The Voice On The Rival's Head

The Voice On The Rival's Head
Chapter 15: Sponsorship

"So what do you want to do now." Duke Bloome's question that looked like an innocent question made Verite panic in it, so panicked that he disconnected Mefras' connection from his construct without even realizing it.

'Wait, Verite, what are you doing?' Mefras asked, as he arrived drawn from the body of his construct and returned into the head of Verite.

'Ah..' Verite only realized what he was doing, the body of Construct Mefras fell lying on the floor without showing a sign of life, the red color back into the original wood brown color, the original, evidence that the Mana connection the construct received had been severed.

‘What should I do Mefras?’ Verite asked with a voice in his head that also had a little knowledge of the future.

‘Iya tell him what you're going to do? I knew that I was suspicious of him because he was a noble who encouraged childless children to work with him but after knowing some things from this world I guess he can be a little trusted.’ Answer Mefras, he did show some suspicion towards Duke Bloome before but after knowing his status in the game he had played and as prosperous the city they lived in thanks to his leadership made Mefras not too afraid of what what Duke Bloome did.

‘But But, he may be my real father.’ Verite said, this possibility haunts him ever since he learned of a possible future he could live in as Verite Bloome.

‘Ah about it yes..’ Mefras silent for a while. ‘I'm almost ninety percent sure he's not your real father.’ Say Mefras.

Verite was a bit surprised, ‘Aren't you the one who said he might be my real father?’ Said it.

‘Yes, maybe He might be your real father, but after thinking he might not be your real father. First of all he doesn't know you live in Blooming Bud before you tell him and secondly he doesn't recognize at all and thirdly your red hair is different from his red hair.’ Mefras tried to explain the reason why he thought he was Duke Bloome not his real father Verite, if he really had any relationship with Verite Duke Bloome would definitely show it.

‘...You're right.’ Tell Verite, he looks down.

“You okay what Verite?” Duke Bloome asked, looking at the arriving Verite arriving and and showing a fallen expression.

“Aah yes, I'm fine what Duke.”  Verite stop. “What I want to make is a small cooler, like an ice room that the nobles made to feed their troops.” Verite explained the thing that he was going to try to make with this item, A refrigeration is something that many people need and can also be made with the tools that he has.

“cooling closet huh,” Duke Bloome holds his chin, he seems interested in what Verite wants to make. “You know how expensive Where Krystal Ice is used for that refrigerator?” He asked, wanting to ensure Verite knowledge, An ice-elemented Krystal Mana is a type of stone that is quite rare because the manufacturing process requires a lot of labor and also difficult to find material, which is difficult to find,  there was no way a child of Verite's age could obtain such a Mana Stone.

“Iya, I will not use ice crystal stone, I will only use ordinary Fire Mana stone.” Clearly Verite, he did not need that expensive stone if the concept that Mefras had told him was true.

“Yes, I do not use it to heat, but I use it to cool or more I use the stone where the fire is to take heat energy from the air, and cool the place.” Verite. “Heat is a form of energy that can be moved, I just want to try if I can or not use it as a concept to make coolers.” Verite explains the concept he heard from Mefras, the way a refrigerator in his world works. If he could re-engineer this function he could make the cooler more accessible to the lower classes and of course his name would be famous as Thaumaturgist who made the cooler for the community.

“Verite..” Duke Bloome looked at him with a view that Verite did not recognize. “You... Can you let me see how you made you ‘this cooler?” he asked, his tone filled with interest and curiosity.

“That's about..” Verite dodged it, ‘How's Mefras?’ He asked the voice closest to him.

‘Iya?’ Mefras asked.

‘What do you mean ‘Iya?’, I wonder what answer I should give him?’ Verite asked louder.

‘Yes the answer is still yes, unless you want to reject the lord of the land who lives, he said, the city you live in and maybe also the country you live in because I don't know if you have an empire or not.’ Tell Mefras, name the only option Verite has.

‘Iya I don't think I have any other choice.’ Verite gave up her destiny, what happened will happen.

‘Oh yes one more..’ Meras called, ‘I think you have hope that he is one of your family members who is still alive, I suggest you not to make that hope fondle your mind. He may still want to adopt after this but he will probably do that because of your talent.’ Mefras did not know why he was talking about this but he felt this was an important thing Verite should know.

Verite ignored Mefras last sentence, not because he was angry with her but because he did not know what she felt this was the same as Mefras mentioned or what this was a different feeling.

“Alright, if Duke wants to see me play Thaumaturgy Duke can come with me, but I do not guarantee what I will do is interesting at all huh, especially for Thaumaturgy expert nobles like you.” Verite explained, giving low standards so that Duke Bloome was not disappointed, because Verite knew what impressed him was not Verite's own ability, but Mefras' knowledge that came out of Verite's mouth.

“I will decide if what I see is impressive or not.” Tell Duke Bloome. “If you have already done the preparation, let's go!” He pointed out the door.

“I don't know what happened.” Caena who was just watching earlier commented, “We will bring the ruler of our territory to Blooming Bud?”

“Your son has caught his attention, make sure that you meet the standard he gave or you will regret.” Miss Gloom commented while spitting out her cigarette smoke.
