Chapter 77: The Traitor

All the staff working in the command room were shocked to see Mavin suddenly arriving there. The commander panicked, irregular breathing, and a slight cold sweat drenched his forehead. Behind Mavin, Harnan had just arrived following him, entering the command room.

“Commonly connect communication with Team Aravan071! It's an emergency!” mavin's orders were firm when he arrived at the central desk of the command room.

Some staff immediately did as Mavin instructed through each of their computers. However, one of the staff delivered the news not wearing.

“Sorry, Commander. We tried several times to connect communication with Team Aravan071. But it did not succeed due to distance constraints and the absence of signal intermediary technology.”

Mavin rubbed his face rough. They could not contact the team at all, even though it was an emergency situation. They will also not get any news from the team, making Mavin more worried.

“Sialan...”.

If this is the case, only prayer can help the team. Mavin just wishes, I hope they're safe.

The bodies of Lavisto and Irawan were just discovered by the Edrick Group in one of the data storage rooms. Their bodies were stiffened, with no pulse at all. The armour they were wearing was broken, even their helmets had come off.

“True as expected.” Bery. “They die like Vice Wirma Group, even both die first.”

“There is no sort of data flash or anything that they deliberately remove from the system storage?” ask Astan seriously. “I wonder. All we found were the bodies of those two. Where's Tenma?”

Edrick and Bery only realized that the existence of Tenma was not found near Lavisto and Irawan. Did that fellow survive or die somewhere else?

Just as they were thinking about that awkwardness, someone had just walked out of a room near the storage room. The man was wearing the same armor as them. Of course he is their teammate.

The three breathed a sigh of relief when they realized that the person was Tenma still alive. Thankfully, he survived and did not die with his two colleagues.

“Tenma, are you alive?” ask Bery glad.

Tenma did not answer. What happened next was very unexpected.

Tenma's figure shot rapidly towards Bery, throwing his body out of the storage room so violently that it smashed the wall, breaking through to the other room.

“Tenma, what is—.”

Not yet had Edrick to speak, Tenma shot again towards Bery thrown, through the destroyed wall.

“What happened here?!” jerit Astan can't believe it.

“We have to catch up with them!”

Astan and Edrick came out of the storage room. They had time to check the large hole of the wall that was destroyed by Tenma using Bery's body throw. Apparently, the wall is connected to the ceiling of a command room. The command room looks very spacious, the lighting is also stable indicating that the Core Ship energy is channeled to the maximum there.

“I get confused with the architectural design of this ship,” Astan replied spontaneously.

“Bery!”

Both were shocked to see Bery was killed instantly on the bluish floor with his stomach crushed by being stomped so hard, even his very strong armor could not withstand the fatal attack.

Edrick and Astan immediately jump into the room, landing right next to Bery's dead body. Again, they were made to not believe what they had just seen. The existence of Tenma who was still alive had almost made them relieved. But unexpectedly, his own team-mates to do this cruel.

Killing his own comrades in a very horrible way.

Edrick's kind of mentally disturbed. He is the leader of this team, responsible for everything that happens to his colleagues. The death that made all his team members die was devastating. Plus, one of their teams was even acting this bad.

Astan noticed Edrick's stiff posture. Although blocked by the helmet, Astan can understand that the chairman feels very devastated by what is happening now. Despite several times trying to withstand the shock during the mission on this cursed ship in order to stay focused, still the guilt and fear continue to haunt.

In this silent situation inside a command room, Astan could feel the presence of someone far behind them. Astan turned his head, turning his back when he realized something was darting towards Edrick.

“Edrick! Watch out!”

Due to too many negative thoughts, Edrick became unfocused, unaware that there was an impromptu attack. Luckily Astan was quick to protect the chairman, took out the assault rifle from the system storage, hit the darting object that was the chunk of the machine back to the origin using the rifle.

From a distance, it was almost the lesion of the machine hit the thrower if only he was not agile to avoid it.

“Ergh! What are you doing, Tenma?! Why did you dare to kill Bery, your own partner?! You also want to kill the Chairman?!”

While shouting loudly, Astan only realized all the irregularities that occurred during their separation. Tenma dares to kill Bery, which means there is a possibility that Tenma is also involved in the death of her comrades.

Astan pointed the muzzle of his rifle at Tenma who was still standing at a distance, asking in a calm but intimidating tone of voice, “Say, you killed your teammates and the Wirma Vice Group, right?”

Edrick looked at Astan in disbelief. This fellow suddenly recklessly accused his own comrade of being a murderer.

“Astan—.”

Astan raised one hand in front of Edrick, asking the chairman to be quiet. “You need to calm your mind first, Chief. The death of our comrades is enough to take you down. Try a little more to focus. People like him have to face with a cold mind.”

Behind the helmet, Astan's two heterochrome eyes narrowed even more when he noticed Tenma's figure. “I also don't want to recklessly slander people, it's not my style. But when I saw Bery being killed that quickly, I assumed that you were most likely the one who killed the other team-mates, Tenma.”

Still standing far ahead of them, Tenma crossed paths quietly as if what he had been through here was not something to be questioned.

“If you do, you want to kill me too?”

Astan's teeth were grinding, but his emotions were still trying to hold him back. What Tenma did was already beyond bounds, inhumane. So what was the purpose of killing them all? Why did he join the mission if the edges only finish off team mates?

“What do you think, Tenma? What's your purpose in killing them all? You won't get anything after killing them.”

“You are wrong.”

Astan and Edrick shut up, trying to listen to what Tenma was going to say.

“The decision to split up is very good, Chairman Edrick,” Tenma said. “So that it can make it easier for me to finish off people who will most likely corner me. And in that way I also get something interesting.”

Two small objects appeared in Tenma's hands after being removed from the system storage. Astan and Edrick were shocked. Both objects are flash belongs to the Wirma Group and Tenma itself.

“This is enough to cancel the BioEmerald trial. But, my real goal is not this.”

Tenma again saved the two disks to the system storage. One hand stretched out, asking for something from the two of them.

“Deliver System Chip Re:Set to me.”
