Regrets After the Farewell

Regrets After the Farewell
Chapter 45.

Without feeling the time is too fast to turn. The sky that had been bright, now turned dark with the wind that came to hit the bodies of Safia and Salman.

Nearly three hours later, both of them fell asleep unknowingly, and Safia jerked and opened her eyes slowly. How surprised he was when he found his body that was still loyal to the body of Salman.

Aware of the mistake she was not supposed to make, Safia quickly got up from where she lay. Salman who had been awake first was only silent while looking at Safia who looked pale in fear.

"Sorry, I-I..."

It was very difficult for Safia to say when she knew that she had crossed the line.

Not only embarrassed, he even cursed himself because he was washed away in the warmth of the embrace of the man who until now still lives in his heart.

It is not easy for Safia to forget Salman, the man already has a special place in his heart despite the many sufferings that Salman has sown in his life.

"It's not you, but I'm the one who should be apologizing. I was wrong, I asked you to stay. Once again forgive me, again I impose my will on you."

Salman tried to get up from the sofa, his gaze blurred as he sat and stared intimately at Safia.

"Get in the room, clean yourself first before you go back to the hospital!" added Salman.

"No, I'll go now. I-"

Regardless of what was on Salman's mind at the moment, he pulled Safia back and hugged her tightly as if he did not want to let go.

Yes, Salman knows that he has lost his right to Safia, but how hard he tries to deny, his feelings cannot be lied to. He did not want Safia to leave, but circumstances did not allow for Safia to remain by his side.

"Thank you for the time wasted just to keep me company. I promise I will come to the hospital to visit Saka, I will not run anymore" said Salman tightened his embrace.

"Hm... I trust you, but can you come with me. I'm afraid Saka is angry for not taking you with me. Please.." pinta Safia who complied when Salman clutched her tightly.

"If you insist, what can I do?" Salman suddenly smiled and distanced himself from Safia.

Conscious or not, Salman felt calm for a while. It was as if he had found something missing a long time ago.

"Can you help me to my room? I wanted to take a shower for a while, my body was too sweaty and smelly." Salman asked with a clear look.

"Room?" Safia was aghast with perfectly rounded eyes. As soon as his mind became incompetent, it was impossible for two strangers like them to enter the same room.

"Hehe... Don't think about it, I was just kidding. Then wait a minute,"

Salman got up from his seat and staggered to endure the pain that was still very disturbing.

Safia who saw that certainly felt pity. But she did not have the courage to help, fearing that her good intentions were misinterpreted by her ex-husband.

After waiting for about half an hour, Salman finally came out with a fresh body wrapped in clean clothes.

Even with gray hair, Salman's good looks are no different than they were seven years ago. His charm still remains the same, making Safia's heart suddenly pounding erratically, he quickly threw away his face because it was not strong enough to withstand the increasingly torturous debate.

"Are you sure you don't want to clean yourself up first?" salman asked, opening his voice.

"No need, just later in the hospital" said Safia, who turned her eyes to Salman.

"Yes, come on!" bring Salman who just walked to the door.

"Wait, Mom!" safia shouted while rising from her seat.

"What's wrong?" salman asked, turning around.

"That-that's..." Safia suddenly stuttered while turning her neck towards the room. "Your wife... Can I meet him? I want to ask for permission, I don't want any misunderstanding between you."

"Haha... Which wife?" ask Salman.

Safia squinted at Salman who laughed at her so lightly without any guilt. There was a feeling of fear as well as embarrassment that appeared in his heart.

"There is no need to ask anyone for permission, I have no one else, let alone a wife" Salman added, continuing his steps to the door.

Safia who heard that was suddenly dumbstruck with a frowning forehead. What does Salman mean? Has he misjudged Salman?

Safia thinks Salman is missing because he wants to move on with the woman he loves. That is why Salman never returned because according to Safia his life was perfect.

With so many questions coming to his mind, Safia ran after Salman who was already standing at the door. Safia looked at him like a confused person when Salman closed the door and locked it.

"Come on!" take Salman after the door is locked. He stepped first towards the car parked in front of the fence.

Shortly after Safia came in and sat on the steering wheel, Salman came in and sat down next to her.

There was no talk between them, all the way Safia just focus on driving while Salman just silently stare at the streets.

Salman does not want to talk much, he knows their path is different even though they have to be together for Saka. Ultimately, Salman and Safia's relationship will be nothing more than ex-con.

After traveling for about half an hour, Safia turned the car's steering wheel towards the hospital basement. After turning off the engine, the two went down and walked side by side with a distance of approximately half a meter. At first glance it looks like a pair of lovers who are hostile.

"Come in first, I'll catch up later!" salman stopped his steps at the entrance.

"Where are you going?" safia asked curiously with a frowning forehead.

"A moment, I just want to go to the toilet" replied Salman then left Safia.

Salman actually lied to Safia, she did not go to the toilet but instead looked for air to calm down. Salman is afraid that Saka will be surprised to see his arrival as the father figure the boy longs for.

The earth stopped turning for a while. Saka will reject his presence because he previously knew him as a foreigner.

"Yourf..." Salman let out a heavy sigh and threw it away violently while rubbing his chest that suddenly thumped. The pain was so felt when thinking about all the mistakes he had made.

I don't know what God has planned behind all this. Seven years disappeared suddenly he had become a father figure unexpectedly. It was all like a dream that came over unintentionally.

After spending some time calming himself down, Salman ventured into the hospital. His steps were limped as he walked down the corridor to the son's room.

"Ma, where's Papa? Why did you come alone?" the boy is seen catching Safia's arrival.

Safia smiled without answering her son's question, and he approached and sat down on the edge of the gurney. He rubbed the boy's head and kissed him fondly.

"Papa is still outside, soon Papa will come." said Safia.

"Mama's not lying, is she? Why don't you just come together?" cerca Saka who still doubts the words of the mother.

"No dear, Mama didn't lie. Papa had permission to go to the toilet for a while," explained Safia while pinching Saka's cheek. He knows how much Saka hopes to meet Salman, which may be discouraging his son.

Tok Tok Tok...

The sound of knocking on the door came from outside. Instantly Saka got up from the bed with round eyes staring at the glass door that was still tightly closed.

"Ma, is that Papa?" ask Saka enthusiastically.

"Hm... Saka just sit down, let Mama open the door." Safia left her seat and walked towards the door while carving a smile. He was pleased that Salman kept his promise to follow him.
