My Notorious Gentleman's

My Notorious Gentleman's
#28

Four-year-old Bitsy Nelcott seemed happy that Miss Grace would listen to her story, but perhaps she would be just as happy to tell herself about the duck swimming in the river, or at least the cat.

Grace was amused to see the little girl, forgetting her sadness about her little carrots, not so big peas, and rotten radishes.

Even plants that usually grow well in cold weather can not develop properly.

Grace sighed. It wasn't that he had control over all of it, so why bother messing around with it? As Papa said, they all just need to feel confident.

Bitsy keeps on raving. After wagging his messy brown shirt and full of cat fur, he circled and danced on the sun-warmed stone tiles next to Grace's garden.

"She swam with her five children, but the boat passed, and I was so scared! I thought they were gonna get run over!"

"Oh, no!" exclaim Grace.

"Did they make it out of the river in time?"

"Yes! The mother duck kept swimming, pushing her children with her mouth. Like this!" Bitsy demonstrated her movements, nodding her head, her hands bent at the side like wings.

Grace closed her lips so as not to laugh at the extremely serious performance.

Then Bitsy stopped and looked at Grace with her big, frightened eyes.

"They don't even have a father to help them" Bitsy explained.

Grace paused for a moment from her gardening activities sadly.

"Why don't they have one?" ask Grace gently.

"What happened to their father?"

Bitsy looked at Grace sadly.

"He flew away from them."

Grace's eyes were almost flooded with tears.

"But those baby ducks are at least safe. Their mother took good care of them" Grace assured the boy who was also an orphan as a result of the war.

Bitsy just shrugged her shoulders, and swirled around again, but at least the girl was used to the fact that her father would never come home.

Rot you in hell, Colonel Avery, thought Grace.

"Where are your brothers today?" tanyakanya.

"It's adventurous."

"Again?" exclaim Grace.

The nine-year-old twins, Kenny and Denny Nelcott, are adventuring around the farm like a pair of wayward fox cubs, and when they're not in trouble, they're going to prank everyone else.

They are noisy and active like boys in general, but Grace is starting to pollute them now, as they have no father either.

"Do you know where they're going today?" grace asked while plucking the grass, but Bitsy did not seem to listen.

"Look!" bitsy exclaimed, her fat finger pointing towards the entrance.

"Some one's coming!"

Oh, it seems that it was the one who came.

Grae stood beside her plant and pulled her gardening gloves back, then turned to find Miss Calpurnia Windlesham walking down a tree-lined path in her small horse-drawn carriage at high speed.

Grace giggled to herself. What else now?

Perhaps Calpurnia had heard of George. Which is most likely the case, considering there has been no sign of Lord Trevor Montgomery since the Feast of the Lievedon family two weeks ago. He was not very interested in Grange or Thistleton.

Or me.

If Lord Trevor was interested, they would have heard from the man by now.

Perhaps Grace was too sensitive when it came to the duke's son, the man who had made her the object of the man's kiss that could be said to be quite rude, then considered it a 'diversion', a man who had made her the object of the man's kiss that could be said to be quite rude, then considered it as a 'diversion', whether it's fun or not.

That's why for several days Grace put her best effort into keeping the man out of her mind.

As for Grange, if you think about it, the man might just try to be polite by showing a little interest in coming from London to the place.

Meanwhile, Grace had even thought of matching the man with Calpurnia, like mothers who like to interfere in the affairs of their children.

No doubt Callie will end up with George. That is how it looks. The two of them have been friends and enemies since they were children, and after adulthood they become a matching couple, both stubborn and equally spoiled.

They understand each other's safu, even some people will say that they deserve each other. Yeah, it seems like it is.

Geore and Callie must have made up.

Ridiculous that Grace was planning another soul mate for the lady, of course this small Thistleton village would never be able to embrace someone as big and brave as Lord Trevor Montgomery, who had a soul, a mysterious and dangerous adventurer who lurks beautiful women with blond hair.

A man like Lord Trevor was a legend, at least so in Grace's eyes, while bThistleton was nothing more than an ordinary village. The man would die of boredom if he stayed here.

"Grace!" With golden hair swaying under a wide hat, Callurnia pulled her horse's harness to stop just outside the yard and jumped down from the carriage, more like a Greek warrior than a debutant.

"Grace, Grace, Grace!"

"Here, honey!" Grace waved towards the girl from the garden beside her.
