AutoTerra: Operating Systems
Chapter 38: The Meeting

“Three years ago, we found it bobbing inside a Lifepod Capsule near our ship.”

Noah took a breath before continuing, “When his Lifepod was taken to the ship and he was also removed from there, Astan looked terrible. He was unconscious with severe injuries everywhere, his clothes were in shreds, his head was bleeding, and his left eye was badly injured. He was conscious. But hysterical is not funny when you see many humans.”

“We immediately took her to the Medical Deck. The doctor who examined him said that Astan had very severe injuries all over the body, several broken bones, multiple collisions in the head, and his left eye almost blindness.”

“At first, we intend to ask her what really happened to her before arriving on our ship. However, doctors did not recommend because Astan suffered severe trauma, plus the impact wound on his head also aggravated his condition. It is increasingly difficult for us to know the events that happened to Astan.”

From that story alone has made Mavin sad. He believes that Astan, who is now a hunter, is the Ash they were looking for after the incident on Feron 072. And about the severe injuries that Astan got must have been due to the incident na’as on the damned ship.

Harnan also spoke a thousand languages, hardly believing Noah's story. What Astan experienced must have been something very heavy.

Mavin again asked, “Do you know what really happened to Astan before he got to this ship?”

Noah shook his head. “Until now we have absolutely no idea. We did not dare to ask this matter to Astan directly for fear of trauma and headache. But, maybe this one guy knows very well about what really happened to Astan in the past.”

Mavin was grateful in his heart. At least there is still hope for him to know the bright spot of the mystery that happened to Astan.

“Who knows it?”

For a moment Noah tried to remember who the person closest to Astan was. It was hard for him to remember every single person on this ship who was quite a number.

“Suda. Suda Siragan -”

...~*~*~*~...

In one of the cabins, the figure of Suda had just finished changing his clothes after bathing. He whistled merrily while tidying up some of the items scattered in his cabin. He is happy today to take a day off after working hard as an engine technician.

Due to the economic problems throughout the ship and also the depletion of energy from the Crystal Core to support the performance of the ship, making Suda and other technicians have extra work. Thankfully, from today on he can feel what it's like to have a holiday without struggling with the machines again.

“Aaah…. It's a pleasure today. Drink coffee while watching comedy on tv like cool, deh.”

Just as Suda was about to walk towards the kitchen, suddenly his cabin doorbell rang, indicating that there were guests visiting.

“Shortly..!” Suda muttered, “Who came here? Did anyone ask for help to fix the machine again? I ‘kan on leave.”

Suda hurriedly walked towards the door, then opened it. The man in black was confused to see two strangers in plain clothes standing at his door with the vice-chairman of the Guild.

“Jura— Uh!”

Suda almost called it wrong. The nickname really sounded very fitting for Noah. As a result, some people all over the space ship almost called him by that ridiculous nickname.

“Vice Chairman, how can I help you? Engine bow is broken again?” ask Suda as decently as possible.

Noah smiled faintly. “Not. There are two people who want to meet you. He said, there is something very important to ask.”

“They both?”

The two men were in a daze, making sure the corridor around the cabin was quiet no one passed. One of them showed me an identification card. Suda was shocked to find out.

“Ka-you..?”

Mavin gave a friendly smile. “Sorry to interrupt your break time. We're from Ribelo's Orbit Force. Do you have time to discuss something very important to us, Mr Siragan?”

This guy knows the Suda clan, Noah must have told him. But, what was the reason the two people from one of these military agencies wanted to meet him? What do they want to talk about?

Suda was nervous to death. He was afraid that there was the worst thing that made them come here looking for him.

...~*~*~*~...

“Aaaaa..”.

Astan sat leaning on the sofa with his head held up. The television that had been on for a long time did not attract his attention at all. In fact, the television show is currently airing his favorite Engkong Sutris sitcom. But, there were all sorts of thoughts that just kept shadowing him.

The two heterochrome eyes stared at the ceiling, trying to guess something that disturbed Astan's mind. The groaning grew clearer and clearer, as if forcing him to return soon.

“Please, return…! I need you...!”

But, where? Astan himself does not know where to go? The only place he knew was this spacecraft and the Darzia Natural Satellite, it was impossible that the place in question was his home planet. He has been moving planets since childhood.

“What is this...?” confused muttering.

His daydreams were immediately broken when he heard the doorbell ringing. Spontaneous Astan upheld the sitting position, looking confusedly towards the door.

“Who is coming? Suda or Arni?”

He started walking to open the door.

“Don't tell that ludicrous Grim.” Astan walked while scratching his head. “I'd rather meet the vice-chairman of the Guild continue to be told all kinds than meet with Grim— Eh?”

Apparently, God granted her prayers so soon. Atan was just talking.

“Fish Farm, what are you doing here?”

Astan called Noah ridiculous as it was so relaxed, no matter if the summoned almost gave off killing auras.

Search dead like this Astan.

But because there was something Noah wanted to say, then he preferred to let Astan call the nickname at will.

Just watch out later. If this business ‘dah klar, will hang Astan's ass on the wall of the lobby so that the hunters know not to carelessly call it ‘Juragan Ikan’, thought Noah.

“Are you currently busy?” ask Noah as soon as possible.

“No. Right now I'm not busy anything.”

“Then, can you come with me? There's someone who wants to meet you.”

“Someone?”

Astan looked at Noah suspiciously. There was not usually anyone else who wanted to meet him through Noah. On this ship, Astan was only familiar with Arni, Suda, and Grim who recently tried to greet him with good neighborly reasons.

If Noah gets to pick him up, then the person who wants to meet with Astan is an important figure. But, who? As Astan recalled, he had absolutely no contact with important people during his life.

“Who?”

“Later too you will know when you meet him.”

If this was a direct order from the vice-chairman of the Guild, Astan agreed to Noah's invitation. Toh Noah was the most trusted person in the entire Guild as well as on this ship. There was no way Noah was going to trap or do something like that that made Astan lose.

Atan locked the cabin door using a passcode, they both began to walk through the corridor.

Astan just quietly followed Noah from behind, there was absolutely no intention to make any pleasantries because the two of them had no intimate relationship. During the trip he had time to think, maybe Noah called him because he wanted to meet one of the three annoying hunters who had problems with Grim in the previous mission to discuss the problem of grabbing the Bonus Score.

If it is true to be met with them, Astan is ready to be born inner pinned their head until it penetrates the brain.

….

“Come.”

Noah lets Astan into a small room where there are only two chairs facing each other that are separated by one table. This room looks like an interrogation room.

What was Astan brought here for? It's not that Noah said he'd be reunited with someone who was looking for him.

“Hei, why—.”

Suddenly the bright lights of the room died, replaced by the only illumination of a small lamp hanging on the table whose lighting itself was rather dim.

“What the hell is this, Noah?” ask Astan annoyed. “Sok-sok’an made such horror. Want to be reunited with what dedemit?”

“Sit down first.”

Although his feelings began to be irritated, Astan just followed Noah's orders. He sat in one of the chairs facing the door.

Seeing Astan following his orders, Noah smiled. “Good. Now, treat it well with the person.”

Noah came out, closed the door. When the door was closed, it was unexpected that there was someone who had been standing alone on the wall, long enough to hide behind the door.

“Waduh.”

Spontaneous Astan jumped in shock. Unexpectedly, there was already a shadow of people playing secretly behind the door.

“Thank you for meeting me.”

At first the figure only looked like a shadow because of the darkness of the room. When he walked slowly to the table, it began to appear clearly flat face under the flush chandelier.

His flat face began to singe a smile that Astan did not understand at all.

“Happy to see you again, Ash..”.

Astan was stunned in disbelief.

How could this person whom he did not know at all know his little calling?
