Chapter 24: Adventurer Guild

The last place they visited was a place located in a different corner of this building, Verite and his friends need more time to walk there this makes Verite notice that this building is wider than thought so maybe calling this geung mansion is not wrong because on the road heading to the place they were heading to Verite looked at various places such as the living room and resting place that were suitable for nobles, as well as the royal residence, this allowed the fact that Veritte had never seen the place of the nation at all and only got an estimate of the image that Mefras showed her.

Duke Bloome instead of making this illegal instead took the opportunity to unify them and centralize their services, essentially making them work under him without saying they worked under him, this made Verite realize how powerful Duke Bloome was as an individual who wielded power, if he really wanted to destroy or manipulate Verite he would only need to move his finger and Verite would not be able to twitch. 

‘If you think the task task you get in Blooming Bud is almost the same as this adventurer mission system yes.’ Mefras said in his head.

Verite had noticed as well, they were not sent to dangerous places or fight but they were channeled to somewhere in need of manpower.

This made an implication that Duke Bloome had also concentrated people in need of merit on him, so it was likely that he already had a monopoly of merit for in this city.

“How about you try to take the mission from this place?” Regulus offers.

“But master.” Poppy starts talking but Regulus stops her. 

“Surely I will keep an eye on them and the reward of the mission they take will be their right,” Regulus paused for a moment. “And I'm sure the boy will appreciate a group he got.”

“Bocah?” Caena asked, Verite also guessed who Regulus meant.

Regulus pointed to someone standing in front of a place that seemed to be a receptionist.

Caena easily recognized the person and approached him while Verite followed him on a leisurely walk.

“Helian!” Call Caena as she approaches Helian.

Helian turned her head, seemingly not expecting Caena to be in the same place as her, “what are you doing here?” Helian asked.

“That should have been my question,” Caena turned to Helian. “What are you doing here?” 

“Iya,” Verite backing Caena, “What are you doing here?” He being here is a strange thing because a child of his age could not possibly be told to do such a heavy job.

“As you can see, I'm here to take a job.”  Helian answered.

“I know that, but why? Why are you taking a job here? If you need more work you can directly ask Jardi.” Say Caena.

“This... It's none of your business.” Helian Says. “Let me finish this and maybe we talk again.” He marked Caena to be silent and started filling out the registration form on the table.”

“But I'm just worried about you.” Caena said her voice is shrinking.

Caena is not wrong to worry about Helian's circumstances, she takes on a job that adults are used to and has certain risks that children their age cannot face.

But Verite also understands that Helian has something that only she should know, having Mefras in her head opens Verite's mind that someone must have a secret that they don't want to tell others.

“Input the names Verite and Regulus Bloome into this boy's party member.” Regulus said to the receptionist who nodded.

“Good master Regulus.” Just like that he agreed.

“Master Regulus... How about the development of construction?” Poppy asked.

All of this started because the construct he had developed escaped.

“I can do it later.” Say it without voltage at all.

Helian looked at him with an expressionless look. “What do you want by doing this Regulus?” Helian asked.

“Verite you will be Duke Bloome's student?” Helian Asks.

“I haven't decided.” Verite.

“But your outlook is positive right?” Ask Regulus.

Verite paid him no heed and asked, “Are you also going to be Duke Bloome Helian's Disciple?” Verite asked.

“No...” He seems to be confused with how he replied.

“You don't need to answer if you don't want.” Verite.

“Thank you,” She said, “Dan Caena.. Sorry will be before.” He apologized with Caena, epertinyadain realized his behavior was a bit rude.

“Ah is okay, I think I pushed my question too strongly.” Caena smiled, calming Helian down.

“So what job did you take?” Verite asked.

“Ah... I took a job to eradicate the wild boar that ravaged the garden garden in the village of western people from here.” Helian.

‘We started this journey to see Duke Bloome mansion but why are we now on a mission to eradicate wild boars like we are an rpg party?” Mefras asked.

‘Iya, this is a strange groove.” Verite agrees, but he also remembers that his world is similar to a game.

“How about you Verite?” Helian cut their mental talk.

“How is it?” Verite asked.

“You know, have you spoken to Mr Jardi that you will not be home today?” Helian asked.

“Ah... about it yes, I have not told Mr. Jardi.” Verite said, “I should probably go home first and bring my stuff too, unlike you I just came here with Caena and Mefras.” Verite.

“No need.” Regulus cuts, “I've told Poppy to prepare our supplies and supplies, we can go if she's done.”

“But I still have to tell Mr. Jardi.” Say Verite.
