Chapter 69: Grade-S Dagger

“Seniorku?”

Astan did not expect this. The meaning of the photo shows that Mavin and Astan did know each other as seniors and juniors in the Military Academy. One memory that Astan did not remember at all appeared, further strengthening the evidence that Astan was a soldier and had studied at one of the Military Academies.

“Looks, you guys have known each other for a long time,” guess Edrick, handed the photo back to Astan. “Maybe that's why he was desperate to get you on our team for the mission. He hopes, you can remember something or get some clues related to your past.”

Astan looked at the photo again. “If that's the reason, why isn't he honest if from the beginning he knew I had amnesia?”

“Dia knows?” Edrick was a little surprised.

“From his words and actions, it seems he knows. But, I just realized it.” Instant hissing, “He knows from whom? And why was he not honest from the start?”

Actually, Edrick did not want to interfere with the relationship between the commander and Astan. His involvement is only limited to ensuring the condition of Astan during the mission here.

But during the mission, Astan was often silent, looking as if he was confused by the situation on this ship. Several times Edrick caught Astan daydreaming, almost out of focus.

Edrick thought that maybe Astan's brain was trying to find the memory of the Feron 072, collecting some memories of the past that had been lost due to mysterious events.

Edrick patted Astan on the shoulder. “I do not know your relationship with Commander Mavin. I just feel like Commander Mavin has his own reasons for being dishonest. Maybe he doesn't want to tell you straight away that you're amnesiac because you don't necessarily trust him.”

Edrick's right. If only Mavin had directly said that Astan amnesia, where might Astan believe. Maybe Astan will choose to go straight away, reluctant to deal with Mavin and assume he digresses.

Astan thought, Mavin was reluctant to be honest right then and there because he did not want to force Astan to really remember him. A person with amnesia cannot be arbitrarily required to remember what he forgot, the risk of health problems is quite fatal.

“Good. I'm not gonna force you to admit that we knew each other.”

Yeah, that seems to be the reason. Mavin wants Astan to remember the memory plan he forgot, and the best way to remember it is to go to Feron 072. The proof, Astan managed to get objects related to his past. Unfortunately, he had absolutely no recollection of the things related to those things.

Everything felt hollow in Astan's mind, like someone was erasing his memories without any remains.

“I know Commander Mavin well. He is personally wise. There is no way he has any covert intention to play you,” continued Edrick calmly, “from this photo alone, we know Commander Mavin knows you well in the past. He must have good intentions to help you, Astan.”

Astan simply nodded slowly in return. Whatever the reason behind Mavin's dishonesty, his intention remains to help Astan remember his past memories. Either it was because it was sincere or there was another reason behind it. The result remains the same, no one feels aggrieved here.

“Psst. Pssst.” A new Bery figure appeared peering at the side of the door. “From yesterday I was looking for’in, apparently on the dimari. No more dating ‘kan y'all?”

“What date?” ask Edrick a little irritated.

“It...” Bery pointed. “His hands are not conditioned.”

Edrick and Astan follow Bery's direction. Apparently what Edrick's hand meant was on Astan's shoulder.

Just so doang is considered dating, the outrageousness of this one soldier.

“Ish! What's touch-touch?!” Astan brushed Edrick's hand off his shoulder. “I am still a perforated demen, not a trunked one.!”.

“Why do you think I'm gay?!” nagel Edrick. “I was just a business nenangin. Galau mulu from earlier I looked like a jamet dusk.”

“Ah, stop. Not the time to be joking,” said Bery flicking his hand.

“You started fishing.” Edrick also asked, “Emang why did you start’in? Want something?”

“Oh, yes already. We're going there now. Faster, better.”

Edrick and Bery left the room. Astan was about to catch up, but he again noticed a dagger he had found with a photo and a uniform in the locker.

Astan took the dagger, paying attention to the model. Looks like a traditional patterned ancient dagger with a combination of red and orange, exotic and stunning, comfortable also held in the hand.

[Weapon: Type-FR551 Dimensional Dagger]

[Grade: S]

[Color: Red-Orange]

[Accessories : -]

[Ability : Increase the firepower of the weapon by 5%, teleportation to where the dagger is]

“Means?” instant murmured while reading this dagger ability through the system panel. “Oh. Maybe I think gini means.” Instant remove panel.

He threw the dagger forward until it stuck on the floor, when his body moved to where the dagger was. Unfortunately, when his teleportation ability was activated, Astan's body felt a slight glitch. If forced to use the ability of this dagger, it will be bad for his physical health.

His hand took the dagger from the floor, watching him again. “It is not wrong if this weapon is in Grade-S. It's just like there's some damage that makes his ability a little flawed. It can still be repaired. I'll take it.”

Instant save dagger to system storage. It was good that he got a free Grade-S weapon even though it was damaged, at least he was still able to repair it later. He also has no Supporting Weapon since his dagger was damaged by hunting yesterday.

….

Now that Astan had caught up with Edrick and Bery arrived in front of a large metal gate. The gate is the fastest way to the Medical Deck. Luckily Bery found it.

“Where?” tanya Astan had just arrived to approach his two colleagues.

Edrick seemed to think. “I tried activating the key panel, nih.” His hand pricks the key panel button next to the gate. “But can't flame.”

“So, can not be hacked, tuh?”

“Boro-boro hacked. Power's off here.”

Bery joined the talk, “Perhaps because one generator booth was destroyed, so there are some parts of the ship that are not part of the energy.”

“Terus, how is this?” ask Astan. “Do we need muter?”

“If you get out of here, it will be long. You must be lewatin Public Deck du— Eh?”

There's an incoming call from a remote communication. Soon Edrick activated the holographic call from his armor, displaying Wirma's figure there.

“So, need help, Chairman?”

Edrick understood Wirma's words. He knew that the vice-chairman would be reliable in such a situation.
