In the night that was covered in darkness and only illuminated by the moonlight and the glitter of stars there was the figure of a man who ran through the forest, in a hurry like a death chase.
He was a robber who was after the passersby who left without joining the group, he and his group had already done this for quite a while, even so long he could leave this dirty work and start a clean new life.
It did not wash away his sin, he had already done a cruel and non-human thing when he committed his robbery, it was just normal, it was just normal, man is an animal and the law is a whip that keeps them from crossing moral lines.
But in the forest region without civilization no one arranged for these beast tamers to stand behind the line, they passed through it like fish swimming in a river; with no guilt at all.
This disaster for him began as they watched over the nearby village, the village that had started to become a new path that the pedestrians had passed through, he disguised himself as one of the wanderers who chose to temporarily stay in the village and spy on other passers-by.
Dahlia Village was a new village developed by the famous Duke Bloome himself, he said he found resources near this village and built an easier access road towards it.
This was the first time for him to visit this village because he and his group always moved to avoid the eyes of government officials so they rarely lived in one place and almost never seen after them perform their operations.
Even though this was the first time to this village he could easily find his target; a red-haired young girl wearing striking clothes, who was, he wore a dark green, almost blackish military outfit that had large buttons, large trousers and shoes that almost reached his knees, the appearance of which was covered with a wide, red jacket that wrapped him.
Usually people with this look will they avoid like a rabbit running from a fallow but they do not do it because the person wearing military clothes is a girl who does not look more from ten years.
He argued that this young girl was the son of a wealthy noble who had escaped and thus she got their target.
The girl's clothes alone would definitely be able to be sold for quite a price and the girl herself, maybe her parents would pay high enough to get her back and if not… There must be a buyer willing to accommodate the young girl.
He begins to follow the girl, unbeknownst to her he gets the information that she will be leaving at night, how lucky she is for him and how stupid she is.
With that information he told his friend and prepared to surprise the girl as she exited the west gate of the village.
And as planned they easily cornered the girl, chasing her through an increasingly dark forest and further away from the village the girl cornered herself.
They managed to corner the girl, herself pushed against the wall, she praised the red-haired girl's ability to run, she didn't seem tired at all when chased by five bandits.
And at that moment he got a bad feeling, even if they were surrounding this girl he did not show a tired or scared face at all, he just stared at them with a cold look.
He realized it wasn't normal, something was really odd and his suspicions were confirmed when the girl opened her mouth.
“Is this everything?” She asked.
“What do you mean little girl? Do you want to buy time for help?” One of his ‘friends’ asked.
“I asked, are these all members of your bandit group?” He asked once again.
Bandit it sneers, “And what? What do you do if these are all members of our group?” He replied with an arrogant tone.
“I I took your answer as ‘iya’,” The girl clenched her hands and their surroundings suddenly lit up with fire, locking them facing the girl. “I hope they don't grow anymore.” The girl said.
Her unpleasant feeling became real, this girl was a Thaumaturgist and not only that, this girl had strong abilities.
He started to calculate his chance, five on one, maybe if they jumped at the girl together they could knock her down before the girl could use her magic.
Not a moment did he think that his hopes were instantly suppressed with an instant when his bandit friend recklessly attacked the girl who was just shaking her head.
“I leave this to you.” The girl said into the empty air.
With a speed beyond human sight his bandit friend fell to the ground, a gigantic shadow fell on him out of nowhere.
Glowing green eyes began to stare at them and as quickly as the lightning of the shadow dropped his companions one after another, he heard the shouts of his group.
The robbery plan that originally went smoothly turned into a disaster for him, he thought of a way to escape, behind him a wall of fire and in front of him a Thaumaturgist and an unknown monster.
He decided to take his chance, he twisted his body and dashed to the wall of fire, his hands crossed, forming a shield to protect his face.
His reckless leaping was rewarded with a run, he managed to pierce through that wall of fire with just a light wound, he started running in the darkness of the night.
“This one is reckless as well yes,” He heard the girl speak, “Mefras this is your first test, hunt him.” The girl commanded her giant shadow.
He ran away, and ran away, not daring to look back, he heard the sound of trees collapsing one after another, whatever was chasing him was not human and it made him even more unwilling to turn his head.
In his mind there was a sense of regret, he had enough income to stop being a bandit and leave this stain of work and leave.
But his greed makes him go after a young girl who unexpectedly is a Thaumaturgist, he hits a sleeping lion and he will pay for it.
He can't be arrested, he won't be arrested. If he's arrested he'll be put on trial with the thing he did and the thing he did will send him to beheading quickly.
He can't be arrested. He kept running and running until he could not hear the voice anymore, and he felt a hint of hope, maybe this creature lost itself? Maybe he's free? But this hope was not enough to make him look back because he was afraid that his hope was oppressed.
But unfortunately for her hope was still downtrodden, she stopped running, terror stuffed into her bones.
In his Depan stood a huge giant shrouded in darkness, its shadow only visible because of the moonlight behind it, its green eyes shining sinisterly, leaving behind a trail of unnatural light.
He fell to his buttocks and he could only watch that gigantic hand that was as big as a wooden block grab onto him…
