Mike looked at the man expressionlessly. There was no hostile look he showed. The long haired man in front of him was like that too. He looks like a man with no ambition. It was clearly on his long face.
"Sorry, but can I know your name?" Gried breaks the tense atmosphere by asking a question. To be honest he didn't want any fights when everyone was tired from defeating monsters.
"Mike Charles." Mike turned to Gried, staring at the boy's innocent face. For a moment Mike put on a flat face, but then he smiled as he looked at Gried who was shocked by his facial expression.
"Where does Brother Cha know my name?"
"Sister Cha?!!" Mike is shocked when he hears the call Gried gave him. That sounds like a call to a sister.
"Well, about that...." Mike looked away. He's looking for a reasonable reason. Mike knew that the system they were using was different. Mike is like a special player and gets many features that other players do not get.
"Am I being ignored here? You guys seem to be busy with your own conversations." Said the man with long hair who had been watching their conversation.
"Ah, sorry. You're too insignificant to make me forget." Mike turned his head to the man, throwing a smile that made the man feel annoyed.
"I'm Scepia, are you challenging me?" The man, Scepia, stood up from his sitting position. He approached Mike. His stature was thin, making Mike have to look up when he looked at him.
"When did I tell you I was going to challenge you?"
"You ignore me, you disrespect me. So, it's the same as challenging me." Scepia smiled with a condescending look. Mike growled softly. His jaw has been hardened since.
"Sorry for that. Ah, I'll take Gried with me. Does anyone mind?"
"Wait, hold on a second! Don't take our members for granted." Scepia holds Mike's shoulder, pressing him in hopes Mike will moan in pain.
"Why are you so adamant about wanting to keep him when you say he's not helping anything. If you guys just want to find trouble with me, frankly! Don't involve the Gried who has nothing to do." Mike held onto Scepia's wrist which was holding her shoulder.
Scepia is shocked when she feels the power of Mike's grip. Instead of making Mike in pain, it was him who was made in pain by Mike.
"Don't misunderstand me. Although he's useless against monsters, he's our errand boy and extra lives for us." Scepia tries not to show a face that is enduring the pain. He slightly shuddered when he saw the look on Mike's face that was getting shriveled.
"extra? You mean Gried just as bait as people say there? Though you are only level one, but already dare to play around with the lives of others. What a pathetic bunch of people." Mike forcibly removed Scepia's grip on his shoulder. Their strength was on a much different level, of course Scepia had no chance to rival him.
While they were busy with each other, a dimension break occurred right near them. All players stood with horses, preparing to launch an attack on the monsters that would appear.
"No matter how strong you are, you won't be able to defeat us all at once. Now sit back and watch us defeat the monsters. After that you'll understand that we have a great partnership." Scepia snorted, walking closer to where the dimension break occurred.
DETECTED MONSTERS WITH INTERMEDIATE LEVELS THAT ARE NEAR YOU.
THE TYPE OF MONSTER THAT APPEARED WAS AN ORC, A MONSTER OF A HIGHER LEVEL THAN A GOBLIN.
A LEVEL 1 ORC WAS EQUIVALENT TO A LEVEL FIVE GOBLIN.
Mike was stunned to see the warning given by the system. The monsters that came out this time were different from the ones they had previously faced. Although they managed to defeat level five goblins, but the monsters that would appear this time would probably be equivalent to level ten goblins.
"Damn!" Mike curses while biting his lips. He wasn't sure he could face such a monster. But he couldn't just leave them either. It would be very dangerous if a monster like this roamed freely in the city.
"What's up, Cha? Your face looks so worried, or upset?" Martha tilted her head, trying to see Mike's face.
"Stop picking me up like that. I don't have time to serve you. We are in danger now." Mike turned his gaze to the dimension break that would soon open perfectly.
"Even if you say we're in danger, it's not something they or I can handle. Are we gonna help?" Martha turned to look at the other players who were waiting for the monster to come. Martha felt made because they did not know that she was now standing right in front of her own death.
"We have to help. Although it is still at level one, but if you have a good cooperation will be very helpful." Mike reached out his hand, taking out the sword from the inventory. Martha was a little surprised to see Mike who could store items without needing yas or anything like that.
Mike walked up to them with a very serious look. He can't let anyone die again.
"Listen to me carefully, I won't repeat it twice. You and my comrades teamed up to defeat a level one monster. I will try to defeat the strongest monster that will appear." Mike gets ready, put up the horses.
"I don't know how strong you are, but you underestimated us too much. Didn't you see the monster carcass there? He was a level five monster. Then you told us to cooperate with that woman and defeat a level one monster? I know you want to show off power, but we're not gonna let that happen." Scepia pushes Mike's body backwards. He does not like Mike who seems arrogant and shows off his strength.
"I'm not kidding. It's up to you, but don't blame me if anyone dies." Mike wiped the sweat off his forehead. Though the monster had yet to appear, but he was already sweating coldly.
Mike can't be scared, he can't back down. As the first player, he had a hard task to save others who were not players. Even he also still had the duty to protect other players.
"Scepia, I feel like we better listen to what she says." One of them tries to persuade Scepia to trust Mike and cooperate with him.
"No, you guys are there! I'm going to show that arrogant fellow that being strong alone is the wrong choice." Scepia rejected calls to cooperate and chose to stay on the front lines.
"Shadow gate." Mike raised his hand to the right. A gate slowly formed from Mike's fingertips. Exit some goblins from the gate that made other players besides Martha stunned.
"Who said I was alone? I still have my partner and them."
The wind blows from the direction of the dimension break. Though this was still not a mid-level monster, but Mike could already feel the title feather standing. He knew he was still weak. When he has grown stronger, the system will increase the level of difficulty.
"Prepare, wait for my cue to strike."
