Mefras's heart in mind approaching the center of the blast, smoke was still billowing and rising into the air when he reached the area, Mefras also found the source of the explosion and it shocked him.

Helian was standing in the middle of a smoky pit facing a person that Mefras could not see her look because almost her entire body was covered with a purple-colored robe that hid the identity of this person.

“I didn't expect you could do Thaumaturgy Helian Sunsworth.” The mysterious man said.

Mefras understood what was happening, this person for some reason was after Helian might even want to try to kill her and that was why Helian was standing in the middle of a huge hole.

What Mefras did not understand was why no one else had come here, the explosion was big enough to wake the sleeping people, it should have been surrounded by city guards.

This made Mefras think if he should interfere or not in this Helian fight, Helian was a friend of Verite and someone Mefras himself knew so there was no need to ask her again if Mefras would jump in to save her or not.

What is doubtful is if Helian needs any help at all because Helian is facing this calmly, she said, Mefras knew Helian had a secret that she could not talk about so maybe she was used to doing this so in the end Mefras decided to wait, so,  if Helian was seen to be in danger Mefras would jump in but if Helian could handle it she would not interfere.

“What do you want with me?” Helian asked the mysterious figure, Mefras noticed his hearing.

“Sorry son, I have no personal grudges with you but my tenant would like to know if Helian Sunsworth is still alive and if she is still alive I have to make sure otherwise.” The man replied, Mefras thinks this man is talking enough even if he tries to hide his appearance.

“Unfortunately for you I am a professional, I do not make it a habit to name my clients, especially clients who want their identity to be kept secret.” With that said the purple-robed person moved to attack Helian.

Helian dodged and pulled out her sword to meet the purple-robed killing blade, their weapon encounter accompanied by a large ‘klang’ sound.

Helian fended off and the man kept attacking making Helian continue to fend it off, this exchange kept happening until the helian pushed the attacker into the air.

Helian used her Thaumaturgy to throw her assailants into the air as they exchanged slashes, the purple-robed person circled in the air and landed casually.

“You seem to have quite a high ability for a child of your age.” Purple robes say, “Unfortunately that ability will be useless against an experienced person like me.” With that said The purple robe raised its hand, blue-colored flames gathered on its palm at high speed, he then threw it.

The closer the fire got to Helian, Helian fired her wind magic to protect herself, breaking the fireball and the purple robe quickly took the opportunity to slash at Helian at the last second Helian managed to dodge.

“Happy you can survive this attack, maybe you will survive.” The purple robe said, he started using his magic again. “But can you survive receiving this on and on?” He asked, continuing his attack.

“You want to hold on until the guards come right?” He said while slashing his weapon at Helian. “Unfortunately for you they won't come.”

“Do you do something?” Helian asked calmly even if she started to get cornered.

“You can say I used a tool I can to hide the sound I made from human ears.”

Hearing the purple cloak's words realized why he could hear the sound of the explosion, he did not hear the sound of the explosion passing through the human ear, but through a magic formula that could make him hear while controlling this construct.

“It looks like you're tired huh,” The purple cloak said, raise the knife to slash the exhausted Helian. “See you soon, may you have better luck in the following life.” Knives down.

And with a flash the purple-robed hitman bounced back, the huge red fist changed places with Helian to meet the purple robe.

“Looks like I should interfere ya.”

Helian looked at the red construct in front of her eyes.

“Mefras?” Helian asked.

“Pastya.” Mefras answered.
