Chapter 17: Demonstration

“You have talent.” Duke Bloome looked at him with serious eyes.

“I... don't know what I should say.” Verite replied, he did not know how he should respond to Duke Bloome's remark for two things.

At first he was talented but he was not a genius.

The second that Duke Bloome praised was not Verite's talent but the knowledge that Mefras had gained from his world.

Verite didn't know if he should accept this, 

“Show me.” Tell Duke Bloome. “Show me now how you make this scheme a reality.” Duke Bloome's orders.

Verite started to move, he formed the bone that Verite bought into a pipe and wrote the Thaumaturgy formula on the pipe.

Then he made a place where the Fire Mana Stone would be placed then he stuck it in the wooden cabinet that Verite had already made before doing all this.

He fused the hair of the monster hair and put it in a pipe inscribed with the Thaumaturgy formula, connecting the inside of the refrigerator to the outside.

and after doing all that he imbued the Stone which he placed behind the body of the cooling machine with mana, activating its function to suck mana paas in the air.

And that's how Verite finished his cooling machine, it took him about an hour to finish the cooling machine. 

Verite closed the refrigerator door and waited a few minutes, after a few minutes passed he reopened the refrigerator door and put his hand in.

“Cold...”He said, feel the temperature difference inside the closet and outside it.  “I succeeded!” Verite shouted, he managed to make the cooler by re-engineering the concept that Mefras was talking about, he felt proud in it.

“Try me feel Verite!” Caena approached, she could not help her curiosity and thrust her hand into the cooler.  “Iya it's very cold.” Caena nodded.

Duke Bloome approached and also cold-tested the cooling machine that Verite had made.

“Iya, it's cold, you succeeded.” Tell Duke Bloome before walking to the back of the machine, where the Fire Mana Stone is located.  “And it seems like the stone where this fire is also not overheated when sucking heat energy from inside this cooling machine, it seems to solve the problem of which stone becomes overheated you use the water-elemental monster hair to suck the liquid in the air and cool the Stone where it can suck the heat energy more.”

‘Looks like he already knows the function of all the parts of this machine, I guess that's why he's not only the leader of this city but also an expert Thaumaturgist.

The scheme that Duke Bloome saw did not explain all of the function functions of the cooling engine part they were making but he still guessed that heat energy would be stored in the rock where it was and most likely would be implode.

“Yes, why did I make a pipe with that monster hair.” Confirm Duke Bloome's words.

“The question now is how long this tool will last and if this tool has enough security.” Tell Duke Bloome.

“Sufficient security?” Ask Caena.

Verite nodded. “Yes, we still do not know this tool is safe or not, it could be because the reaction of the monster material materials used could make mana stone explode and cause fire.”

Verite to Caena.

“So the point you still have to test the security of this tool.” Helian hooked up, nodding looking like she understood.

“Iya, I will also make a cover to protect the part of this tool that is visible so that the owner of this object accidentally touches the important part and damages it.” Verite explained the plan he would do after all the testing stages were completed.

Verite nodded, confirming.

“Soal it easy.” Duke Bloome cut in. “Jardinier how about you take the place of a trial animal and start using this cooling machine?” Duke Bloome said he saw jardi standing watch wordlessly from the time he came here.

He started talking. “I have no qualms but this is the discovery of Verite, all this depends on his decision.” Tell me Mr. Jardi.

Duke Bloome looked at Verite. “How's Verite?” She asked.

“You let me do this?” Verite asked, he had not expected Duke Bloome to let him continue manufacturing his cooling machine alone.

“I've seen what you can, you're not negligent in keeping yourself and your surroundings safe in studying Thaumaturgy so I feel I can trust you to do your own research, but…” He emphasizes on this word. “If Jardinier or I catch you doing something dangerous I will deprive you of your ability to do Thaumaturgy and you must do it like any other child would do Thaumaturgy; learned it in Thaumaturgy class when you were twelve.” Duke Bloome gave his advice.

If Duke Bloome thought that giving Verite such a free hand, Verite had no reason to refuse him because she also cared about the safety of herself and all the contents of Blooming Bud.

‘Yes, I didn't think he was a really reasonable person, I thought he was the one who raised his own ego because he was the expert of Thaumaturgy here, I thought he was, but I guess because he's an actual expert he doesn't feel he has to prove anything.’ Mefras gave a positive outlook to Duke Bloome.

“Alright, I'll let Mr. jardi test the cooler I made.” Verite gave his answer, as Mefras said Duke Bloome seemed to be trustworthy, after all if he wanted to take Verite's tool he could do it easily, after all, if he really wanted her to not have to ask, he would just do it straight away.

“Ah then you please check again this cooling tool, if you have something you forgot or something you should add, after that Jardinier can bring it.” Duke Bloome said, he looked at his pocket clock.

With that Verite did what Duke Bloome said, he inspected all the tools contained in that part of the cooling machine, from which stone, the channeling pipe and the door hinges.

After that he added a temporary lid to the tool, and then approached Mr. Jardi, carrying a paper containing instructions.

“Pak Jardi.” Verite called.

“Iya Verite?” Jardi replied. “There can I help you with?” She asked.

“Iya sir, it's about that cooling machine, if you don't bother me I want you to fill this form every day with your experience with this cooling machine.” Verite gave jardi a pack of paper he held.

“I also want you to follow some of the instructions contained here, such as adding the contents of the cooler every day and checking if the stone is overheating.” Verite explained the instructions and Mr. Jardi heard it with heart, without underestimating the little Verite.

After Verite finished his explanation, Jardi asked. “That's everything?”

“Yes, that's all I need you to do, is that too much?” Verite asked.

Jardi replied. “No, I'll do it.” After that he brought the cooling machine that Verite had prepared to his office.

Afterwards Caena and Helian help Verite clean up her tool kit and bring it back to the room, leaving Verite alone (Both if counted with the invisible Mefras) with Duke Bloome, who is the only one in the room, Verite was just about to leave before Duke Bloome called out to him.

“Verite.”

“Iya Duke?” 

“I have an Offer for you.”
