Alice arrived at a village on the fourth day. The baron who headed the village greeted them respectfully. They are treated as best they can. In that village, they only stopped by for a short break. The journey will continue when the sun begins to lean towards the western horizon.
"What do you see in this village?" Florence began to make judgments of her students.
"Peace and quiet" replied Akilla watching the children running around cheerfully. They cheered to see the knights entering the village.
"The inhabitants work as farmers" Aristia continued. He was more interested in the view of the wheat that was beginning to turn yellow. The wind blew so hard that it made the sea of wheat dance.
"The conditions are relatively safe" Rosemary observed the housing that was not surrounded by fortresses or the like. Around this village there are only plots of wheat cultivation. The forest around him was quite far away.
"Mn.. education here tends to be underdeveloped," Mainne critically cautiously. He was trying to find a different answer from his friends. So, he took from his perspective a thick view of books and knowledge. The average resident of this village is illiterate.
"Well! Interesting," Florence nodded lightly with a smile. He turned to Aria and Alice who had not answered, "What about you?"
"Cool," said Aria briefly. He enjoys the wind that blows with comfort. His eyes also glanced at some shady trees embedded around the houses of the residents.
"People here are stressed in hierarchy and caste" Alice flatly said. He recalled clearly how the residents greeted them by kneeling to the ground. They didn't even stand until Alice ordered the barons in this village to have the inhabitants rise.
"You have unique views," Florence cheerfully clapped her hands once and continued the discussion, "I am interested in the statement of the Princess and Miss Mainne," she wore semiformal language outside the room, "Miss Mainne, you seem to care about education here. How will you develop it in the future? Not just here, but all over the kingdom."
"Em..," Mainne thought for a moment and replied, "Building a people's school."
"How will you build it in this vast kingdom?" Florence continued her question. The other scholarly girls greeted him calmly. They sat under a shady tree with a thin mat provided by a villager.
Alice allows children who are interested in them to join. The knights initially wanted to dissuade the children from disturbing them. However, Anna conveyed Alice's message to the knights to calm down.
"First, there must be a scientific center that pioneered education in this kingdom" Mainne began to explain his argument. She didn't look like a 13-year-old girl when she did that. "In that case, the Royal Academy and Alverio Academy had already fulfilled it."
"To widen the range of his education," continued Mainne after a moment of silence, "these two academies can use their students to serve in brackets for a certain time. With so many students in the academy at the moment, even a year would be enough."
"The Alverio Academy that the late Duchess vi Alverio built is indeed likely to do just that," Florence considered a few things, "But, the Royal Academy that is dominated by nobles will not be willing to easily do that."
"To be able to serve the kingdom is a matter of pride and honor for the nobles," Mainne responded to her teacher's consideration, "A strong country needs great academics to maintain its existence. The nobles can definitely understand it. There is no need for caste in education because it is the right of everyone."
"I see what you mean, but running it is not as easy as saying it in a forum like this" Florence said, "You have to work hard in the future."
"For the Princess, it seems like you have thoughts that are in line with Miss Mainne," Florence continued her discussion with Alice, "You don't seem to be so fond of the caste system within this kingdom. How will you react to her as a future queen candidate."
"The true essence of nobility is guidance," Alice said in the book, "They are shields that protect their people. They are most responsible for the affairs of the nation. Being noble is not about pride and honor. Not power and influence. But it's about trust and responsibility."
Everyone is silent. That's not what a 10-year-old girl would say, but a national expert who's been studying for years.
"Mothers also often teach that," continued Alice this time in a more fluid voice. The mother's smile each taught her wisdom in her mind. Yes, that's one of the ways the late Duchess Evianna vi Alverio taught children, namely by smiling. Young children should be given a smile often so that they feel comfortable and happy.
"That's a good answer" Florence broke the silence. The break time is over. It's time they continued their journey. "Let's get back to the horse-drawn carriage."
Journey continued. Alice's entourage passed through a vast field that once filled the history books. The scholarly girls enthusiastically observed the Padang. Green trees grow there.
"A tyrant emperor was once defeated here," Rosemary began a discussion on the vast Padang, "It was a year without summer. Rain all year round. There are no green grasses here. There was only muddy mud blocking the pace of the horses and the knights."
"True, the emperor delayed the battle until noon because of the muddy ground," Akilla continued Rosemary's story, "He hoped the land would become dry during the day. Nahas, the delay even made the emperor fail. His army could not destroy the enemy until the afternoon. That afternoon, the enemy's help came and turned things around."
"There was an unexpected cause of the emperor's failure," Anna joined the discussion. The intellectual girls looked. Florence is also interested in hearing this. "As Miss Mary and Miss Akilla have explained, unfavorable weather contributed to the tyrant's defeat. A year without a summer had brought losses to him. Do you guys know? Why was there no summer?"
"There are no documents left on it," Florence tried to recall the books she had read, "Only note remains that the clouds were very strange in that year."
"True, the strange clouds also affect the weather. In some parts of the world there was even a long winter," Anna continued her explanation. Had he been allowed to use his gawai, of course the explanation would have been easier to understand. "The strange cloud was caused by a terrible mountain explosion. It's thousands of miles from here. The mountain was located in an area referred to as the ring of fire,"
"How can a volcanic eruption thousands of kilometers away impact this area?" Aristia did not understand.
"The volcanic ash that comes from the eruption of the mountain contains an electrical voltage. That electrical voltage affects the atmospheric conditions where clouds form, increasing rainfall" Anna explained at length. The intellectual girls increasingly did not understand. Anna smiled and saw him.
"The volcanic ash is very small dust" Rosemary explained as she asked him, "There are small particles inside."
"The tyrant emperor who dominated the continent was defeated by the dust that was lifted up into the sky," Alice's conclusion returned the discussion to the main topic, "Whatever his army may be, he will not be able to resist God's provisions."
"The little rock storm is a warning to us and shows that God can give the kingdom to whomever He wills, and can uproot the kingdom from whomever He wills."
Alice's words ended the discussion of the vast history of the field. The topic also moved on to another discussion. That is how the intellectual girls spent their time during the journey.
