The tahlilan show is over. Zayna chose to return to her room to rest. Actually it was just him making an excuse to avoid his family. Honestly, the woman was still very disappointed with what she heard at the funeral. About who Zanita really is.
Zayna asked herself. "Am I a stepson too? Zanita who has been treated affectionately by Papa, in fact she is a stepson. What if I am treated unfairly?"
I really wanted Zayna to ask him directly. But he did not dare. It was too painful an answer he would hear, whether he was a stepson or a biological child. If the woman was a stepson, how much Zayna felt sad because she did not know who her father was. If she's a biological child, then she's not at all as valuable as Zanita's stepdaughter.
The door opened, and Ayman entered the room. Zayna pretended to close her eyes. She does not want her husband to know that she is sad. The man sat on the bed next to his wife. He rubbed the woman's hair.
"What are you doing, honey? What the hell's been going on? Why are you quiet?" ask Ayman. However, Zayna just kept silent not answering a single word. "I know you haven't slept, so don't pretend." she continued.
Instantly, Zayna opened her eyes and looked at her husband. He woke up and sat down at the head of the bed. The woman sighed softly.
"There's nothing, Mom. Just tired."
"You may be able to lie to everyone, but not to me. I know you've been resilient all along, so being tired won't make you what you are today. There must be something you're hiding from me, right?"
Zayna looked down, she couldn't lie to her husband. A drop of tears fell down the woman's cheeks. Ayman immediately hugged his wife. His guess was right, something happened to his wife.
"Cry if it can make you feel relieved" said Ayman, rubbing her back. Zayna hugged her husband and shed tears on the man's chest. Long enough, she finally ended her crying. The woman rubbed her two eyes which had already been caused.
"What's wrong? Is something going on?" ask Ayman slowly.
"What, Mas, don't remember what Zanita said at the funeral?" zayna asked, making Ayman frown. He tried to remember.
"What did Zanita say? I don't understand at all. It seems like he said something ordinary."
"He said he wasn't Papa's son. You know, my heart hurt to hear it. If all this time Zanita was not Papa's biological child, why did Papa treat her well and treat me badly? All this time I always instilled in my heart, that Zanita was my sister. Of course Papa loved him more because I was older and had to understand my family's circumstances, but today my heart is broken because I know a secret that hurts. Why is Papa that loaf on me?"
Zayna cried again when she remembered the different treatment she had received so far. If it was Mama Savina who did it, she didn't matter because the woman knew they had no blood relation, but Papa Rahmat, it was obvious that Zayna was her biological child.
"We don't know the details yet, honey, so don't think the no-no first. We'd better ask Papa directly."
"I was even more afraid that the answer Papa gave me would be even more painful. What was my lack all this time? I do all the housework sincerely. I wish they would consider my existence. I also love them even though there is no reply for me, but the reality I heard today really hurt my heart."
"Why is my wife now a calculation like this? Where's Zayna all this time? The one I know is a good woman and doesn't hold a grudge against anyone. Don't be like this. Don't you always forgive others' mistakes? This time you have to be like that. They're your family."
"I'm tired, Mom. I want to rest" said Zayna, who immediately wiped her tears and laid her back against her husband. He knew it was inappropriate. But right now his heart is really hurt. The woman needs time to calm down.
Ayman, who sees his wife behind him, feels guilty for forcing Zayna to forgive her family, without knowing how she feels. He had never felt what his wife felt because his parents loved him so much. Actually Ayman wants to apologize, but judging from the current condition it seems Zayna still needs time to be alone and think about everything.
The man did not want to disturb and chose to leave the room alone. He wants to help the family clean up all the former study events.
"Zayna where? Tumben he did not come out, from earlier he was silent. Did something happen?" ask Papa Grace to his son-in-law.
"There's nothing, Pa. Zayna said she was tired because she wanted to rest first" Ayman replied lying because she couldn't possibly tell the in-laws the truth. Actually the man was also curious about what his wife said earlier, but it was not his right to ask. Let Zayna speak with Papa Mercy.
Ayman helped clear up the rest of the study with the help of some neighbors, who were still there. He was grateful that there were still people who cared for his family-in-law. The man thought people would gossip Zivana's death. But that didn't happen.
After all was done, the people who helped also said goodbye to go home. Ayman thanked them. Same with Mama Savina.
"Papa Mama just rest. It's late" Ayman told her parents-in-law, who were still sitting in the living room.
"Yes, you also rest, pity Zayna sleep alone from earlier" said Papa Rahmat.
"Yes, Pa. I'll rest first." Ayman left her parents-in-law and went into the room.
"Does Papa feel anything strange about Zayna?" mama Savina asked when Ayman was out of sight.
"Papa actually felt the same way. Since the funeral, he has been quiet. Don't even want to get close to me, but I don't know what's causing it."
"Does Papa really not know? Looks like she heard what Zanita said, about her not being a real child. Surely Zayna felt sad because Papa loved Zanita more than Papa's child. While he was clearly a biological child even Papa ignored."
Grace was shocked to hear what his wife said. He was completely unaware back then if there was Zayna who would have heard their talk. The man hasn't said anything about it. Now her daughter must have misunderstood her because Zayna had been avoiding her papa.
