"Ma, is Saka cured?" asked the boy shortly after waking up from his sleep early in the morning.
Just now the boy had a dream of meeting the figure of a man who claimed to be his father. She thought the dream was real, but when she woke up no one was beside her except Safia.
Instantly Saka's gaze turned mellow, clearly the look on his face showed deep sadness. He looked at Safia with his eyes as if he could not believe what he saw with his eyes.
"That Uncle said, this is the last time Saka went to the hospital. After this Saka will recover and meet with Papa. Then where's Papa, Ma? Why didn't Papa come to see Saka? Did that uncle lie?" the seven-year-old was talking to Safia about a series of questions that were very difficult to answer.
Safia was silent for a while, she tried to sort out the words so that Saka would not ask her that again.
Safia was completely confused, she did not know what to answer.
Is it time for Saka to know that Salman is the man she missed so far? Safia hesitated to tell her son the truth.
"Saka, Papa must have come. Now Saka should not think of anything, Saka should be healed first, later Saka will know who Papa Saka is." Safia replied giving a reason that she thought was quite reasonable, he rubbed the boy's hair to calm him down.
"But Ma, Saka wants to know now." urged the boy. He didn't want to wait anymore, he had been patient for too long, he couldn't help it anymore. He was eager to meet the father and embrace him, pouring out all the feelings he had been craving all along.
"Dear, Mama knows, but-"
"Say Ma, where's Papa? If Mama doesn't want to talk, Saka will get out of here, Saka can find Papa alone."
Saka got up from the bed and tried to get down from the gurney, luckily Safia quickly prevented him.
"Yes, honey. Mama will bring Papa here, Saka patient first yes, Saka bobok again yes!" said Safia while helping Saka lie back down.
There seems to be no other way than to tell Saka who Salman really is, however Saka deserves to know who his father is. Safia also could not bear to hide this reality for too long.
"Saka wait here first yes, Mama wants to go out for a while, Mama will bring Papa here." Safia persuaded while rubbing her son's head fondly, she will meet Salman and bring him to meet Saka.
"Mama's not lying, is she?" saka asked making sure with an intimidating look.
"No dear, Mama did not lie, Mama promised to bring Papa in front of Saka. But Saka also has to promise Mama, whoever Saka sees later, Saka must not be angry about hating Papa!" safia reminded her son.
Safia believes Saka would have been surprised to see Salman later, but she just wants to make sure that Saka accepts Salman as her real father.
Although between him and Salman there was no relationship anymore, at least Safia had to give up for the good of her son. Safia does not want Saka to lose the affection of a father.
"Yes, Saka promised." nodded the boy as he hooked his middle and index fingers.
After getting a satisfactory answer from Saka, Safia smiled and left the room for a moment. He stepped into Salman's room next to his son's.
Shortly after the door opened, Safia was astonished to see the empty and tidy room, there was no trace of the patient who had just stayed in the room. It all looks like an unanticipated room.
Safia who had been steady to bring Salman to meet her son, now looks restless with a head of daze to every corner of the room, she combed the place to the bathroom, and then she was, make sure that Salman is still in that room.
But who would have thought that it turned out that Salman was really no longer in the room. Safia became even more panicked given her promise to Saka just now.
Safia knows very well how her son is, the boy will not stay silent if he finds out that Safia is lying to him.
Just as Safia was about to step out of the room, the door suddenly creaked which made Safia's blood flow profusely.
A speck of hope suddenly appeared in Safia's mind, she thought it was Salman, but after turning her gaze towards the door, Safia's countenance darkened again with a deep sense of disappointment.
Not Salman, but even Alex who appeared in front of him. The man approached her and stood up while pecking at Safia's face which implied sadness.
"I'm sorry, he's gone. I was unable to prevent it, she insisted on leaving the hospital even though she was still very weak. He doesn't want to ruin the happiness of you two, he also apologizes for leaving without saying goodbye." Alex feels guilty for failing to keep Salman in that hospital.
"Why didn't you stop him?" snapped Safia with a voice that suddenly rose, she was angry and disappointed at Alex.
"Once again I'm sorry, I-I"
"Just apologize to me. You think that apologetically everything can be repeated, huh?"
Safia was silent for a moment, she was sitting lethargic on the edge of the gurney as tears suddenly fell down her cheeks, she felt like she had failed to keep her promise to Saka.
"What should I tell Saka? My son is eager to meet his father" Safia said, weeping over Salman's shock departure.
Not without reason Safia was crying like this. She knows Salman is no longer her husband, but the father-son relationship will not break even if the two are no longer together.
Saka had long hoped to meet his father. But when that day came, why did Salman leave for the second time?
Not only angry at Alex, Safia is also upset at Salman who always left without talking to her first. Didn't Salman love Saka even as big as a spinach seed?
Did Salman never think that Saka also needed a father figure beside him? Why is Salman always acting as he pleases without thinking about the feelings of others?
With eyes puffy after throwing out a cry, Safia got up from her seat and left the room in a hurry. Even Alex's presence was meaningless in his eyes.
Safia then ran along the corridor without thinking about the views of the people leading to her. He hopes to still catch up with Salman and prevent him from leaving.
But all the efforts made by Safia only ended in vain, there was no trace of Salman left in the hospital, even CCTV could not show anything.
Salman has arranged for his departure so neatly that no one will know where he is going.
Safia herself could only cry in the monitor room. He was really disappointed and scolded Salman with pretty harsh words. He swore he would kill the man if he met him again.
