Astan resumes the story of his mysterious dream, while Mavin listens carefully without anyone missing while noting some of what he thinks is important in cell phone records.
“In addition to the moaning sound..”.
Instant opens its system panel, activates the audio panel, and shows it to Mavin.
[Welcome to AutoTerra Operating System]
“Sounds resembling a system are also heard.” Astan removed the panel. “Sometimes the voice says, must run a mission. Otherwise, it will be punished.”
Mavin recorded the story, thinking about sounds resembling the AutoTerra System. It seems, Mavin should be suspicious about what kind of dream Astan suffered.
“As long as I stay on this spaceship, that dream is very rare. But lately almost every night appears, even when conscious like this there are hallucinations similar to that dream that interfere with my activities. For example, when I was on a mission yesterday, while relaxing, and after you told me earlier also briefly appeared.”
“That moaning voice sounded in need of my help, and asked me to come back. But, I don't know where to go back.” Astan nibbled his temple. “These dreams and hallucinations are getting longer and more disturbing to me. I don't know when this is all over. I can barely afford it anymore.”
“Oke.”
Mavin closed the note on the phone, feeling the information obtained from Astan was enough. Mavin can draw conclusions, but still has not dared to state a statement on Astan before everything is completely clear.
“From what I heard, you have a problem with similar dreams and hallucinations that are increasingly bothering you, so?”
Astan was silent and did not answer. But from his silence, Mavin took it as a yes.
Mavin tapped his pen on the table. “I still haven't caught on about shadows, moaning sounds, as well as sound resembling a system. But, what I'm sure of is the location of your dream, a spaceship passageway. Do you have some kind of memory of that ship passageway? Or actually the hallway in question is the passage of this Thornic Ship 035?”
“I'm sure it's not aisle Ship Thornic 035.” Astan tried to remember his dream. “It... is a passageway filled with blood and corpses.”
“You feel fear when you experience such dreams or hallucinations?”
Astan stroking his nape, “….Sometimes it's…. I don't know, I'm not sure. What is clear is that such dreams and hallucinations bother me a lot. Even my Squad partner said yesterday that something happened to me when I lost focus due to this hallucination. He said, the statistical data from my AutoTerra System is unstable.”
“Did your partner know that it was caused by your hallucinations?”
Astan shakes. “No. I'm just saying that maybe the effect was due to fatigue.”
One more thing that makes Mavin wonder. Though from the initial explanation, Mavin was able to draw his own conclusions. But if the problem of statistical data system is unstable due to hallucinations experienced by Astan, Mavin did not find the bright spot.
“Keep aside about the issue of your unstable statistical data, I'd rather discuss about your original story,” said Mavin calmly, “A hallway of a spaceship filled with blood and corpses? What kind of corpse do you see?”
Astan tried to remember his dream. “Emm…. Man, on average wearing a white uniform or some kind of official uniform that.
“You didn't realize that it might just be a memory?”
Sontak Astan is silent a thousand languages. Confused to respond.
A... memory…?
Astan himself was not sure if it was a memory, he did not feel that he had ever been in a situation like the one in a dream.
Wait…!
Astan was surprised by himself, realizing something. Some reasons make Astan's mind very chaotic as long as he experiences similar dreams and hallucinations.
First, the AutoTerra System statistical data is unstable. Second, his strength was considered stronger than his rank and level which was still relatively low. And finally, his mind seemed to have a lost memory, but he did not feel that it really had a memory that was not necessarily his memory.
Really, Astan would rather travel the field for a lifetime to die of dizziness than think about this problem.
“You already have the bright spot?” asked Mavin who was surprised when he saw Astan daydreaming so deeply.
The orange-haired man preferred to be silent, clutching his head which slowly began to feel dizzy.
Looking at Astan's residence, Mavin sighed while leaning his body on the back of a chair and crossing it.
“Aaah…. That's the reason why I think of you as Ash, Vice Chairman of the Reston09 Unit, Astan Pradipta Cornell, who had no news during his stay on Feron 072,” Mavin said calmly, “You may still want to be evasive, but from your story alone I can guess that your dreams and hallucinations are your subconscious way of conveying the message that you have something you forgot.”
Slowly the grip of both hands from Astan's head slipped off, his mind trying to digest what Mavin had said just now.
What Mavin said has a point. There is a type of human brain that will always remember the most painful things in his life. And for some reason, there are times when the brain actually erases a memory so that the body and mental reactions remain stable.
For example, the situation in question is an accident that causes the brain to erase someone's memory?
That means, Astan is having some kind of amnesia?
“If you really are the Ash we are looking for, maybe you are currently experiencing amnesia,” continued Mavin again, “Your subconscious mind is trying to convey something very important so you can remember it. And maybe something important that has something to do with the instability of your system's statistical data.”
“Newly this time I heard the system statistics could be unstable. Might have a Bug?” guess Mavin. “But I'm sure, in your case this is not a Bug. Especially if it's true that you were involved in the incident on Feron 072.”
“Then, what should I do?”
Astan's heterochrome eyes looked seriously at Mavin's green eyes, while Mavin replied thus accompanied by a glint caused from the reflection of the chandelier on the table.
“If it is true that I am Ash, the Vice Chairman of the Reston09 Unit who is currently in a state of amnesia, what should I do to reopen my memory? This I also do so that dreams and nauseating hallucinations can disappear forever from my mind.”
Hearing Astan's question, a wide grin appeared on the commander's handsome face. Anyone who saw it, whatever Mavin's face, must have felt that the grin was too horrible.
“I have an offer that can definitely help you find answers about your memories, and freedom of mind from the dreams and hallucinations that have haunted you.”
A tab appeared on Mavin's palm from his system storage. He clicked on the document data, and pushed it on the table until it arrived before Astan.
The confused Astan furrowed his brows. “What is this?”
Mavin again throws a smile that even looks laughable in Astan's sight.
“Close with our team to go to Feron Ship 072.”
...~*~*~*~...
To be honest, as long as I make these 3 chapie, I experience 3P (Dizziness, dizziness, quail). Sometimes I don't know what I'm doing.
I understand the problems that Astan has in this Arc, but how to convey it to the reader is difficult. It was also a good time against WB. Almost the story stopped in the middle of the road.
But, because of my determination and earnestness that is clear all over the world-end. Finally I, as the Author of this story, decided to-
