"Denny, are you okay?"
"He's okay" Trevor grumbled, while Grace checked the wet child for any injuries or fractures.
Trevor checked in first, and he was sure that he had more medical training than Grace.
"He fell into the river while crossing the log. They're pretty lucky" Trevor added.
"Do you know how easily this turns into tragedy? I woke up from my deep sleep thinking that a dangerous intruder had entered my house. They both broke into my house. Really stupid, considering what my job is. The people who infiltrate into my place while I sleep usually don't come out alive." he glared at them.
"Did you hear that?" grace said to the twins angrily.
"Kids, he could've killed you. You can't just break into people's houses. Especially house. Now apologize!"
Trevor rolled his eyeballs, and instead of saying a simple word like, "I'm sorry," the two clever boys cried instead.
They were showing sad scenes, sobbing, shaking chins, with tears streaming down.
And to the annoyance of Lord Trevorn, their actions were powerful enough to attract Grace's sympathy.
"Don't cry" Grace said gently to them, stroking their hair, and cupping their piercing cheeks.
"Look, it's all done. The most important thing now is, no one gets hurt."
When Grace hugged them, Trevor couldn't take it anymore.
"Miss Kenwood, that's right!"
"What's? What's wrong with you?"
From behind Grace, the two little demons smiled proudly to Trevor as Grace turned around.
"Don't raise them!" trevor was upset.
"They're playing you! Can't you see it?"
Grace seemed emotional to hear Trevor's accusations against her little angels and immediately acted like a mother who was angry for defending her child.
"They're just kids!"
"They're a pair of little demons" Trevor grumbled. Then tapped at the corner of his eyes and pointed towards the children.
The child who was not soaked, who pelted Trevor with a stone, stuck out his tongue at Trevor from behind Grace.
Trevor narrowed his eyes in response to the boy's response.
"Who are their parents? They won't tell me, but I really intend to talk to their father about their overdue attitude."
Grace gave Trevor a warning look and embraced the arms of the two children.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it. They won't bother you anymore."
"It's better that way, or I'll find a vicious guard dog and tell him to eat them next time."
"That's enough, My Lord. You've already explained your point. You're scaring them."
"Making them afraid? They are the ones who scare me! That one almost drowned right in front of my eyes. If you can control these two wands, keep them away from my property. I bought this place to find peace and quiet. These boys are not my problem. I won't take responsibility if they infiltrate here again and get themselves killed!"
"alright. Children, apologize to Lord Trevor. Now." Now." Grace moved their arms and pulled them forward.
"Come on! Apologize to our great hero because you have disturbed his precious peace and tranquility" Grace grumbled.
Trevor glared at her, and Grace glared back at the man.
The two children muttered, "Sorry."
"So much better. Goodbye, Lord Trevor. I'll make sure and get everyone away from you. We won't bother you anymore. Welcome to Thistleton," Grace added in a reprimanding tone.
Then he turned the two boys over and began to walk back to his house, holding his hands on the twins' shoulders.
Trevor stared at Grace's departure in annoyance, puzzling himself how he could be the bad guy in this.
"Whoever the children's parents are, they better not keep cats, let alone small children!" he shouted from behind, still unwilling to end this matter.
Hearing that, Grace immediately stopped walking. For a moment, the woman stood motionless, turning her back to Trevor.
