The Voice On The Rival's Head
Chapter 34: Field Test(Part 2)

Verite and Mefras immediately set off towards the lotus village, walking towards the border gate of their city became a spectacle of citizens as Mefras was a three-meter sized robot walking behind a ten year old girl.

Mefras enjoyed the view he got, though, if he still had his human body he would not enjoy the sight and attention he could but since he was a three-meter-sized robot he wanted to show how much more of himself he was than them.

‘You guys are all just meat bags and I am a three meter robot that has various features!’ He screamed inside his head, becoming a giant robot raising his ego quite high.

Surely he was not really serious when he thought about it because inside him he still missed the taste of the sultry chicken he often ate while still alive.

And he also still had the tethering problem and energy consumption that occurred with Verite, as good as this body is this body still needs mana and Mefras consciousness is also strongly tied to Verite so he can't go anywhere without going far from Verite even if their tethering distance has increased because verite's growth as a thaumaturgist increases the distance of courtship that Verite can do as well as the amount of mana he can spend.

On the way to the border gate Mefras noticed many people greeting Verite and to him it was a fitting thing, he said, within this year Verite worked hard to pursue her dream and it made her take quite a number of mission missions from the adventurer guild which made her known to the citizens and it also did not include the cooling machine that Verite had make, people already know about who made that cooling machine.

Fortunately, no one seems to have tried to kidnap Verite because of his talent, perhaps having the name Duke Bloome also helped Verite protect himself as not many people would be willing to head-to-head with the great regional lord who also possessed high Thaumaturgy abilities.

after some time walking them all the way to the city's border gate and starting their field trial stage, Verite turned to Mefras.

“You ready?” Verite asked.

“Siap.” Mefras nodded, the first test; movement and balance.

Mefras lowered himself until his eyes looked at Verite and Verite began to climb onto Mefras' shoulders and began to sit down, his left hand holding Mefras' head for balance.

After making sure Verite sat comfortably Mefras slowly stood back up, balancing his body, feeling the movement of the gear and joining it inside his body.

Mefras recalled as unnaturally the movement of robots that he watched on the internet, even though the movement did not look natural it was the optimal movement to maintain balance, that's why robot demonstration videos always have people trying to make the robot fall.

Now that Mefras could perform those movements, after three days of familiarizing himself with this body he achieved the ability to balance himself with height, he said, all that could drop it now was an item or thing far from its heavyweight like a landslide or a tornado.

After standing safely and making sure Verite was still on his shoulders Mefras started taking his steps, slowly land, his speed increased and he started running…

His speed continued to increase, tracing the asphalt path leading to the lotus village he was still increasing his speed, it was already a minute passing by and he had already reached a speed that was probably over sixty kilometers per second.

On the road Mefras also passed by pedestrians whose eyes were wide open when a giant robot running at a speed not indicated by its size, here Mefras found a problem.

He does not have the ability to make sharp turns. He didn't bump into people at all but he still realized that he could only tilt the current of his path slowly at this speed and if making a sudden move arrived he could make Verite bounce off of it.

Because of that Mefras began to reduce his speed, he was unwilling to harm Verite even if he knew Verite could use Thaumaturgy to improve his body's abilities.

“It looks like there is a problem with your ability to turn yes.” Verite said, it seems like he has already noticed the problem that Mefras encountered. “We may need to change the shape of the joint part to facilitate movement, or maybe we can replace your legs with wheels.”

“Verite you know I don't like wheels, tank chain wheels maybe but regular wheels? Yes no thank you.” Mefras said he knew wheels were more practical for robots but he didn't like the appearance of robots with wheels.

Is that childish? Ja. But he would choose not to have legs rather than to wear wheels.

“Hahaha... I'm just kidding.” Verite said and Mefras knew it. “So will you join still or will you directly hunt monsters?” Verite asked.

To perform this field test Verite did not need to watch his fight live because Mefras' new body had the ability to record what he saw.

“I will hunt directly, faster is better, the monster I will hunt is a rodent-type monster right?” Mefras asked.

Verite nodded, “Iya, from the description of the eyewitness this monster has a bear-like appearance just that it is purple, its face is like covered in fish scales and its size is much larger than ordinary bears,  this monster is seen in the west of this village.” Verite explained the details of the monster that Mefras was about to hunt.

Mefras nodded, he already understood the details of this mission and it seemed like this monster would be able to be easily found, a dangerous monster like this would endanger people.

“Alright I will hunt now, you can enjoy that time to chat with your friend.” Mefras.

“Iya I have not seen Datura for a long time, since this asphalt road is finished, I want to know how it is now, well I will enter, hopefully you quickly find the monster.” Verite said before turning around and walking into the village.

Mefras began to walk westward, where the bear-shaped monster was visible, gradually increasing and increasing in speed and eventually reaching a higher speed than before.

Mefras now did not have to worry about keeping his speed as he no longer carried humans nor did he walk in the flow of the human-filled road.

He still had to be careful to avoid the tree trees scattered in this forest, fortunately if he were to hit one or two people would not have any problems with him, it was just a tree.

Maybe if someone was climbing that tree but what is the possibility of that happening?

Like instigating destiny Mefras failed to turn and hit a tree that easily collapsed when collided with his huge body made of magic steel.

“Ahhhhhhh!!!” Mefras heard a cry from the fallen tree.
