The Step Sister of Tiri

The Step Sister of Tiri
154. Call 'Honey'

A couple of newlyweds were having their morning prayers. This is the first time Kinan has become a master. The taste of haru enveloped the recesses of the woman's heart. Usually the only ones who do that are his father and brother. Now someone else is legal for him.

After two prayers, the two decided to leave the hotel. They want to take a walk to enjoy the morning air around the hotel. The temperature was still so cold, but Hanif still took the wife out.

“Where are we going, Mas?” ask Kinan while he's in the elevator heading downstairs.

“Under there is a park, we take a short walk there.”

“But it's still dark, it's cold too" Kinan said, rubbing his palms together.

“That's why I told you to wear a jacket so as not to get cold,” replied the man by holding the palm of his wife's hand.

Hanif took the woman out of the hotel to the park around the place. The atmosphere around still seemed quiet as this was also still dark.

“Tuh, right, no one at all. Let's just go back, Mas," asked Kinan while looking left and right.

“There they are,” said Hanif while pointing at some people walking.

“But they don't stop, Mas. They're just passing through.”

Hanif laughed at what his wife said. For him Kinan now looks very funny. He likes to see the woman spoiled on him. It made him feel needed.

“That's exactly, means this place is safe. Especially for the two of us at this time.” Kinan laughed when he heard what the husband said. The woman no longer spoke. His grip on the husband is getting tighter, a sign that he is starting to get cold.

“Kinan, right you don't mind if we stay at my parents' house?” hanif asked after the two fell silent for a while.

“From the beginning we have discussed it and I have no problem living anywhere, as long as I can be with my husband, but not under the bridge as well.”

“Ngak dong, Honey. I'm only worried if you feel compelled to follow me. Today, many unfriendly daughters-in-law live with their parents-in-law. They often argue, even to a very small thing though.”

“God willing it didn't happen to me. I'll try to be as thoughtful as Mama Aida.”

“I'm glad to hear it, but if someday you're at a point that you can no longer be with Mama Aida, just tell me.”

“Indeed, if I told you, you would ask me to move?” asked Kinan while looking at the husband, making the man scratch the back of his head which was not itchy.

“Em .. not really. I will try to give understanding to Mama and to you. If until really can not unite again, then we will find a comfortable place for us to stay.”

"And you're going to leave them alone?"

"Not really. Sometimes I'll stay there."

“You take it easy, Mas. I'll try to be like Mama Aida. Even if it's hard, I'll keep trying to get him out. I'm sure it wasn't hard because Mama Aida was a good person."

Hanif nodded. Both of them were silent while enjoying the morning air. Time seems to run very slowly, letting the bride and groom spend time together.

“The sun will soon rise. We just go there, so we can see it clearly," said Hanif by reaching out to his wife, intending to take the woman to a place that could see the sunrise. However, Kinan was still reluctant.

“You know this place, Mom. Have you ever stayed here!” ask Kinan by looking at the husband.

Hanif still reached out to his wife. Kinan greeted him with pleasure. They were looking for a place that could see the sunrise. They sit in long chairs. After a few minutes, finally what was awaited happened, the sun rose so beautifully.

“Kinan, as an ordinary human being, could have one day I changed. At that time if I make a mistake, do not hesitate to reprimand me,” said Hanif without taking his eyes off the sunlight.

The air, which was cold, slowly began to warm. The mood also turned romantic. No matter how many people pass by. What matters is that they are happy together.

“Mas, we are both ordinary humans. Maybe I could have made a mistake too, so we should both remind each other. When that comes I hope there is no misunderstanding between the two of us.”

“Sure, thank you for being my full wife. I'll try to be a good husband for you.”

Kinan nodded and rested his head on the husband's shoulder, where he was leaning from today. The two sat there for a long time until they decided to return to their room. Both of them should go home today. First they had to go home to Papa Hadi to take the woman's clothes.

Kinan cleaned their clothes with Hanif's help. The man did not let his wife do her own work. Afterwards the couple got out of the hotel and took a taxi to Kinan House.

“Mas, today we slept at my parents' house first, yes! No pa-pa, right? For overnight only.” Kinan tried to persuade his husband.

“Iya, it's okay, but we stopped by the shirt shop first. I don't bring clothes at all, it's not good to borrow with Kak Ayman continue.”

“Iya, it's up to you.”

“Let's pick a dress that fits me, huh? I want to also be chosen by wife.”

“I don't know your taste, Mas.”

“If you choose, I will use.”

“But later if it doesn't suit you how? You better choose yourself.”

“I told you, Honey. Whatever you choose, I will wear it.”

Kinan lowered his head, his face flushed red in embarrassment when he heard Hanif call him 'honey’. Not a strange thing for him because at home Ayman also often called Zayna like that. It was strange when the call was on him.

“Why so shy, we are husband and wife, it's okay if I call you dear. And vice versa, you can also call me like that.”

“No, shame.”

“Why embarrassed? Sometimes it's okay, at least when we're just alone.”

Kinan simply kept his head down, unwilling to answer what the husband asked. Hanif asked the driver to stop by a clothing store on the side of the road, and the man took his wife into the store by hand. It seems like it has become a new habit for him.

Hanif would never let go of his grasp no matter where they were. He doesn't care how others look at him. The important thing is that he can be with his wife.
