At exactly 11:00 p.m., Dika arrived at the club's courtyard. He parked his car, and then stepped in. The sound of music began to deafen his ears. But Dika did not care, he continued walking, and approached Alvin who was preparing drinks for the guests.
"Hi Vin!" greet Dika while patting Alvin on the shoulder. Then he grabbed a bottle of vodka, and immediately took a sip.
"Where are you from?" alvin asked as he looked at Dika who was sitting next to him.
"From home."
"Why is your face so tangled?" ask Alvin.
"For Vin, it's overtime." Dika replied lying.
"You should sleep, and rest. Why come here?"
"But also needs Vin refreshing." replied Dika with a smile.
Then he sipped his drink until it was gone.
"Give me one more Vin." said Dika while holding his temple.
"You want to get drunk again?" ask Alvin. Since three days ago, Dika always came to his place, and drank until drunk.
"Hurry up and give me one Vin!" dika said while pointing at the vodka bottle that was in front of Alvin.
"If you have a problem, just talk! Who knows if I can help you. Honestly, you know, I'm not willing to see my friend drunk like yesterday. You're an adult, if there's a problem solve it well, don't make alcohol an escape" Alvin said as he looked at Dika.
He knew that his friend was in trouble, but he did not know what was happening to him.
"You help me, you won't be able to Vin." said Dika while shaking his head, as his lips covered a bland smile.
"Why is that?"
"Have not asked again, give me one Vin! I was lazy to walk there." said Dika while exhaling his breath violently.
"The problem can't be solved by drunkenness. Maybe you can forget it for a moment, but once the alcohol's influence is gone, you'll remember it again, and it'll be even more painful" Alvin replied at length.
"Then?"
"Learn to share, even though I'm not a great business man like you, but I'm not stupid either. Tell me, who knows I can give you a solution!" alvin said as he looked at Dika.
"You sure you can come up with a solution?" ask Dika.
"Maybe."
"You really want to know what my problem is?" ask Dika.
"If you want to share, I'm ready to listen. But if your problem is too privacy, don't tell. I'm not forcing you, but please listen to me. Don't get drunk!" dika said firmly.
Actually Dika is a good guy, but dear man always makes alcohol as a runaway.
"Actually not privacy, it's just that I find it difficult to share with you" said Dika while looking down.
"Why, you think I can't keep a secret?"
"Not about that."
"Then?" ask Alvin.
"My problem is this, because of your sister." replied Dika quietly.
Alvin gasped in surprise, it turns out Dika still loves Dusk.
Alvin thought, after Dusk got married, Dika would erase his feelings, but he did not.
"Can you help me Vin?" dika asked as she lifted her face, and looked at Alvin.
Alvin was silent, he did not know what to answer. If it was about Dusk, Alvin could not help him at all. He could not force his sister's feelings.
"I love him so much Vin, but he never considered me. He used to prefer Dawn. And now he chose himself, and told me to stop loving him. Is that as bad as I was in Vin's eyes?" asked Dika while still staring at Alvin.
"I promised to love my son like my own. But why he didn't want to, why he chose himself instead. That was how he felt for Dawn." said Dika, because Alvin was still silent.
Alvin looked down, he remembered back to what happened at his wedding. It was only natural that now his sister had chosen herself, by mistake, and that regret must have tormented his inner self immensely.
"There are many things you don't know" Alvin said slowly.
"What do you mean?" dika asked while frowning in wonder.
"His life Dusk is not as beautiful as you imagine, his life is full of burdens. He has a reason why he chose himself." replied Alvin while staring at Dika.
"Vin I don't understand what you're saying, please explain!" said Dika.
"There are a lot of privacy things you probably don't need to know. But stop loving her, maybe that's what's best for you" Alvin said, patting Dika on the shoulder.
"Does this have anything to do with his death Dawn?" ask Dika.
"Why do you think that?"
"She's weak, I can't believe it's Vin. I've known him for a long time, but I've never heard of him having a heart attack. Vin you must know something about that, please tell me what's really going on" Dika said quickly.
"I have no right to say it. Please understand!" answer Alvin.
"So actually Dawn did not have a heart, then what pain did she have? What this has to do with Adara being suddenly disowned by her family." Dika's inner self in her heart.
"You're a bitch!" grouse Dika. He was upset, because Alvin did not give him a drink, nor did he give him any information about Dawn.
***
Two months later.
The age of the womb has entered the eighth month. His relationship with Ken is quite good, although he has not opened his heart, but he is no longer away from him as he used to be.
Just like today, Ken called her early in the morning, and asked her to go shopping for baby supplies. It just so happens that today is Sunday. Ken doesn't work, and he uses his time to go with Dusk.
Now that the clock is showing at 08:00 in the morning, Ken might be coming to pick him up soon. Dusk stared at his reflection in the mirror. At that time he wore a light green loose dress, which was far below the knee. Her stomach is now increasingly bulging, but does not reduce the level of beauty.
His long hair he just let loose. He was too lazy to shake it.
Dusk's gaze turned on a frame of photo he had placed on the table. Wedding photo of himself with Dawn. Slowly, Dusk took the photo. He looked at her, and rubbed her gently.
"Bag Dawn!" call Dusk while smiling.
"I don't know what to do. I don't know if my decision is right or wrong. I gave Ken a chance. I don't know which one to choose, keep your love, or give my son a future" said Dusk slowly.
"Why destiny unites us so briefly. If only you were still here, I would have chosen to spend the rest of my life with you. But the truth is you're gone, I find it hard to get through this without you, sister!" said Dusk while staring at the beautiful smile of Dawn in the photo.
Then Dusk put back the photo, and he stared at the circular bracelet in his hand.
"A painful year!" said Dusk while grasping the bracelet of the clock very tightly.
Dusk closed his eyes, his mind glazed far away, remembering his good times with Dawn. From the time they date, until they get married. Vaguely Dusk reviewed the sweet smile on his lips.
"You live the memory of Kak, your presence only incarnated in the shadows. But believe me, your name is always enthroned in the space of my heart." whispered Dusk with a smile.
"Nja!" call Nina while opening the door of the twilight room.
"Eh yes Nin." said Dusk while turning his head, looking at Nina who was standing in the doorway.
"There's Ken outside, you have an appointment with him?" asked Nina as she stepped towards Dusk.
Looking at the tidy Twilight, it seemed like he was going out with Ken.
"Yes, he's taking me shopping for baby gear." replied Dusk as he grabbed his sling bag.
"Oh so."
"Yes, yes, I have left now, Nin." said Dusk.
"Yes, be careful Nja." replied Nina. And Dusk responded with a nod.
Nina smiled widely, as she looked at the body of Dusk who had disappeared behind the door.
"I wish you could be happy Nja." murmured Nina softly.
Meanwhile Dusk stepped towards the living room, there was already Ken who was waiting for him while sitting on a chair.
Ken smiled sweetly, as he looked at Dusk who had just arrived in the living room.
"Are you ready?"
"Had it." replied Dusk while nodding.
"Where's Alvin's brother?" ask Ken.
"With out."
"Oh, are we leaving now?" ask Alvin.
"Come on!" replied Dusk as he stepped towards the door.
"Well what is that?" ken asked as he stared at the large plastic bag that Dusk had brought.
"It's people's pastries, it's okay to deliver this first. The address is in line with our purpose." replied Dusk.
"It's okay, here let me take it" Ken said with a smile, grabbing the bag, and taking it into the car.
Now they are sitting next to each other on the front bench. Ken started the engine of his car, and started to drive it slowly.
Every now and then Ken glanced at the woman sitting beside him. Looking at his bulging stomach, Ken felt his heart start to churn. Ahh if only they had truly married, and the child was present through no fault, surely he would be the happiest person at the moment.
As for Dusk, he turned his face away. He stared at the tall buildings that stood firm along the road.
The city of Surabaya still remains the same, nothing has changed at all. The city is still crowded, and busy.
"My place on foot has not changed, but my way of life has changed." said Dusk in his heart. Not yet had he imagined his memories with Dawn, suddenly Ken's voice surprised him.
"Yes!" call Ken.
"Yes." replied Dusk turning his head.
"Stare ahead, don't look to the side, let alone back. Because living to pursue the future, not survive in the present, let alone shackled with the past" Ken said with a smile. That's a sentence that Dusk used to say in the past.
As they were in the car, and Ken kept staring at him, Dusk would definitely throw out that line.
Seriate......
