Regrets After the Farewell

Regrets After the Farewell
Chapter 35.

Without feeling it had been seven years more Salman left everything he had, even leaving a love that he had not been able to express to Safia.

Even so, Salman is quite happy to live alone despite having to live a simple life on the opposite island.

Yes, after seven years of disappearing, Salman now looks a little older. Her hair was starting to turn white and her face was no longer as handsome as it used to be.

How not, the remaining days only he spent being a mechanic in a workshop. Salman really started his life from scratch without bringing in a penny of the money he had.

At least he can still eat breakfast and evening with the results of his own sweat. He is no longer like the old Salman, his pride is gone to the earth.

He even took the time to come to an orphanage, spending time there with disadvantaged children. That way he could remember how hard Safia struggled when she had to live in an orphanage.

"Salman, this is a letter to you" said a man who was none other than the owner of the workshop where he worked.

"What is this letter, Bang?" salman asked frowning.

"Open it!" the man replied with a small smile.

The curious Salman immediately took the white envelope out of his boss' hands and opened it slowly.

Salman narrowed his eyes and began to read the inscription engraved there.

"Replacement?" sizzle Salman in an almost inaudible voice.

"Yes, since for seven years your performance has been very good, then I recommend you to the central workshop. You take it easy, there you will get a bigger salary. It was not an ordinary workshop, but a car. You're trusted to be a mechanic there." explained the man.

"But Bang"

Salman seemed hesitant to accept the boss' offer. It is not without reason that Salman wants to reject him, he does not want to return to the capital, he does not want to meet with Safia again, he has promised never to interfere with his life again.

"That's it, don't think much! This is a good opportunity, I have also prepared departure tickets for you, tomorrow morning you will fly to the capital, you just have to prepare yourself. There is no point in avoiding reality. Life must go on, no matter how bitter the past may come back to you." hoses the man. He also gave her a brown envelope and the ticket she had bought.

Inevitably, Salman was forced to pick up the envelope and ticket that the man had handed him. True said his boss, life must continue even though the bitter reality comes back to haunt his life.

However, he himself no longer expected Safia. He believes Safia is happy with her life, it is possible that Safia has remarried after their status was declared legally separated.

"Well, I'll leave tomorrow." nod Salman, he left the workshop after getting permission. He needs to get ready before tomorrow comes.

In a small contract that he had occupied so far, Salman was stunned on the porch of the house after finishing cleaning the items he would bring.

Salman doesn't know if he can get through this or not. He tried hard to forget Safia, but now fate would bring him back to the city.

Salman can only hope that he will never meet Safia. That way their relationship will continue as it should.

Salman did not want to spoil Safia's happiness with his presence. Let Safia continue to live without knowing where she is.

...****************...

At one noon a plane landed freely at Soekarno-Hatta International airport, Salman inhaled as much air as possible shortly after setting foot in his hometown.

Seven years passed, no noticeable changes. Everything still looks the same as the last time I decided to leave the city.

After picking up his suitcase, Salman stopped a taxi that would take him to the address he was heading to. It just so happened that he got a house and motor facility for transportation.

As he was about to enter a taxi, Salman's steps suddenly came to a halt when his body hit a small child. The boy fell silent in fear, apologizing while bowing his head. "Sorry, Uncle."

Salman, who had been focused on looking at the boy, was immediately aghast when he heard a familiar voice in the ear. He turned his neck and how surprised he was when he caught Safia who was standing not far from him.

Salman's chest suddenly tightened, his heart racing as the pulse seemed to stop beating instantly. Likewise with Safia who suddenly tremble stare at Salman with eyes bulging.

Who would have thought that they would meet so soon. After seven more years, the two met again in this kind of situation.

Salman is not ready to meet Safia, a lot of injuries that he has inflicted so to look into Safia's eyes it feels unable.

Salman quickly cast his eyes off. He looked at the boy and rubbed his head. "It's okay, Uncle who was wrong for walking in a hurry" Salman replied to the boy, then continued the steps that had stalled.

Salman quickly entered the waiting taxi, he did not want to talk to Safia even just mince words, his tongue suddenly heavy to move.

"Mas Salman," Safia cheered, but her efforts bore no fruit at all. The taxi drove off after Salman urged the driver to leave.

After the taxi disappeared, Safia was stunned with a clouded look. There was so much she wanted to tell her ex-husband, but Salman avoided her.

"Ma..." Safia regained her senses as the little boy's hand clasped her hand. Safia crouched down and hugged her son tightly.

Yes, it turned out that the boy was the son that Safia had born about six years ago. Safia was pregnant when Salman left her and received the divorce papers Anton had given her.

At that time Safia was really hit, she had dropped and had to be hospitalized.

During the pregnancy process, Safia just lay weak on the mattress, repeatedly she was in and out of the hospital because of her very weak condition.

After giving birth to a son named Saka, Safia's condition gradually improved, she had surgery a few months after that.

Safia has now been declared cured of her illness. All of that thanks to the presence of Saka who is able to be an encouragement in life.

Safia is back as a doctor, but this time she is no longer serving in the old hospital, but the hospital owned by Salman who has now turned into hers.

"Come, let's just go home!" take Safia while pulling Saka's hand towards the car. He who had wanted to wait for Alex, immediately changed his mind after seeing Salman just now.

Safia did not know whether to be happy or sad about this reality.

Yes, he was happy after learning that Salman was fine, but he was also sad that Salman preferred to shy away from him.

Has Salman never thought of himself? Has Salman really forgotten him?

Or, has Salman returned to his beloved? Are they both married?

The questions suddenly appeared in Safia's mind. He looked agitated while holding Saka on top of the thigh.

If Salman had known that the boy he saw was his son, would Salman still have avoided him?

Wouldn't Salman be happy to know that there is flesh between them? Safia was really agitated given that, she could not even forget Salman until this very second.

It turned out that the separation was unable to make Safia happy. He was even more injured when Salman was no longer by his side.

Yeah, maybe Safia looks like a stupid woman. He cannot hate Salman even though he is desperate to do so.

Every time he looked at his son's deep face, that longing suddenly appeared gnawing at his heart.
