AutoTerra: Operating Systems

AutoTerra: Operating Systems
Chapter 40: Story

Astan clutched his hands in front. Seemingly thinking of the answer from Mavin about a figure similar to him missing on a space ship. For some reason, this topic caught the attention of Astan. Astan was curious about what happened to that figure.

“What exactly happened to the extent that this person went missing on the ship you were referring to?”

“You are interested to know?” mavin asked calmly.

“Entahlah...” Astan stroked his nape doubtfully. “I just. Do you mind the story? It is possible that the story is an infromation asset of—.”

Mavin smiles, interrupts Astan's speech, “What's wrong. It'sit's okay. I'll tell you a story. But instead, give me all the information you know about yourself.”

“Only that?”

“Then, what?” Mavin posing, scissoring. “Told you to dance in the middle of this dimly lit room? Ish, disgust me.”

Astan narrowed his eyes irritatedly. Just Mavin's smile that looks authoritative, his nature makes you upset too.

Mavin started telling me, “Three years ago, a unit from one of the battalions in the Ribelo-I Group, was, Liston03 units of more than 40 personnel were deployed to carry out additional surveillance and protection missions against Feron 072. The ship is one of the ships owned by Feron Company, a company that operates in the pharmaceutical and medical technology. The function of the ship is as an alternative factory for making special medicines as well as a means of transportation to transport all drugs to Planet GT624 which until now is still in the final stage of information.”

“Supervision is done because there are indications this company is embezzling teraformation funds. So, to be sure, the Ribelo Orbit Force sent this unit with Kiron Lavieston as chairman and. Astan Pradipta Cornell as vice chairman.”.

Astan grimaced when his name was mentioned. Even so, Astan still felt that the vice chairman in question was still not himself.

“This Feron 072 ship is planned to dock from Planet Ribelo to Planet GT624 to deliver medical supplies. The first three days, the battalion can still contact Liston03 Unit. However, when enter the fourth day..” Mavin. “They can no longer be contacted. All contact was cut off without cause. The Orbit Force also had time to contact the battalion who served on Planet GT624, they said the ship was not there at all.”

“Some Team and Unit troops were deployed to Feron 072 which was detected some distance from Planet Yomna. The ship's position is suspicious. The reason, Planet Yomna is in position after Planet GT624 and has exited the asteroid belt.”

“Unfortunately, the first team sent lost connection. 2-3 teams-units also sent, fixed end-end communication disconnected. Before long, little evidence from the Feron Company located on Planet Ribelo began to be found. Now the teams sent no longer aim to make a rescue or something, but look for evidence of the results of illegal experiments carried out by the company.”

“Experiment..?”

Those words made Astan even more curious, as well as making his feelings even more uncomfortable.

What really comes to mind in the Astan subconscious? Why does he feel that word sounds scary?

“Iya, experiment.” Mavin nodded. “I can't tell you more details of his experiment. But if you want to know, the experiment conducted by Feron Company is to duplicate the AutoTerra.” System

According to Astan, this makes no sense. The AutoTerra Operating System is the only system that can be applied to the human body and consciousness.

However, duplicating the AutoTerra System.. is it possible?

At first Astan wanted to ask what the purpose and what kind of AutoTerra System was duplicated, but Mavin refused to tell because the information was a military asset and government law, not just anyone should know to prevent the leak of information.

“The evidence obtained from the Feron-owned company scattered in several cities of Planet Ribelo is enough to bring him down in the trial. In the end, the Feron Company was found guilty by being charged with a layered article, namely fraud, embezzlement or corruption, until conducting illegal experiments.”

“The company was dissolved, the staff involved were sentenced to prison, and the top brass and the most influential people in this crime were on average put to death.” Momentary Mavin sizzles slowly, “…. In fact, the death penalty is still not enough to pay for all their crimes, including corruption and illegal experiments involving many lives

Astan understands Mavin's mind. Although sadistic, crimes such as corruption and illegal experiments on living things should be punished with more than death, at least torture as long as they die or are imprisoned for life without mercy.

“Then...” Astan again asked, “What is the fate of Ash you mean?”

Mavin twirled the phone in his hand, looking somewhat sad. There was a gap between their conversations.

“Nobody knows. Before the trial, the entire ship was declared dead, including the personnel sent.”

Again Mavin did not give the full details. That's more than enough to be known by someone who might be involved in the case.

Mavin sharpened his gaze, looking seriously at the interlocutor before him. Astan Pradipta Cornell, if he really is the man Mavin is looking for, then he is one of the keys to all the mysteries on the ship.

Unfortunately, this person even claimed to not know Mavin at all.

Mavin was desperate. Is Astan not Ash? Meaning, his arrival with Harnan here was in vain. However, knowing that Astan was interested to know about the case of the Feron Ship 072, it seemed that there was indeed something hidden within Astan.

Astan himself looked somewhat down, watching the tip of his foot under the table in vain. His mind involuntarily glared, automatically searching for something missing in his memory. But as usual, Astan never realized what was missing in him. And did something that was missing in him really ever exist?

“Back…. Ash...!”

“Argh..!”

Astan looked up, rubbing his face in frustration. Bodo strongly suspected that Mavin if he was crazy, Astan could not stand the growing groans that disturbed his mind.

“After you told me everything, the voice became more and more a thrill to me.”

Sontak Mavin. Something happened to Astan. Could it be that there is still hope for Mavin to suspect that Astan is really the missing Ash?

It seems, he really should find out.

“As promised, I will tell you everything about myself,” said Astan resignedly, “After all, maybe telling a stranger like you is better than just being buried.”

Mavin just smiled back. He must be sincerely considered a stranger, still uncertain clarity about who exactly Astan is.

“I can't remember since when, maybe since I've stayed on this ship, sometimes I'm haunted by the same dream every time I dream.”

Mavin began preparing the note feature on his phone, maybe there is some important information he can get from Astan.

“May I know, what dream is it?” ask Mavin politely.

There was a pause just before Astan replied, “.…Dream about the moans that always whisper in my dreams.”

Groaning, huh? Mavin is seen thinking for a moment, then taking note of what he heard from Astan.

“Not just moans. In the dream, I always saw a dark hallway, minimal lighting, and there were many lumps of shadows blocking my vision, ”Astan's story, “Sometimes I see a lot of drops and pools of blood around the shadow. And among the shadows, there are two pairs of yellow flashes forming the eyes of foreign creatures.”

“What kind of hallway do you see?” tanya Mavin makes sure, “Hurricane? A train aisle? Or—.”

“Vessel aisle.” Astan seemed to be trying to remember. “Iya. Looks like, like a passageway of a spaceship.”

“True...” Mavin.

This story sounds closer to the truth.
