Hearing the sound of that shout Mefras moved to catch the person who did not know why was on top of the tree he was barracking.
With a reaction that was beyond ordinary human ability he activated a feature one of the features that he had Verite input into his body, namely the ability to make his big hand soft.
The soft material grew from the palms of the Mefras and Fingers, from which he heard Verite made this feature from the former body of the slime monster that could be formed with Mana.
He easily caught the fallen man with his hands.
“You okay?” Mefras asked.
The person he caught saw it with his saggy glasses before shouting again.
“AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! Please!” The man shouted in panic.
“Quiet! Cool out! I'm not a monster!” Mefras tried to calm down this bespectacled man but his screams instead became bigger when he did.
Mefras had no choice but to wait for this man to let out his entire panic.
After a while the man became her.
“Already?” Mefras asked, his tone flat.
The man nodded and saw he had already calmed down Mefras lowered him.
“Thanks.” The man said while fixing his glasses.
“Nothing, this part is my fault.” Mefras replied,”...So why are you on a tree in the middle of the forest?” Mefras asked.
“Ah...” The person is speechless before starting the story. “I was a merchant who wanted to go towards the lotus village, but by the time I walked I was chased by robbers and escaped.”
“Ah so you climb a tree to hide.” Mefras understands.
“No,” Reply. “I tried to run away from the robber, but they managed to surround me five out of one, when I thought I was going to die there was a monster that looked like a bear coming and made the robbers run, I thought I was safe but the monster instead of chasing the robber but chasing me, I climbed a tree to hide from the monster.” This merchant explained his story.
“Wah... You are not lucky yes.” Mefras commented, This guy's story is like a cartoon story. “So where is the monster? I was assigned to hunt him.” Mefras asked.
The glasses merchant shook his head. “I don't know.” He answers. “I no longer see it.”
“...How long have you been here?” Mefras asked.
“Enight... I can't get off this tree before you topple it.”
Mefras rubbed his forehead with this man's story, the merchant blushing from Mefras' reaction.
“At least you're alive.” Mefras said, the merchant nodded.”Now we just need to eradicate the monster.”
“Iya.. Wait, root?” She asked.
“Yes, it looks like your manly shout called him back here.” Mefras pointed in front of him, the sound of roars heard from afar.
The merchant was hiding behind Mefras. “Please me!” He vibrates.
“You don't need to ask.” Mefras clenched his fists as the monster figure approached.
The monster reached Mefras pandan distance and he was not disappointed by his appearance, looking like a scaly bear, he had a striking blackish purple color and his size was even larger than Mefras, he had a scaly bear, perhaps even more than five meters, if Mefras did not have a body made like a tank he would also tremble in fear like a merchant behind him.
Mefras laughed in his mind, he had been long enough outside his body he started calling people as ‘human’.
*****REPLACE POV*****
Zorrel was a merchant from the city of Sunflow, since the change of leadership of the city of the Sunflow region the economy did not go as smoothly as before So Zorrel as a young merchant wanted to try his luck to the city of Azalea which sounded more prosperous.
Zorrel had already heard with the technological boom that was taking place in the city of Azalea, from the non-perishable roads to the small cooling machines that even a farmer could buy.
Hearing this Zorrel smelled money and maybe if he could get something that was not yet famous in another city he could sell it at a high price so Zorrel started risking his luck and set out.
Zorrel quickly regretted that in the middle he was not only the target of being robbed but also chased by monsters until he got stuck in the tree he used to hide.
Zorrel almost cried when he realized that he could not get off the tree, he really regretted taking the risk and tried to go to the city of Azalea, he wouldn't have done it if he knew he would get stuck in a tree and starve to death.
But it was fortunate for him that Zorrel did not need to wait so long to get down from the tree because something had knocked him down.
Zorrel fell down with the tree, thinking he would break his shoulder but it happened because something caught him.
A giant red monster that had glowing green eyes.
Zorrel shouted, he felt himself in danger and kept shouting, no he thought the monster was doing nothing, he kept silent and waited for him to let out all his voice.
And he's talking.
It was at this time that Zorrel realized this creature was not a monster but something similar to a construct, Zorrel could not use Thaumaturgy but he knew many things about Thaumaturgy because it was one of the fields that could make a lot of money so he studied it.
Zorrel doesn't know if this construct is remotely controlled or the owner is nearby but he's happy to find someone else who can help him.
But Zorrel's happiness doesn't last long because because the bear monster that chased him back to get him, he can't run, he can't run, his feet were too tired to do anything more than walk around so he did what he could, hiding behind the giant construct and hoping for the best.
He heard the roar of the monster, he felt it jump, his shadow approached, Zorrel could not help his shout, he thought of the worst.
But the worst did not come, he could still hear the monster's breath but nothing happened, Zorrel turned around and saw the construct holding the bear monster back, both of his hands held onto the pair of bear claws.
He did not move at all, as if the bear's weight had no meaning to him, the bear monster tried to free itself but the construct did not move at all.
“It looks like this body really has a high spec yes.. Verite is really talented.” He heard the construct speak.
“Alright, since there are people near me I will finish this quickly, sorry.” The construct told the bear monster.
He tightened his grip on the bear's paw and threw it, passing through and knocking down three trees in his path.
“Is this over?” Zorrel thought, his question was instantly answered with a built-up, angry bear roar.
“It looks like you are quite strong yes..” The construct said before pulling the hand back and punching the air…
The fist that touched the air leaped from the construct's arm, the flame tail following it towards the bear monster.
And pierced through his chest without any hindrance at all, leaving Zorrel to stare at the corpse of the monster that had a hole as big as he could enter.
The construct turned to Zorrel and said “Alright, now that the monster is no more do you want to come with me to the lotus village?”
Zorrel simply nodded wordlessly.
