The Sanctity of Tarnished Love

The Sanctity of Tarnished Love
One Week Later

Day by day, it keeps changing. A week had passed, since Dusk had returned to live in his house. His health has improved, as well as the fetus in the womb. Alvin had always been near Dusk, never once had he left his sister. Even for shopping, and taking care of the club, he asked Dika for help. Alvin always made sure Dusk to eat on time, and rest enough. Despite his days, Dusk remained silent in his room, but Alvin never harassed him. She let whatever her sister did as long as it did not harm her, as well as the baby.

This morning Dusk woke up early, he caught up with his sister who was cooking in the kitchen. Alvin frowned in wonder, not usually Dusk out of the room this early. Usually until Alvin finished preparing breakfast, Dusk has not come out if not called.

"Good morning Brother." said Dusk while sitting on the chair, he looked at Alvin who was whipping eggs.

"For Nja, mmm today I'm just cooking an omelet, is that okay? The vegetable supply is exhausted, only eggs and instant noodles are left" said Alvin, turning his head, and looking at his sister at a glance.

"Since when I choose to eat, sister, let me help you" said Dusk as he moved from his seat, and grabbed the bowl containing the egg that Alvin was holding.

"Oh well." replied Alvin while scratching his head.

"Senja looks much better, than yesterday. Ahh hopefully he can continue like this." said Alvin in his heart.

"Sister Alvin has tried hard to comfort me, and strengthen me. I can't keep weighing on his mind. I have to try to look good, so that Alvin can work, and move as usual. From now on, this wound is enough for me, and my God alone knows." In the twilight while pouring a whisk of eggs into the teflon.

"Sister!" call Dusk without turning his head, he focused on staring at the yellowing omelet.

"Yes to Nja."

"Today will go to the apartment" said Dusk slowly.

"What! Are you gonna live there?" alvin shouted quickly. It was nothing, but with the current state of Dusk, he could not bear if Dusk stayed far away from him.

"No need to shout, that's not what I mean." said Dusk with a smile, while putting an omelet into the dish.

"Then?" alvin asked while frowning in wonder.

"I'll take my things, brother. I'll bring her here, and I'll stay with Brother again. The apartment belongs to Kak Fajar, not mine." replied Dusk with a bitter smile.

Dusk remembers about last night. Ms. Rani called him in anger. He blames Dusk for not telling about his illness Dawn. Also blame Dusk who is pregnant with someone else's child. Saying Dusk is a cheap woman, who is not dignified, and only wants her fortune Dawn.

"If you don't want Dawn's property, you should leave that apartment! It belongs to Dawn, you have absolutely no rights. You came to be a part of this family without bringing a penny of treasure, so you should also leave without bringing anything!"

"I'll go Ma."

"Don't call me Mama, you're no longer my daughter-in-law. I don't have a lowly daughter-in-law like you!"

That was his brief conversation with Bu Rani last night. Dusk did not argue, because in fact she was pregnant with someone else. And treasure, in fact, he did not bring any treasure at all when married to Dawn.

"I'm going back to this house, I'm going to live with Brother who's been taking care of me since childhood. I will begin my new life here, a life of my own, without being accompanied by the man I love." Inner Twilight in his heart.

"Nja!" call Alvin.

"Yes Brother."

"You're daydreaming, why? Any issues?" ask Alvin.

"No brother, I'm fine." replied Dusk.

"Did Aunt Rani say something to you, did she make you move quickly?" ask Alvin.

"Not Brother, don't misunderstand me. I'm just self-conscious. It belongs to Dawn, not mine. After all I still have Big Brother, why would I stay there by myself, I would rather stay here to accompany Big Brother." replied Dusk with a smile.

"Alright then, I'll drive ya." said Alvin while returning a smile Dusk.

"Hopefully what you say is true Nja, may Aunt Rani not hurt you" Alvin said in his heart.

The circular clock hand in Dusk shows the number 09.00. Dusk, and Alvin just arrived at the apartment yard. They deliberately rented a taxi, because Dusk would carry his belongings. Although not much, but it will be difficult if you ride the bike.

"Shopping is okay. I can clean up on my own." Dusk told Alvin.

"You sure?" ask Alvin.

"Sure Brother, rather than later we stop by again, you better shop now, while waiting for me to finish" said Dusk.

Alvin seemed to think for a moment, sometimes he looked at his sister who was smiling at him.

"All right, I'll go shopping. You be careful yeah, I'll be right back." said Alvin.

"Yes, Brother be careful too."

"Yes" replied Alvin as he stepped closer to the taxi he had been riding.

After Alvin left, Dusk also stepped his feet. His heart beat rapidly as he entered the elevator.

A few minutes later, Dusk had arrived at the doorstep of the apartment. A place that bears silent witness to his relationship with Dawn, bears witness to the love they knit in a marriage bond.

Slowly Dusk opened the door, he stepped in with teary eyes. Dusk stared at the furniture in the living room, nothing changed, still the same as some time ago. But this room became empty, there was no more warmth, and happiness when he entered it. Precisely there is only the feeling of a very painful wound, which so cuts his heart.

Dusk continued to spread his legs, his tears began to drip down both of his cheeks. Silence, silence, no more noise, no more laughter. Since Dawn died, Aunt waiter also left this apartment. He returned to work at Bu Rani's house.

Dusk stood right in front of his bedroom door. His chest felt tight, as if there was no longer room to breathe. With a trembling body, Dusk opened the door of his room. Her watery eyes stared at every inch of the room.

Dusk stepped in, and ran towards the window of his room. His curtains were still wide open, reminding him of one morning on his birthday. It was there that Fajar hugged her tightly while whispering the words of love that made her blush.

Dusk gripped the curtain very tightly, and shed its cry there. He did not expect that day to be his last with Dawn.

"Bad Dawn! Brother Dawn!" call Dusk while crying.

After standing there long enough, Dusk stepped towards his bed. Dusk felt white sheets, and also a brown blanket that was still a mess. He recalled his laughter with Dawn that morning. Dawn that asks to be called dear, Dawn that rubs her stomach, and looking for a name for her child. And now that all those memories remain, none of them can be repeated.

Dusk hugged the thick blanket of brown color that was in front of him. Blankets that usually cover their bodies when they are asleep, blankets that witness when they sleep while hugging. Dusk hugged the blanket tighter and tighter, and he drowned his face there. The twilight cry grew even more broken as the usual fragrance of Fajar wore began to seep into his nose.

"I miss you, brother!" said Dusk on the sidelines of his cry.

Now all Dusk can breathe is his used perfume, no longer his actual scent.

Dawn is only memory, and shadow. He can no longer be incarnated in a real form.
