"Mr Haykal, there's Mr. Hanif. He wants to meet!"
"Where's he? Why don't you let me in?" haykal said, Fandy looked back. Haykal nodded in understanding, he immediately stood up Hanif.
Haykal walked towards the living room of his house. Haykal did not understand the meaning of Hanif's arrival. But something that surprised him, not the arrival of Hanif to his house. But Hanif who knows the address of his new home. The house that was purposely built, to live happily with Kanaya. The house Haykal built, right after his religious wedding with Kanaya. The house she prepared, for Kanaya the perfect woman of her heart choice. All hope and happiness are over. When Haykal had to go and bury his happy dream with Kanaya.
Hanif who accidentally came to Haykal's house. Not without reason, he had come to seek the truth of a letter Hanif had just discovered. A paper full of tears. The letter whose paper looks shabby and the writing is a little fuzzy. The date indicated, indicates the letter was written five years ago. A letter that harbors the truth and guilt of a grandfather.
"Mr Hanif, please sit down!" haykal said kindly, when he saw Hanif standing by.
Hanif stood staring at such a large family photo. A photo that holds the warmth of Haykal's extended family. Haykal's wedding photo with Kanaya is immortalized in a paper. Dewun and Abra stood side by side. Arya and Iman sat in the middle, flanked by Fitri and Afifa. Kanaya and Haykal stand behind Arya and Iman. Hanna and Rafan are on the other side. Everyone looks happy, in one beautiful picture. Large photo that immediately greeted the guests. Just below him, there were some photos of the Kanaya extended family. A warm smile that is clearly visible in a beautifully framed photo.
"Beautiful!" said Hanif lirih, while holding a small photo frame. Hanif looked at the smiling face in the photo. Haykal lowered his head, understanding the direction Hanif said. A smile was seen on Hanif's face, there was extreme pain. When she realized, there was no part of her sweet memories five years ago.
"She's not only beautiful, but her smile is the reason for my calmness!" sahut Haykal, Hanif nodded his head in agreement. Slowly Hanif put back the picture frame on the table. Hanif twisted his body, he stared at Haykal's nanar. There are several photos on the wall of Haykal's mansion. Not one or two, almost every wall stuck to Kanaya's photo with her sweet smile.
"Lantas, why did you break your calm?" said Hanif, Haykal was silent. Hanif realized the meaning of Haykal's silence.
Hanif sat on the big long sofa in Haykal's living room. Haykal's luxurious mansion. Wedding gifts prepared for Kanaya. Even the home certificate is not in Haykal's name, but on Kanaya's behalf. The house that will only belong to Kanaya and only Kanaya will be the queen in this magnificent house.
"Why are you quiet Haykal? Tonight, I didn't come as your business partner. I came as an uncle. The younger brother of Kanaya's biological mother, the uncle who was supposed to look after his nephew long ago. But the truth is, I have a chance to look after Kanaya. When all has been destroyed and wounded!"
"I'm sorry Haykal, sorry!" haykal said softly, Hanif shook his head weakly. Hanif gave a letter that he accidentally found. A letter tucked between memories of a father figure he never considered. A letter that made him understand the reason for Haykal's departure. Destroying the heart of Kanaya who loved her back then.
"That's how much you love Kanaya. Until you can destroy yourself for the sanctity of Kanaya!"
"I mean Mr. Hanif!"
"Call me Hanif, I'm not much different from you. It's just that my status is higher. But right now, I'm Kanaya's uncle but a friend to you!" hanif said, Haykal looked up at Hanif. Haykal glanced towards the shabby letter Hanif had given him. Haykal opened the envelope that held the guilt and apology of Faith. The father who was so dear to the Dew, left forever carrying so much guilt. Haykal read the written word for word. Every word that aggravates the guilt of a grandfather. Beautiful handwriting, saving such great love for his granddaughter.
"Haykal, I found out the reason for your departure five years ago. A journey based on a sacred love and sacrifice of relationship with Kanaya. Whatever the reason for your departure? Why did you choose to leave without telling them everything?" hanif said, shortly after seeing Haykal close the letter from him. Haykal sighed, a burden as if lifted off his shoulders. Perhaps on the contrary, a secret will make him uneasy.
"Why is this letter on you? After all, not everything is right. Even though Grandfather Iman did all this. But he's not entirely wrong!"
"If it's not the wrong papa, now tell me the truth!" said Hanif Lirih, Hanif's calmness makes Haykal mute. There was no reason Haykal kept this secret, but saying it would only expose old wounds.
"Something that is already buried, it is better to stay buried. It is not appropriate for us to dig it, if in fact it will only leave an unpleasant smell!" said Haykal, Hanif smiled knotingly.
"What do you want to know?"
"The reason you're obeying papa's stupid request. A wish that makes Kanaya's life come to an end. A stupid request that eventually made papa sick and went away with his guilt. I want to hear your stupid excuse, the husband who let go of his wife at her grandfather's request. The one who supported this marriage, but he also destroyed it!" said Hanif loudly and firmly, Haykal was silent.
"Just at night one muharram, my grandfather and I met at the city mosque. We want to spend the night of the Islamic new year by worshiping together. Since I married Kanaya. I feel such a perfect life. I have a papa who always teaches me business, a mother who dutifully said he, a brother who embraces like a sibling, my sister-in-law supported me with silence and two grandfathers who always taught me about kindness and how to be a good husband. Especially Grandfather Iman who always took his time for me and considered me like a real son!"
"I know that, because papa's biological son never admitted it. The stupidity that now makes me regret for a lifetime!" sahut Hanif, Haykal's down. There is an anxiety implied by Haykal. Seen from both hands Haykal who continued to hold each other.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. My relationship with Grandfather Iman is very close. The relationship that finally made me feel comfortable and calm. Maybe it was a big folly, when I left Kanaya. Release the status of the wife attached to him. But not for a second did I let go of my love for Kanaya. Only one name is in my prayer and prostration. Kanaya my strong reason for surviving and returning after five years of living in a state of turmoil. Kanaya is the only reason for my happiness, but seeing her coldness. I no longer wish for a better relationship with him. At least a helping hand, made me still be able to look at him and hear the voice I always missed!"
"Say, why did you agree to papa's request?"
"It was not a request, but an understanding of the mistake I had accidentally made. Napsu has Kanaya, making me blind and deaf. Kanaya is worthy of being a wife. Forgetting the laws in a marriage. I'm the one at fault in this marriage, not my mom or dad who accepted my proposal. Therefore boldly, I sincerely disintegrate in unattached love!" said Haykal, Hanif silently looked at Haykal. Waiting for the core answer to the question.
"On the night of the one muharram, I found an astonishing fact. A truth, if I've been toying with marriage. I'm not the priest who brought Kanaya to good. But the lust of my love, has plunged Kanaya into a great sin. Durhaka to the husband who legally becomes the priest of his hereafter. Kanaya's rejection of her time for me was a big reason Kanaya had disobeyed me. Although I never thought of it as a bad attitude. Yet our religion has regarded the ungodly Kanaya as a wife. A big reason that made me realize my mistake. The decision to marry Kanaya made me have her love. But my love is the reason for the great sin that Kanaya must endure!"
"Your reasons don't make sense!" sahut Hanif's.
"I don't expect any trust or apology from Kanaya. But I assure you, this is a sacrifice I can make for Kanaya. Release Kanaya from her heavy duty as a wife. To keep Kanaya from the unseen and unintentional sin Kanaya committed. Although I finally have to live in a longing that leaves me with nothing every second!" Haykal.
"Then, what do you expect now? Kanaya has died by your decision. I forgot how to smile. I can't even cry. All because of your unilateral decision for no reason. If only you had told me the reason. I won't hate you, as much as I did when I realized I loved you!" kanaya said with a sobbing voice.
"Kanaya!" haykal said in disbelief.
"You're cruel, kill me without stabbing me. Your love makes me happy, it's your love that breaks me. Life is full of my colors, in an instant you turn it off with your departure!"
"Kanaya, I'm sorry!" haykal said, kneeling right in front of Kanaya. His hands tightly clasped Kanaya's hands.
"Why do I love you so much? Why?" kanaya shouted hysterically, Kanaya's voice echoed throughout the entire house.
"I'm sorry!"
"Stay away from me, never come near me again!" kanaya said, while pressing her chest that hurt. Kanaya pushes Haykal's body, Kanaya runs out of Haykal's house.
"Kanaya, I'm sorry!" yelled Haykal, when he saw Kanaya running away.
