Chapter 16: Practice

“Come Gloom, don't scare children.” Remembering Duke Bloome, he did not seem to be offended by Miss Gloom's words so this might be their usual interaction.  “Ayo Verite we go.” Duke Bloome invited Verite to leave.

“Good Duke.” Verite replied, he is ready to go home, Verite had already stuffed the Mefras Construct into his backpack with the items he had bought and the rest he had carried with him by hand and Caena also helped carry the items he could not lift.

“Do I help you?” Duke Bloome offered, maybe he did not feel good about seeing children carrying a lot of things without bidding to help.

“Nothing Duke, we're used to.” Verite said, there was no way he would let the Azalea city leaders carry their goods like ordinary people. “Allowed Caena?”

“Iya, definitely!” Caena hurriedly replied.

“Alright then, let's go.” Say Duke BLoome.

Not long after walking them all the way to Blooming Bud, Verite found it strange that no one recognized Duke Bloome at all, they had no idea that the leader of this city was walking among them.

‘An ordinary person would not think a man who dressed expensively but alone was a man who ruled all the military of this city.’ Mefras divided his mind.

Verite thought that Mefras said was true, even Verite herself did not know he was Duke Bloome when she first met him, she thought this person was just a rich uncle who was negligent with guarding his goods.

But come to think, Duke Bloome might destroy the man who tried to rob him if he was really a Thaumaturgy expert, he did not need a parade of guards for himself to walk in his own city.

Before entering Blooming Bud Pak Jardi welcomed Duke Bloome with a different manners than he used during a normal day, he looked more disciplined and his face looked really serious.

‘It is possible that he once worked as a knight under Duke Bloome.’ Say Mefras.

‘Why did you say that?’ Verite asked, curious about the reason Mefras made the observation.

‘Not much, I just think a lot of the stories I read have great parents who retired to take care of children and Mr. Jardi looks pretty fierce I wouldn't hesitate if you said he likes wrestling with lions in his youth.’ Mefras explained his mindset which turned out to be very simple.

“Verite you seem to learn you very smoothly huh.” Mr. Jardinier said. “I'm happy the book I gave you is useful for you.” Said it.

“You found a talent that Jardinier steps up, I applaud your decision to direct him to Thaumathurgy road,” Duke Bloome patted Jardi's shoulders, he looks happy.

“I'm glad this can help you young master.” Say Mr. Jardi.

“Ah you, I am too old to call Young Master.” Tell Duke Bloome, his face is a bit flushed.

“Ah yes, it's a pity that you are this old but you are still not married.” Said Pa Jardi, playing with Duke Bloome.

“Jardinier this is not the place to talk about it.” Duke Bloome said, reminding Mr. Jardi of his place.

‘Ah looks like they are indeed close, I guess my guess is correct.’ Mefras.

‘Ah yes...’ Verite stop, eat word pak Jardi.

“I'll try to make a cooler, try, I'm not sure if this concept will work so don't have expectations that are too big.” Verite warned, he was unwilling to disappoint Duke Bloome because he had excessive expectations.

“It's okay, as I wrote in the Thaumaturgy science book is a time-consuming science, I won't force you to complete a project that will take weeks in just one day, I just want to see your process work on it.” Duke Bloome explained, he did not ask for anything unreasonable.

“Alright, please follow me to the backyard.” Take Verite, he took Duke Bloome to his usual training ground, where he had also provided a wooden cabinet to be used as a cooling body.

Duke Bloome nodded and followed Verite, Mr. Jardi also inexplicably followed him, it made him inferior when many people witnessed what he was doing.

‘Hope nothing explodes.’ Mefras Comment.

while walking they met Helian who was instantly respectful when he saw Duke Bloome, seeing as his respect Helian with him made Berquanya

‘Hey Mefras, are we too disrespectful to Duke Bloome?’ She asked.

‘Now, if we've done something that offends a noble I think our heads will drift before we can think of this.’ Mefras answered.

‘Hear your story about noble nobles in your world I am really grateful Duke Bloome is a good person like this.’ Verite thought, not only does he have a place to live but also a free education, even others in this world might be jealous of him.

“What will you do?” Helian asked after greeting Duke Bloome.

“I just showed you the cooler I'm going to try to make.” Answer Verite.

“Ah, then may I keep an eye on you?” Ask Helian.

“Ya please, Caena and Jardi sir will also come, one more person is not a problem.” Tell Verite, if they're going to make a big group then just bring everything so he doesn't bother explaining anymore.

They finally made it to the backyard but not before they got a vision of another Blooming Bud kid, maybe their group was too flashy.

Verite began to put the goods that Verite bought and put out his notebook, in this book also included a cooling machine scheme that Verite would make.

“Can I see that?” Duke Bloome asked, peering over from behind Verite.
