AutoTerra: Operating Systems
Chapter 58: Core of the Ship

The two bodies of the bodies were destroyed and their armor was now covered by a white cloth in the corner of the corridor. Edrick's iron wall was removed after covering the gate. It was clear that the corridor gate they were about to open before had opened wide after being hit by a strong liquid attack from Slime-D when it was squeezed by an iron wall.

Now, Team Aravan071 is 11 members after two people were killed by the Slime-D attack and their negligence in acting fast. Ignorance of the enemy's ability to be unread by the system makes them lose focus, panic in action.

As team leader, Edrick hopes he can focus more on carrying out the mission and leading the team's movement. The life of the entire team is a big responsibility.

“So, the air here is completely contaminated with harmful elements, yes?” tanya Astan probing. “Soalnya, if not misheard, the soldier had complained of shortness of breath before dying.”

“You sure?” tanya Tenma responded to Astan's response. “Maybe it was also caused by damage to respiratory organ tissue due to Slime-D.” attack

Astan shook his hand. “Aish…! Yeah, nevermind. Don't think about that problem anymore. So dizzy I thought of him.”

“You yourself are starting to discuss,” cynical Tenma.

If the problem is related to science, Astan is among those who suck to understand it. He discussed it out of curiosity.

“After passing this path, will we get to the Energy Generation Area?” edrick asked in a flat tone of voice, still somewhat shadowed by his regret for the deaths of the two team members.

Wirma opened the ship's floor plan to the system, then checked the radar in the direction. “One more path, we will reach the Energy Generation Area. At the moment, the radar does not detect anything. But, we still have to be vigilant, prepared with all the bad possibilities that will happen again.”

Edrick nodded. “Good. We're leaving now. Careful to get through the gate. The side of the hole is sharp due to irregular melt from the creature.”

Alternately team members enter the gate, heading for a new path to get to the destination.

When Astan's last turn, he had turned to the two white cloths. His feelings of sadness, sadness, and shock when remembering the moments when his body melted crushed out of the crevices of the armour due to slime-D fluids.

That was so horrible. If he were just a civilian, he would have been traumatized when he saw the incident.

“Excuse us, friends. May you calm down there.”

After that, Astan entered through the gate, following the teammates, leaving the two white cloths lying covered in shattered pieces of their corpses that were partially frozen stiff.

...~*~*~*~...

One area and one lane are already passed. No suspicious creatures lurk and attack again. One large gate began to be opened manually, pulled out its lever, rotated, then pushed until the gate was fully open.

“This is it...”.

Their eyes poked the area. A vast area that had been their goal to re-energize the entire ship.

Energy Generation Area. It looks so vast, so big, it's kind of dark, it almost gives anyone the creeps of seeing and feeling the horrors of the atmosphere here.

In the middle of the area, there is a giant tube-sized machine that is still not active, the giant machine they call the Core Ship.

Around the machine, precisely on the walls, there are five rooms connected by metal bridges attached to each wall area, and connected again by stairs to the door of the room. All the rooms were the same size, but only one was larger, the room near their gate.

It's not just that. Around the Ship Core, there was a considerable distance between the Ship Core engine and the bridge, and in the middle of that distance there was a base deep enough down. If they are not careful when crossing the bridge, then they can die falling to the bottom. Moreover, the base around such machines is known to generate heat energy when the engine is activated.

“We have reached the Energy Generation Area,”, Edrick said as he watched the giant tube machine before them.

“So far, there's nothing suspicious around here,” Wirma said after briefly checking his radar. “Kurasa, we're safe now.”

“Good. We begin operations to activate the Core Ship. But before, we went to the Bwah kont— room! Blah! Blah!” Edrick tried to set his tongue, almost to be firm. “I mean, to the control room that is there.” He pointed to one of the largest rooms near them.

Astan, Wirma, and some members know very well typical Edrick who likes to talk, can only pay attention to the chairman with a flat look.

“You were almost latah la—.”

“Udah, ah, Wirma! Don't talk about it!”

….

Finally, all the team members entered the control room. Here, through the long watch glass, they could see more clearly the structure of the Core Ship machine and the four other small rooms around the area wall, connected to each bridge.

This control room has rows of machines and control computers that are all still completely dead. Looking dark, the light source is only produced from a flashlight on their armor.

“OK…. Of course all the machines are still dead,” comments Edrick.

“Then, how do we activate the Ship Core machine?” ask one of the soldiers.

Edrick's finger tapped on the control table. “It seems a bit complicated, anyway.”

The chief turned around, walking toward the only strange table in the middle of the room. The object did not look like a table, black and arranged a metal structure. In the middle of the surface, there is a handle hook, is part of an object embedded in the table.

Edrick's hand tried to pull the hook out of the table. But it can't be because it's stuck.

“I've expected...”.

Edrick crouched down, opening the small door on the side of the table. When the members saw, apparently on the body of the table there was a series of machines and cables that were irregular.

The chief tried to fix it. It only takes a few minutes until all the machines are repaired. Edrick stood back up, again trying to pull the hook. When pulled, apparently the exit is a thick glass-lined tube accompanied by strange smoke around it.

“As you guys know, this table is actually a Crystal Core energy generation generator machine. It only sustained a little damage. But, it can still be fixed.” Edrick spoke as the smoke around the tube had vanished, “With this generator, the Ship Core engine could be fully ignited. But, if from this type of Space Ship, it takes about five generators to be able to activate the Ship Core.”

Automatic open generator glass tube side. Edrick pops one pink crystal out of his hand, taken from the system's storage. Then, he puts the crystal into the tube until the side of the tube is closed again.

A sighing sound from the slow to the rather loud was heard. The crystal inside the tube seemed to start spinning slowly becoming firmer, creating a purplish-white beam.

Edrick immediately put the tube back into the generator. All of a sudden all of the electricity, the engine, and the lights inside the control room were on.

[Control System: Online]

[Generator System A: On]

[Core Ship part A: Active]

[Starting Machine Heating Process]

“Yep! The machines in the control room are already active.”

Edrick again walked to the front of the control table, noticing the heated Core Ship engine starting at the base.

“We just managed to turn on one generator. There are still four more generators that need to be activated.”

“Four?” ask Astan, tilt your head.

“Ya.” Edrick turned around, starting to give an explanation to all of his members. “Core Vessel can be fully activated if all five Crystal Core generators are activated. And all those generators were in five different chambers. There are five rooms connected via a bridge around the Core of the Ship, namely Room A, Room B, Room C, Room D, and Room E. The newly powered generator is now a Room A generator as well as a place to control the performance of the Ship Core engine system.”

Edrick pointed to the four chambers in question, attached to each wall of the area with each large alphabet letter listed above the chamber.

“We have to turn on all those generators to get the Core Ship engine active and be able to produce energy to the rest of the ship back. If the energy in the entire ship is restored, we can access all the data on this ship.”

“The plan is like this, our team will send four personnel to power each generator. But previously, personnel capable of using the Summon Type-3 Ability were assigned to look around using drones.” Edrick started asking, “Who has Summon Type-3 Capability?”

Two men raise their hands in the group.

“We can make observations,” said the soldier. “Even my Summon ability has reached Type-4.”

The other soldier nodded. “Leave it to us.”

Edrick replied with a nod. “Good. We'll see things around first.”

Behind the helmet, Edrick's two bright blue eyes sharpened, thinking of any serious possibilities that would occur when this action would be implemented immediately. Bad premonitions arise, the atmosphere is gripping, all of it jumbled, making Edrick must be more vigilant in planning all actions.

“We will make sure, whether there are other threatening objects hiding around the area here or not.”
