Chapter 62: Monster Attack 3

“Daren!!”

Sadin ran towards the edge of the bridge. His eyes were horrified to see the figure of Daren had vanished, falling to the bottom of the Core Ship engine that shone orange due to the heating of the engine had been activated. He couldn't imagine what happened to Daren's body there.

The dead fell to the bottom of the hot machine with the bunch of leeches constantly clinging to gnawing on one's body. Anyone refuses to die that way.

“Ma-sorry, Daren..” Sadin looked down, both hands clenched tightly until they shook themselves. “May you calm down on God's side.”

Sadin's view turned to the Barkata troupe, seeing more and more popping out of every hole of the wall. Behind him were some Leechesta monsters trying to reach Sadin.

Trying to contain his emotions and sadness, Sadin ran forward, picking up Daren's Crystal Core lying on the floor.

“Salahku himself hastily acted,” hiss Sadin on himself. “Invisible!”

[Invisible Type-3: Active]

Sadin's whole body was gone. The Barkata were confused because they felt no signs of Sadin's presence anymore.

If Sadin had only activated Invisible Type-1, a Barkata-like monster could still feel its presence through vibration and temperature, that level of Invisible Ability could only remove the user's body from the view of other creatures, but its existence can still be felt and touched.

But with the third advanced level, Sadin can eliminate his entire body, his existence can not be known through any type of senses, even his body is able to penetrate other objects such as ghosts.

Since then, Zered has been trying to protect Sadin and Daren from Barkata attacks. But about Leechesta, he did not dare to shoot because it risked spouting a lot of leeches everywhere.

Zered is also saddened by Daren's death on their mission. If only he or any of the other soldiers could have given Daren an early warning not to shoot Leechesta, Daren would not have ended up like this. What power, all the soldiers were troubled by their respective duties, to the point of barely paying attention to their comrades who were in trouble.

With a heavy heart, Zered conveyed the news through communication on the helmet, “Sorry. Daren has fallen.”

All the soldiers gasped at the news, even Astan who was still shooting with Tenma in the middle of the bridge was also shocked. Only, Astan's expression returned flat and focused on shooting the Barkata troupe again.

Astan knows this is sad news. But this is not the time to be sad.

Edrick's two hands clenched his rifle as he tried to help his comrades shoot the Barkata monsters.

Once again one soldier has died. If the situation is this heavy, it is not surprising that many personnel of the previous military team died on this ship.

“Daren died..?” Bery who heard the news started to have an uncomfortable expression. “Then, how about Sadin? He's alone on the left bridge!”

“Sa—.”

“I'm fine. Don't think about my fate.”

Edrick's speech was cut off when he heard Sadin's voice from the communications inside the helmet. He's relieved Sadin's okay.

On the left bridge, Sadin attempts to break through a herd of Barkata and some Leechesta with Invisible Abilities. Any monsters did not feel its existence at all, they focused on running towards the control room.

“Then, where are you? I didn't see you on the left bridge?” zered asked the communications helmet as his eyes searched for Sadin's whereabouts through the rifle telescope.

Still running through the monsters, Sadin replied, “I used Invisible Ability. So, don't think about my fate. I'll soon attach the Crystal Core to Room B, and so on to Room C.”

“Are you sure you can do it yourself?” ask Edrick. “One soldier will come to help you.”

“Do not worry. It is precisely very impossible to send soldiers to the path here. The bridge was overcrowded with monsters, and they were all now focused on storming the control room. You need to be more careful.”

Edrick moved from the side of the control room area right to the left, Bery and Lavisto were overwhelmed by shooting hordes of monsters, even Bery had begun to fatigue activate Shield in front of the iron wall.

Sadin's right. The number of monsters on the left was seen to be increasing as there was no holding back. Daren is dead, Sadin uses his disappearing abilities to keep the monsters out of the way and focuses on the installation of the Crystal Core. While on the right the number is not as much as on the left because there are Astan and Tenma still stuck in the middle of the bridge.

Edrick goes down the stairs of the control room, helping Bery and Lavisto shoot monsters from behind the iron wall.

“Chairman..?” bery sounded a bit lethargic when he saw Edrick.

“You rest for a moment, just open the shield.”

“A-what? But, Chair—.”

“You've been working hard, let me replace you until another soldier gives word on the generator access permit to the Ship Core engine. I'll also use the Ability Program to finish them off.”

This can't be allowed. Bery did not want the chairman to spend much of his energy on helping them and using the Ability Program again. At one time, the Capability Program was far more energy-consuming than the General Capability.

Bery will be back to help. Therefore, through the command of his mind appeared a syringe in the armour, injecting energy recovery fluid on his wrist. Now Bery is back in shape and ready to help fight.

“Chairman, I—.”

“No! Even if you use an energy restorer, you still need to rest really.”

Free to argue, the chairman's decision is absolute. What can I do? Forced Bery rested himself for a moment behind the wall although uncomfortable when he saw his teammates struggling.

Maybe a few minutes of rest is not a problem.

“How are you progressing there, Sadin?” edrick asked through communication while continuing to shoot at monsters.

Sadin's figure is getting closer to Room B. He ran up the stairs, entering the door's leafless room. In the center of the chamber, one machine looks almost like a metal table, just like the one in the center of the control room. It was a generator machine, the place to activate the Crystal Core energy.

“I've arrived.”

Sadin approached the table, trying to pull the handle hook to pull the Crystal Core tube from inside the machine. But free, the pull is stuck.

“I had trouble pulling out the tube.”

Edrick replied, “Some of the engine components are damaged. Can you fix it?”

Sadin crouched down, opening a small door on the generator engine. As the chairman said, there were some broken engine components. But all the damage was not so severe, it was only damaged because it was not used for a long time. At least, it can be repaired easily.

“Sure,” Sadin replied briefly, start repairing that machine.

….

“Ergh…. Their number is really more,” sis Edrick while continuing to shoot with Lavisto. “Forced I have to use it again.”

“IRN 3932 : Iron Stake!”

Instantly appeared dozens of large iron pegs from inside the floor, piercing the bodies of the monsters that were about to approach. Although it could not kill all the monsters, it could at least hold them back from approaching the control room.

“It was much more mending than detonating a grenade,” said Lavisto amazed by the great ability of the chairman.

Despite having installed many iron pegs, the monsters still tried to break through their defenses, trying to uproot and destroy them. Other types of Barkata also exist that deliberately blow his head in order to destroy the iron pegs.

“At least, it is enough to hold them.” Edrick asked Irawan and Farhan who were guarding the right side through helmet communication. “How's it over there? Do I need help using the Capability Program?”

“No need, Chairman. We can still handle it,” replied Farhan. “Only, Astan and Tenma are still stuck in the middle of the road.”

Edrick flinched, he just remembered that there was Tenma and Astan was still struggling in the middle of the right bridge. If only Edrick could help use the Capability Program. But alas, the distance or radius of the Gold Rank Ability Program was quite limited. With the distance from the control room to where the two soldiers were, it was impossible for Edrick to help.

“May they be fine there,” his murmur continues to shoot.

….

Astan and Tenma were further upset by the increasing number of Barkata surrounding them, closing the road to Room E. They can only keep shooting, hoping the numbers will decrease.

“If it's like this, we won't be able to reach the generator booth.” Tenma filled up his ammunition while Astan fired at the side.

“Look it, Tenma. You go first to Room E. I'll try to hold them.”

“You sure? The road closes the monster group.”

“I heard from the Chairman, we can still use grenades, but not too often. I'll throw a grenade to open the way so you can pass,” Astan suggested.

“Woolah…! Why didn't you say that from earlier. Our long-standing here,” Tenma's nagging tirade.

Instant slightly sneering, “Ya, sorry…. I ‘mah is more muscle than brain. The dryness of the brain makes us puyeng. Fast download senile, pulak.”

From behind the helmet, Tenma put on a flat face. Had it not been in the middle of a battle and not a teammate, Tenma would have dropped Astan to the bottom of the Core Ship's engine.

Let it burn with its useless brain.

After changing the magazine, Astan took out a grenade from the system storage, pressed the trigger button, then threw it into the Barkata troupe, making part of the road on the bridge began to stretch until there were other Barkata coming from a distance.

“Now is the time, Tenma! Go to Room E! Entar the course of the Barkata lage closure!” instant shouted furiously while shooting the few remaining Barkata.

“A-anu, Instant..”

“Heh?”

Tenma pointed in the opposite direction, “Yang is being granated here, not next to it. There you go to the control room, you know.”

Astan looked at Tenma's direction, there was indeed the direction towards Room E, while the direction he threw the grenade was the turning way towards the control room.

“Wo! I'm plan-plan?!”

“Mean! That's the brain at school! You're a graduate of Akmil on the Dalem scholarship or what, seh?!” tenma's nagles have emotions up to the top.

Gini-gini is very lucky Tenma has a partner. Wonderful, why this one human can live long until now with infinite stupidity.

“Ya, already. Don't you throw one more grenade?”

Astan again threw another grenade, now the throw is in the right direction.

“Quick go! I'll catch up.”

Tenma nodded, “Good.”

Tenma replaced his mitraliur gun with a second weapon, the Shotgun. The soldier immediately ran as the line was already off the Barkata's entourage, shooting the remaining few while continuing to run towards Room E.

“Good,” said Astan when he saw Tenma leave.

Astan also tried to follow when the bridge line was still stretched. But as expected, that path began to narrow as many Barkata returned to encircle it.

“Already expected, they'll— Argh! What's...”.

Astan has trouble controlling his body. His body began to stiff, hard, and difficult to move. His head also felt very dizzy when accidentally his eyes saw one eye of the object in the middle of the Barkata entourage.

The object was a white-clothed figure with long hair covering almost the entire face. But it is quite possible to see a large eyeball moving from the mouth of the creature, hypnotizing the mind of anyone who sees it.
