The Day of Waiting

The day has passed with sadness. It is not easy for him to give up the prospective baby who has long awaited his presence.

All sorts of ways Dimas has done to be able to restore the happiness of Dini, until finally a smile is seen again from the long-sad face.

That night, Dimas and Dini were at a hotel near the beach. Dini stood looking at the dark expanse from the balcony of her hotel room.

Shortly afterwards Dimas came and hugged Dini from behind.

"I still want to be here" replied Dini refused.

"You can catch a cold if you stay here too long, baby" said Dimas by hugging Dini tighter.

Dini just silently stared at the flickering stars in the night sky. There was a longing that slowly filled the space of his heart. Missing someone she has never even seen.

Yes, he misses the fetus that had lived in his womb. Fetus that he did not even know his gender.

When happiness is almost perfect, in an instant destiny reverses its course. Although it was hard for him, he could only try to accept it.

He knew what had happened to him had been outlined in his fate book, only it was not easy for him to accept such a painful fate.

But behind that, he was lucky to have Dimas who was always there for him, who always gave him love and affection throughout his life.

Dini just nodded her head then turned around and hugged Dimas tightly. Dimas then carried Dini, brought him into the room and dropped him on the bed slowly.

Dimas pulled the blanket and drowned Dini and herself in one blanket. Dimas gave Dini a brief kiss before he closed his eyes.

That night, they fell back asleep with longing that always filled the space of their hearts.

Days changed, months passed. Anita has never been out of her house since her stomach got bigger.

Her gestational age which has stepped on 9 months makes her more silent in the room.

Not infrequently aunty had to force a little Anita so that Anita would want to get out of the room to just walk in the yard.

About Andi, he still hides his relationship with Anita from everyone. He himself did not understand what kind of relationship was actually established between himself and Anita.

He always took the time to meet Anita in between her busy life. Luckily, Anita did not demand much from him.

Since Anita stayed home, almost every Sunday Andi bought some comics for Anita.

She does not want Anita to feel bored and eventually stressed out because she has to stay at home to hide her pregnancy from everyone.

"There are so many things that I have to do Nit," said Andi by giving the book he just bought to Anita.

"Book about childbirth? make what?" anita asked after she received Andi's book.

"You have to learn it's Nit" replied Andi.

"No need, I have often read on the internet really," said Anita who made Andi a little surprised.

To Andi's knowledge, Anita is completely unconcerned about her pregnancy, but hearing Anita read an article about childbirth leaves Andi a little surprised.

"I'm also afraid of the same bad possibilities that occur Ndi, so I find out what I should do when giving birth later!" said Anita.

"I'll prepare everything well Nit, the best hospital, the best doctor, I'll do everything that's best for you" Andi said.

"I think you only care about this baby!" anita said with a faint smile.

"I also care about you Anita, I'll make sure everything goes well" Andi replied.

"Why are you admitting all this Ndi? you should have gone and missed all this without having to feel responsible!"

"I may be able to go and forget what I did to you, but since you were pregnant with my child, I can't go that way, she's a part of me and you're Nit, he's our son" Andi said.

"We? no, he's your son!"

Andi sighed then came closer and hugged Anita.

"Whatever happens he is your son Nit, like it or not, he is part of you" Andi said.

"I don't want to assume she's my son Ndi, after I give birth, I don't want to deal with this child anymore!"

Andi nodded her head while still hugging Anita. He will not force Anita to accept his son, he does not want Anita more emotional as he forced Anita.

"I'll take good care of him, whenever you change your mind, you can meet me!"

"Don't expect too much" said Anita then released herself from Andi's embrace.

Anita then went up to her bed and laid herself down.

Andi then pulled the blanket and covered Anita's body with a thick blanket.

"You know Ndi, because of this kid I've never slept well now!" anita was upset.

"What can I do to let you sleep well?" ask Andi.

"Take him to your stomach!" answer Anita who made Andi chuckle.

"If I could I would've moved on from yesterday's Nit, I don't want you to feel uncomfortable with you right now" Andi said.

"But no papa, soon I will be free from this large stomach," said Anita by wiping her stomach.

Andi just smiled seeing Anita rubbing her big belly. In her heart she always wanted to rub it, feeling the movements Anita used to tell her.

But every time Andi wants to do it, Anita always forbids it.

"Grave!"

One word that Anita always said when Andi wanted to touch and feel the movement in Anita's stomach.

Andi can only resist his desire, he will not force to do things that are not allowed by Anita.

Days change. That morning, Andi was already at his campus. He was busy with his school activities.

After finishing her class, Andi contacted Anita. According to the results of the examination of the doctor, Anita's delivery is only waiting for a few more days.

He does not want to make Anita feel uncomfortable if he contacts Anita too often, that's why he contacts her more often.

"Hello Nit, are you awake?" andi asked when Anita had received her call.

"Why? it's contraction?"

"Was she drinking milk?"

"Well, where are you now?"

"I'm still in college, I'm going to your house after my last class is over" Andi replied.

"Okay, I wait," Anita replied.

The call ended, Andi then entered his class.

When finished, Andi again contacted Anita to ask her how she was.

"It's still the same as it was this morning, it's not very good" Anita replied

"But not yet a contraction?" andi asked worriedly.

"Not yet" Anita answered briefly.

"You take a break, don't forget to eat fruit, I'll be there in 2 hours" said Andi.

"OK," Anita replied.

On the other hand, Anita who felt uncomfortable with her stomach could only sit and stand without doing anything.

Suddenly he felt his lower abdomen was painful, the longer the pain felt in the back, the stomach then spread to his thighs and legs.

It happened for only a few seconds and slowly all the pain disappeared.

When Anita felt the pain again, she shouted to aunt. Bibipun immediately ran to Anita's room.

"Auntie call den Andi first yes non!" said aunt but soon prevented by Anita.

"Don't bi, Andi is still on campus now" Anita said.

"But non....."

"No papa bi, Anita knows when Anita will give birth, Anita has read a lot about childbirth" Anita told aunty.

"But aunt is worried non, what should aunt do now?"

"Aunt Anita Temenin aja, Anita will count the length of her contract distance, if the distance is getting closer aunt contact Andi!" anita answered explaining.

"Good non," replied aunty.

Time pass. Anita still feels the pain every 20 minutes.

"if it wasn't for your request, I wouldn't have endured this Ndi pain" Anita said in her heart.

Shortly after, the sound of a car was heard entering the courtyard of Anita's house. Andi immediately ran into Anita's room.

Just as Andi was entering, Anita was having her contract. Andi immediately approached and clasped Anita's hand.

"We go to the hospital now yes, please prepare the goods Anita bi!" said Andi who looked so worried and panicked.

Anita only moaned with a firm grip on Andi's hand as the pain she felt all over her body.

"Don't panic Ndi, I've calculated the contract distance anyway, there is still a lot of time for us to go to the hospital," said Anita trying to calm Andi after his contract subsided.

Andi just nodded her head and then immediately carried Anita into the car.

During the trip, Andi looks so panicked and nervous, while Anita is more relaxed because she can already estimate the time of giving birth.

Arriving at the hospital, Anita was immediately taken to the delivery room. Just as Anita said, the Doctor explained that Anita will be ready to give birth if the contract distance is getting closer.

The doctor came out of Anita's room, leaving Anita and Andi there. Andi clasped Anita's hand and stroked Anita's face which somehow looked more beautiful in her eyes.

"What will you do after this?" ask Anita to Andi

"I will take good care of him Nit, I will try to be a good father to him" replied Andi.

"Where is your family? are you gonna hide him forever?"

"No, I'll take her home, I don't know how you will react when you know I come home with this little baby," Andi replied as she rubbed Anita's stomach.

"Sorry Ndi, I can't help anything, we've agreed on this!" said Anita.

"Yes, I understand, I will try to explain to my mother what I have been hiding all this time" said Andi.

"And your mom won't let me!"

"I will do anything so that mom or anyone does not disturb your life Nit, you just calm down!" andi said, holding Anita's hand.

"After this do not look for me again Ndi, I will go as far as possible and do not expect anything else to be with me, because until anytime my decision will never change!"

Andi just nodded her head with a smile.

Suddenly Anita gripped Andi's hand firmly, he again moaned feeling increasingly strong pain in his lower abdomen.

The pain spread to other parts of his body, making him groan even more to withstand the pain he felt at that time.

"Aarrghh... sakiiiitt!!" anita said with a face that looked in pain.

Andi then rubbed Anita's stomach, he did not know what he could do to reduce the pain that Anita felt at that time.

As her contract distance neared, Anita asked Andi to call the Doctor. The doctor came and checked on Anita.

The doctor advised Anita to sit with her arms around Andi and asked Andi to hug and rub her back.

Every now and then Anita got out of her bed, standing with her arms around Andi. They danced slowly by hugging each other while Andi's hands continued to rub Anita's back gently.

Until the time came, something flowed down Anita's feet. Andi immediately brought Anita lying on the bed.

The doctor prepares to help Anita give birth to her child. With glassy eyes Andi grasped tightly Anita's hand, trying to transfer her power to Anita who was struggling to give birth to her child.

While Anita clutched firmly Andi's hand, even though she had read many articles about childbirth, she just felt what kind of pain she felt as the baby in her womb moved towards her exit.

Seconds passed like very slow for Andi, she seemed to be able to feel what kind of pain Anita felt at that moment.

In her heart she kept praying for Anita and her baby.

"One more time yes, push strong!" the Doctor told Anita.

For the last time, Anita groaned strongly with the last push she gave her baby.
