The Step Sister of Tiri

The Step Sister of Tiri
242. Wanted to meet them

“Assalamualaikum,” said Adam as soon as he entered the house. The man looked around to find his mother.

“Mbak Erin, Mama where?” adam asked when he met Erin. The woman was still working there to help Bik Isa. He was comfortable in this house, so reluctant to stop.

“There in gazebo, Den.”

Adam nodded and immediately headed towards the place Erin had said. It looks like Kinan is arranging flowers and putting them in a vase. The man walked slowly towards the place where his mother was. As soon as he arrived, he hugged the woman who had raised him.

“Astaghfirullah! You ngagetin Mama only,” exclaimed Kinan while rubbing his chest.

“I miss very much Mama,” he said which further tightened his embrace.

"You don't spoil your sister too much. You need to rest too."

"No pa-pa, Ma. I miss him too, I haven't seen him in a month. Just like I miss Mama."

“Sit.” Kinan patted the empty side next to him.

Adam breaks down the embrace, but instead obeys Kinan's command to sit down. The man prefers to lay his body in the lap of his mother. He could only do it while he was alone because if there was Zea, it would be the girl who would rule over the mama.

“What's your restaurant problem done?” ask Kinan while rubbing his son's hair.

“Alhamdulillah, already, Ma. It was also thanks to my mother's prayer. Mama and papa are also the ones who have always supported me.”

“Mama is surprised by you, you always refuse papa's offer to lead the company. You prefer to build your own restaurant.”

“I Just don't want to take care of Mom and Dad. I also feel like I have no right to get it. I'm not a child—“

“Mama doesn't like you talking like that!” Kinan cut Adam's words.

She and her husband never talked about it again because he already considered Adam his son. However, this was not enough to convince the young man.

“What affection does Mama and papa give you mean nothing? Until you still do not consider our existence?” ask Kinan in a sad tone.

It made Adam feel guilty. He didn't mean it that way at all. He knew where Adam came from. He was not ungrateful, just that he wanted to stand alone to show everyone, that he was great.

Adam immediately woke up from his mother's lap. He clasped the woman's palm and said, “Sorry, Ma. I don't mean like that. I just ... only ...”

“Mama doesn't want to hear any excuses from you. Mama just wants no such sentence to come out of your mouth again.”

Adam sighed and looked at his mother. “But the people around me also need to know who I really am, Ma. I'm afraid they'll be disappointed after knowing who I really am.”

Kinan stared at his son intensely. He felt that there was meaning behind the words spoken from his son's lips. The woman still guessed what Adam meant. There was only one answer Kinan found.

“Do you have a lover? Are you afraid that she'll change if she finds out you're not Mama's biological child?”

She had tried to cover it up, but the mother seemed to have more sensitivity. Nor does his girlfriend know who Adam's parents are. The man has not said anything about his parents. Even the restaurant he told me it was a family business.

Kinan could feel Adam's lies, but he couldn't force his son. If the young man didn't want to say it, what could the woman do. Kinan could only pray, hopefully everything is fine.

“Mama actually does not like if you are dating, but if she is good and can make you happy, Mama will not prohibit. Message Mama to you, take care of the woman as well as possible, do not let you make mistakes that you will regret for a lifetime. You understand what Mama means, right?” ask Kinan quietly for not wanting to make Adam feel judged.

“I will always remember Mama's advice. Thank you for teaching me so much. My mother loved me with all her heart. Gratitude alone will not be enough for all that Mama has done.”

“Seeing you and Zea are always happy together, that's enough for Mama.”

Kinan was very happy with the whereabouts of his children during this time. Sometimes he is upset by both. It is precisely this also that makes the woman miss them. Especially spoiled and chatty Zea who can always build a festive atmosphere.

“Ma, can I see their situation?” adam asked fearfully if Kinan forbade.

“They? Who are they?” ask Kinan back who did not understand who his son meant.

“People who have dumped me,” replied Adam.

Kinan smiled, he knew something like this would come, but the woman did not like Adam's call to her family. Kinan never forbade the son from meeting his family. He also said, as bad as Adam's family, they were still the ones who made the young man born into this world. Even though they never did their responsibility.

Kinan did not want Adam to be an ungodly child. As for what his parents did, let them take responsibility for themselves. For Adam he just wanted that boy to be a good person.

"If you want to meet them, go! Mama also never forbid, it's all up to you. You are an adult, you can choose what is best for yourself, but before that you have to be ready with the possibility of anything that will happen later. Mama doesn't want you to be disappointed."

Adam nodded, he understood his mother's intentions. The man had also braced his mentality for the worst possible. Even if he was not accepted his arrival was not a problem.

"Do you still remember their faces? You haven't seen them in a long time" asked Kinan.

"I've seen them on social media. The girl was a pretty famous person in cyberspace.”

“You're following their progress?"

"Not really, it was just a coincidence that I was looking for their names in the search field. It turned out he showed up. Honestly, I feel disappointed. He who is not a biological child alone, can get the surname behind his name, but I did not get anything at all.”

Kinan rubbed his son's arm. "Maybe your father was in a state of caliphate at the time. We don't know how their lives went as long as you were apart. Hopefully during that time your family will also turn into a better person. Nothing is impossible in this world."

“Hopefully, Ma. I also want to see them turn into good people.”
